Chapter 15: Conference meeting
I walked towards the conference room and through the glass wall blinds, I saw the entire senior leadership team gathered. Including Mr Sato, Kim, and Sophia.
I stopped at the door and took a deep breath, to mask up my anxiety.
Stepping into the room, all seats were already filled up and I was left standing at the front, all eyes focused on me.
’LUST! Do you think I’m in trouble?’
[Well, judging from the looks of things, you’re at the spot light]
’But I haven’t done anything interesting yet.’
[No idiot... this is the time for you to do something interesting]
’Alright then.’ I smirked slightly as I gained some confidence.
I glanced at Sophia and she looked away — face flushed with guilt and secret desires as memories of last night flashes back.
I’m even surprised she can still walk after a night like that.
My gaze shifted slightly and it landed on Kim — with a cruel little smile she was barely hiding.
[She’s the one that set this up]
’Honestly I’m not surprised. How? And why?’
[This morning while you were still asleep, I astroprojected out of your mind and overheard Kim talking to your dad....
~> "Morning honey, yesterday night when you sent me to check on kenji, he was quite excited to share a business proposal that he assured would launch the company 3x the worth of it now.
"Really? So my boy already has such great ideas for the future of our company. After work I’d like to hear it."
"No~no it doesn’t have to be after, you can call for a meeting at work." She replied, with a mischievous smile that still plotted my downfall.
"Ok. That’s a good idea." Mr Sato agreed.
[What Kim has in mind, is to have you suffer an embarrassing moment in front of your father and everyone, over your lack of incompetency at your young age]
’Wow... what a sneaky bitch she still is.’
[But not to worry, I came up with the best idea to present]
’Alright then, bring it on.’
"So Kenji! What do you have for us today?" Mr Sato asked with a bright smile.
While I stood in front of the room in a perfectly tailored suit, calm and commanding.
I plugged my flash drive into the computer projector, palms sweaty in anticipation of what it will display on screen and what I will even cook-up.
"I would like each and everyone of you to share your thoughts afterwards but please be patient." I said.
Then clicked on the video that was read to play.
An Ai version of my voice sounded from the speakers.
———
~>*Campaign Name: "Reformed Legacy*
"Core idea — A high-end lifestyle rebranding campaign that positions GoldCorp not just as a traditional banking platform, but as a modern empire that blends *heritage, power and prestige*"
"They are several key elements in making this vision possible, and the first is — Luxury Host Series: Invite top clients and prospects to join our exclusive club — private events combining high-stakes networking, premium product showcase, and personalized getaway experiences" (spa, boat parties, fine dining, and discreet high-end companionship services for VIPs)"
"This campaign is better more said to be a *Loyalty Program* that will bring together more powerful and influential men and women under GoldCorp’s provision."
"With this simple yet greatly effective program, we don’t have to offer much publicity to the masses when we have the leaders of nations, CEO’s, and NGO’s in our exclusive club...."
~>*Projected Results* (backed by "LUST" enhanced market analysis)
"56% increase in high-value client acquisition within six months — 70% in client retention — New revenue growth from the legacy proposal is projected at $50M in year one."
———
I paused the video and sighed in relief, ’thanks.’
I presented the bold new promotional campaign concept I "developed" (heavily assisted by LUST- enhanced strategy thinking).
I delivered the presentation with perfect confidence, charisma, and data.
Paul looked irritated but impressed.
Kim was absolutely left stunned as her plans were left in jeopardy, still hoping to see one more flaw that could make her plans work.
After finishing my presentation, the room was silent.
Just a few acknowledging claps echoes.
I stared at my father, Mr Sato, seated at the head of the table looking tired.
All eyes turned towards him, waiting for his response.
After Kim stole a glance at my dad and read the room’s energy — she scoffs.
Paul chuckled mockingly.
"The revenue in the first year is poorly accounted for if we are to indulge in this poorly conceived project,"
"And plus if we were to do this campaign, instead of a more cost effective way of enticing the masses, the company will suffer a huge economic loss if it fails." Paul voices.
"But we just have to give it time, I’m certain about this project Dad.. ahhem~excuse me, Mr. Sato."
I tried to recover smoothly but it was too late after Paul pointed out the flaws.
Sato sighs. "Kenji... this is sloppy. I expected better from you but you still have a long way to go."
Kim jumped in immediately, voice dripping with mocking concern.
"Oh honey, don’t be too hard on him," she said sweetly, looking straight at me. "He’s still growing. Some boys just need time to grow into their positions. Isn’t that right, Kenji? I’m sure he’ll improve when his sister starts working here too."
A few people chuckled. Paul laughed openly. The humiliation burned — especially as memories of my past life felt like it was resurfacing, and Kim still had her games working effectively.
I kept my expression calm, but inside I raged.
[I’m not surprised your dad is as foolish as you, Kenji]
’Huh! What the hell do you mean LUST!?’
[Because he doesn’t know the worth of this venture you provided. But just relax you still have the upper-hand here]
Mr. Sato stood up slowly and whispered, "But!" Suspense filled the room, heads turned in anticipation. A visible proud smile crept up on his face. "Kenji... this is brilliant. Exactly the kind of fresh vision this company has needed..."
My face lit up slowly with joy.
