Chapter 468: Shameless

"It’s Thundering Falls," Ranier corrected her. "Not Thundering Hills."

She scoffed without breaking her glare from the male across from her who still made her knees weak. "The Luna of Thundering Falls then. I like the sound of that." A wicked smile broke out across her face.

The male who marked her was Alpha of the neighboring pack. How perfect was that? It almost made all of this suffering she had gone through worth it. Graeme would have to respect her as a Luna.

Perhaps the Goddess had led her to that pack and into danger for a reason. She would go through all of this pain and trauma and heartbreak and rise as the most formidable Luna ever.

With this new power she felt coursing through her veins, she could rival that intruder August, overthrow her, and take possession of both packs. Then Graeme would be the Alpha and she would be the Luna. It was perfect. She couldn’t have planned it better herself. The Goddess truly was remarkable in the way she worked.

"You cannot be Luna, Violet," Graeme growled.

’What the hell had happened to her eyes?’ Graeme thought to himself. It seemed she had received powers from her mate after all, dammit. That was the very last thing they needed.

"Is it true that I am not eligible to be Luna, Beta Ranier?" She asked with a hand on her hip while narrowing her gold eyes at the male from Thundering Falls. "Even if my mate was Alpha and was killed trying to rescue me? I would think the title and leadership would still be mine."

"Rescue you?" Sam snarled. He was about to lunge at Violet, but Graeme splayed his hand out across Sam’s chest to hold his friend back. "Are you kidding me, Violet?"

She smirked at Sam’s reaction and at how Graeme checked his Beta to prevent him from attacking her. Neither of them realized how untouchable she was now. Sam wouldn’t be able to get close to her even if he tried. But what kind of male would attack someone who had been through what she had? It would be in very poor taste, and that is not how Graeme operated. She knew that much well enough.

"Ranier?" She prompted him for an answer.

"Eligible to be Luna? Well, I... I don’t know. I will have to speak to the council. Did you... complete... your union with Cassian?" He asked with some difficulty. This female was a victim of so much at the hands of his pack.

"He marked me," she growled, removing the hair from her shoulder so that the scar from her gruesome wound was made visible. "Is there more I must endure from him in order to earn the same respect?"

"Did you complete your union?" Graeme repeated Ranier’s question, knowing full well that Violet would have never willingly been intimate with him.

She lifted her chin, accepting the challenge. "Yes, of course." How would they prove that she was lying? It was impossible. "I could be pregnant with his heir right now."

Graeme groaned. This female was shameless. Had she always been this conniving?

"He visited me in the dungeon before he came to find you. He was jealous of our history," her eyes flashed dangerously. "I’m sorry to say that is why he attacked you. He couldn’t handle sharing that history with another male. And to think that I carried your heir. He was furious."

Ranier’s eyes darted back and forth between Graeme and the female who was becoming more complicated by the second. Would his pack really have to consider whether she could lead them... in truth? What a nightmare. It seemed her first order of business would be getting back at the Hallowell pack for whatever wrongs she felt they had done to her as well.

Graeme sighed heavily. "Violet, stop lying. You cannot lead a pack. You are not capable, and you are demonstrating just how little honor you have at this very moment."

"You have no idea how much honor I have," she snarled. "And I am powerful, Graeme. I see things like I never have before. I have abilities like I never had before."

The gold in her eyes grew a threatening deep hue.

"That’s funny," Sam scoffed. "I remember when you were just calling our Luna a witch for her abilities."

"I am not an intruder like she is," she snarled again. She really wanted to demonstrate what she was capable of with Samuel right now. Greta would really have a reason to hate her then. She restrained a snicker at the thought.

"You are a traitor," Sam spit, barely holding himself back. How much would they have to take from her? She was proving how dangerous and vile she could be at every possible opportunity.

"Ranier, I am coming back with you," Violet announced, "and I have no wolf. We can drive. Is that alright with you?"

"You are not leaving this pack, Violet. You are a danger to yourself and to others. You need help," Graeme said, bristling at the way she was commanding a Beta rank from another pack rather than showing him respect as she should. "Call Neoma," Graeme nodded toward Sam. It appeared that they were going to need help with Violet, and he didn’t feel comfortable doing it himself.

"Neoma? That one who defended your little story about the council members? Where is Pearce, by the way? Is he still down rotting in the dungeon or did you take care of him too?"

Graeme shook his head. There was so much hatred and disdain bleeding from every word she spoke, and she was demonstrating this in front of an outsider. It was shameful.

Lucas appeared in the doorway shortly after Neoma. When he had seen her heading to Graeme’s office, he knew there must be trouble. Regardless of what Neoma had said to him before about not needing his help and how little contact they had lately, he wasn’t about to let her handle a difficult situation alone—regardless of how capable she was.

"Will you two please escort Violet down to the dungeon? Apparently she doesn’t understand what house arrest means, and she is being disrespectful to our guest," Graeme said.
