Chapter 1: Back in time?
Kengi gasped out of his bed breathlessly, breathing heavy.
The pain had been unbearable moments ago, like every nerve was on fire. But slowly withered.
’What da! Did I go to hell? Why is it so bright here!’.
My breath steadied, and my vision cleared.
One minute ago, before making hard contact with the ground, I fell off from the forty second floor balcony, and the next — not in a cold dug dirt, but in the same cramped, dusty attic room that had been my prison years ago.
It was the same house I lived in with my dad while he was still alive.
"Holy shit!"
I quickly glanced at the calendar.
"2013?!"
"Thirteen years ago!"
"Wait! Did I go back in time?"
While I couldn’t conceptualize the phenomenon I found myself in.
A purple system suddenly flickered into existence.
But before its seductive voice could fully speak, fragmented memories flooded my mind like a broken glass — my tragic past rushing forward as the system itself was forcing me to confront it.
Just then, there was a loud knock on the door.
"You spoiled boy! Come out right now! How can you still be in there by this time of the day?"
That voice — that seemed to terrify me for the past thirteen years of my life.
I rushed to the door and opened it.
It’s actually her... the younger youthful version of the wicked witch herself.
My stepmom *Kim Sato* the tall, raven-haired, with curves that turned heads and a smile like poisoned honey.
’I totally see how she manipulated my dad to neglect me.’
She was everything my grieving mother, who died of cancer years ago, was not: glamorous, ambitious and cruel beneath the surface.
Despite seeing the hovering system window in my vision and the nagging squeezed face of my stepmother, I realized there’s no way it could be a dream.
’But how is this possible? Does it mean I really went back in time?’
"Why are you looking at me like that? Have you seen a ghost or what?" Kim asked, but I stayed silent.
The look in my eyes made Kim feel slightly uneasy.
"Dress up and come downstairs, your father requested to let you come with us to the company’s first jubilee party."
She swung her head back and walked off sassily.
The moment I shut the door close, the translucent box vanished.
"And what was that? Never seen that before!" I brushed through the thought like it didn’t matter, because the whole time — from the moment I opened my eyes, everything already felt weird.
After a couple minutes of waiting, I stormed into my father’s *Mr Sato* presence, and that bright glassy smile of a proud father still played on him.
I couldn’t believe I would once again see such a look on my father towards me, knowing my stepmom came between our father and son relationship.
But this time, I had the chance to possibly save my father and restore whatever I lost.
But I didn’t want to go to either of these parties. ’It’s best if I put up an act.’
"I’m feeling quite sick dad, I don’t think I wanna go." I said. Voice rasped.
"You don’t sound well either Kenji... so it’s fine, stay back and take care of yourself." My dad said and walked out with Kim and my stepsister *Mei*, into the vehicle.
While leaving, I saw the dark glare that lingered on me from Kim, through the tinted window.
I gave a knowing grin and shook my head.
I saw her startle a little bit. Probably wondering why I didn’t seem so timid and scared just like the way I used to be.
The car drove off just before I shut the massive doors shut.
A sharp pain struck at the back of my head, causing me to fall onto my knee.
The system screen fully materialized now, it’s purple glow cutting through my eyes like salvation.
Suddenly a calm feminine voice echoed in my head.

I quickly got off the floor, and tripped on the couch out of panic.
"Wait! Wait! Hold on a minute. How do you know my name?"
"What is this?"
"What the fuck is a lewd system?" I immediately lost my patience out of confusion and cursed.
"Are you the reason why I’m not dead? And now a teenage boy again!"
Three female ethereal beings materialized, each of them in their unique shapes but very petite.
One of them appeared so close, I couldn’t see anything but her sheer cleavage that bounced Obscenely.
I gasped out of shock, given the fact that I had never been really close to a female in such a manner.
[Hiii Kenji...] They all voiced in sync.
My mouth went dry, then I stole a few glances at the other girls to make sure what I was seeing was real and I wasn’t just going crazy.
"Please.. I hope you guys are not real."
[Stop it silly. We are, but... you’re the only one that can see us]
I gasped out of relief, my breath steadied even though I was somehow conversing with some extraterrestrial beings.
So far, the day couldn’t get any worse than how it’s already going: I remember falling off the balcony, then waking up in the past, and now talking with sexy women only I could see.
At this point, I couldn’t care less, I picked myself up and walked to the kitchen to make breakfast, while these beings trailed behind me.
