Chapter 36: *The wolf’s fury*
Axel positioned himself between Kevin and the rest of the monsters, taking the time to remove the scabbard with his swords and throw it at Kevin’s feet.
He already knew what was going to happen; filled with rage and fury, he instantly shapeshifted into his original wolf form. Sometimes, when he lost control of his emotions, shapeshifting was inevitable, but he could still maintain control over his animal instincts.
He wasted no time and decapitated the two elite knight golems with his paws, then focused all his attention on the dungeon boss who was fighting alongside his strongest soldiers. In his wolf form, he was more powerful and faster than in his human form, easily defeating the boss’s elite soldiers and sending them one after the other to Kevin, so he could deliver the finishing blow and gain experience points.
When the moment finally came to face the Warrior Orc, his growl of fury echoed throughout the room, and the Warrior Orc unconsciously took a few steps back. But he quickly regained his composure, and a fierce fight ensued. Kevin still couldn’t keep up with their movements when they were at full speed, and he had to take cover as the range of their attacks was quite impressive.
Axel’s clothes were still lying on the ground, torn on all sides, and Kevin had used his swords to deliver the final blows to the poor elite knight orcs he had sent to him, who were already half-dead. Axel looked hurt; he could see a gash on his right front paw and a larger gash along his side, with a lot of blood dripping from his injuries.
Kevin started to worry seriously when he saw Axel grab the throat of the Warrior Orc with his fangs, and soon after, the System sound echoed in his head, signaling the death of the dungeon boss.
Kevin rushed over to Axel and said hastily, "Axel, quickly shapeshift back into your human form! We need to deal with your injuries fast."
Axel obeyed immediately. Now that Kevin was safe, his wolf’s fury was appeased, and he was able to shapeshift back into his human form. When Kevin saw that the cut on his thigh was open to the bone, he couldn’t help but swear; the wound on Axel’s side was pretty bad as well.
Kevin didn’t think twice; these kinds of injuries were beyond his skill, so he opened the holographic screen of his System and selected the Store menu, thinking to buy healing potions.

They had plenty of money, so Kevin didn’t check Axel’s stats and directly purchased a legendary grade healing potion. When it appeared in his hands, he immediately gave it to Axel, who drank it without hesitation.
When Axel saw that all his wounds were gone and that he felt perfectly fine, he looked at Kevin, puzzled, and asked, "It wasn’t the low-grade healing potion, was it?"
Kevin didn’t answer right away; he first checked Axel’s body to ensure he was okay. Once satisfied, he said to him, "Of course not! It was a legendary grade healing potion; it allows you to regenerate all your HP. I found it in the System’s Store."
Axel was truly astonished and exclaimed, "This System is so cool! This means that even at the point of death, this potion can heal us instantly."
Kevin nodded, and in the meantime, he pulled out a water bottle and a towel to help Axel clean off all the blood he had on him. Once Axel was clean and dressed, he asked Kevin, "So babe, what did you find?"
Kevin knew exactly what Axel wanted to know, so he didn’t keep him waiting and said, "There’s just a high-grade box over there; I haven’t seen anything else."
Axel chuckled and said, "Why do you look so disappointed? A high-grade box is already a highly satisfying reward; let’s see what it contains."
The box wasn’t hidden, but it was in a dark corner and completely black. If you didn’t approach closely, you couldn’t see it at all; in fact, they could only find it because they knew a box was there.
Axel broke the lock and opened it, quietly waiting for Kevin to report back to him. Kevin’s smile widened as he read the information from the box to Axel.

Axel then took the necklace, which looked like the silver chain Kevin already had on him, except that the chain was made of an unfamiliar metal and was completely black. He helped Kevin put it on and asked, "Does this mean you can meditate without the risk of getting a headache now?"
Kevin nodded and said, "Not only is my mental fatigue issue resolved, but the particles I absorb will double thanks to this necklace."
Axel sat down against the rock wall and motioned for Kevin to join him. Kevin came over and sat between Axel’s legs, leaning his back against him. Axel then whispered in his ear, "Give me a summary of what you gained from the System by facing these monsters."
Kevin pouted and said, "I didn’t really face them; you just let me kill them."
Axel found Kevin incredibly cute and explained what had happened, "I’m sorry, Kev. My wolf side took over my human side when I saw you fall to your knees. The rage I felt at that moment was too intense, and I couldn’t stop the shapeshifting process."
Kevin snuggled into Axel’s arms and said, "It’s okay. This was the first time I saw you fight in your wolf form, and it was really impressive."
Axel kissed Kevin’s head and caressed his stomach with his hands that had slipped under Kevin’s clothes. He asked again, "So, what did you gain, babe?"
