Chapter 261: Rohan’s Daughter
’So after all, the demon king Rohan’s little daughter was held captive here,’ Ryan thought coldly in the midst of the fight.
Ryan looked at the fragile demon girl out of the corner of his eye while deflecting the Abyssal general’s frantic attacks with total ease.
It only took Ryan a fraction of a second to deduce who she really was.
"Well then... it seems to me the right path to ambush is this way," an extremely deep and raspy voice echoed from the lower floor of the watchtower.
And just as that unknown voice finished speaking, the atmosphere became charged with heavy static.
With a sudden, upward, and destructive movement, an immense current of purple electricity cut through the thick floor, melting it instantly.
The magical lightning burst right beneath Ryan’s feet, destroying the foundation and opening a massive, dangerous breach in the center of the room that threatened to collapse everything.
Dodging the treacherous magical attack with his agility, Ryan moved at high speed, leaving only an imperceptible afterimage in the air.
He appeared almost immediately next to the wooden bed where the little girl was cowering in terror.
With a single precise slash of his sword, Ryan cut through the girl’s chains. Then, before she could react, he firmly grabbed the surprised demon girl by the waist.
Without a single moment of hesitation, and with astonishing speed that completely defied mortal limits, Ryan jumped backward out of the high tower’s broken window.
"Who are you, let me go!" the little girl screamed, totally terrified and struggling weakly in the human’s strong arms as they plummeted through the freezing air.
"Stay still," Ryan ordered her with a voice so deep, firm, and threatening that it instantly froze the girl’s blood, forcing her to squeeze her eyes shut.
The furious Abyssal general and his two newly arrived allies leaped after him without a second’s hesitation.
The three demons broke through what was left of the facade’s thick stone walls and jumped violently toward the street below in pursuit of the human.
Their heavy landing kicked up a dense cloud of snow and rock dust beneath the astonished gaze of the little demon girl Ryan still held protectively in his arms.
And all around them, the rest of the elven soldiers who were formed right below the tower were fighting fiercely against a massive horde of Principality-rank demons.
The noise of steel clashing against claws and the battle cries filled every corner of the battlefield, dyeing the virgin snow a crimson color.
In the very center of the chaotic and bloody plaza, Ryan landed flawlessly on one knee, absorbing the impact of the fall without suffering any kind of damage to his body.
He continued holding the frightened girl firmly against his chest, shielding her from stray attacks while keeping his sword ready in his right hand.
The real battle for control of the territory had already begun.
The Abyssal made his presence known right in front of him, clearing the dust with his weapon, flanked on both sides by the two Infernal-rank demons who had just destroyed the tower’s floor.
In the distance, echoing above the deafening noise of the troops and magic, the brutal roar of an intense battle was clearly perceived by the sharp ears of everyone present.
The colossal and monstrous clash of destructive forces that Queen Ophelia was carrying out against Rigal in the center of the fortress made itself known even in this distant place, making the very earth tremble with every blow from the rulers.
’I did not expect to find the demon king Rohan’s daughter held captive here. But this could be a negotiating factor.’
Ryan lowered the girl very gently and left her standing on the plaza’s cold white snow, releasing his grip.
"Do not run anywhere. I will not kill you if you follow my instructions to the letter, so just stay right here, right behind me. And without moving a single muscle," Ryan declared, giving her one last severe warning look before turning his back to her.
So, turning slowly toward his true enemies, Ryan adopted his aggressive combat stance.
"Attack both at once and do not give him a breather," the furious Abyssal ordered, pointing at the human intruder with the tip of his massive stained sword.
"Whether that bastard dodges your magical attacks like a coward, or stands still to protect the brat with his body, I will take care of everything else."
"Yes!" The two Infernals obeyed their superior’s order without a second of hesitation.
One of them raised both arms as immense purple lightning burst from his palms.
In just two short seconds of intense concentration, the loud crackle of wild energy turned into a massive, lethal ball of pure condensed electricity, ready to fry its target to ashes.
The other Infernal, standing on the far right of the formation, was charging a gigantic, burning fireball that completely illuminated the place and quickly began melting the snow at his feet due to the extreme heat.
Ryan did not take a single step back in the face of the imminent, deadly double attack coming toward him.
He quickly activated the latent skill of his gloves. Now, with both fists clenched and the hard blade of his sword ignited in dense, bright flames, he adjusted his precise frontal combat stance.
And looking at them all with the highly serious and cold expression of a ruthless hunter, like someone who was no longer there for child’s play or warm-ups.
"Debt Seal," Ryan pronounced with a deep voice that echoed in the plaza like an unavoidable death sentence handed down by the abyss itself.
Instantly, his class’s unique skill sealed the latent magic. The two massive spheres of destructive energy flickered violently before vanishing into thin air.
All that lethal, condensed magic was canceled and suppressed in a millisecond before the totally astonished, terrified, and incredulous gazes of the two fearsome Infernals.
Their supreme attacks that they had trusted so much vanished into nothingness as if they had never existed, leaving them completely vulnerable, with their arms outstretched and their brains frozen by the panic of the impossible.
That tiny moment of hesitation was all Ryan needed. In a single leap, he closed the distance with his superhuman speed.
The plaza’s cold air suddenly filled with a massive ring of blazing fire, drawn to perfection by the trajectory of his spinning sword blade.
That lethal ring of flames cleanly and without any resistance severed the three elite demons’ three dark heads, disconnecting them from their respective bodies in a single, masterful, simultaneous attack.
Expressions of absolute terror remained frozen on the generals’ faces.

The system’s multiple translucent notifications shone brightly in front of Ryan’s eyes, confirming the brutal, instant death of the enemy sentinels.
’Incredible,’ Ryan thought with a slight smile of satisfaction forming on his lips, feeling how a new, overwhelming wave of fresh power flowed through every muscle and vein in his body.
’It has been a long time since I leveled up.’
Right behind him, the little demon girl completely lost what little strength she had left in her legs and collapsed onto the snowy ground, landing in a sitting position.
Her childish eyes were wide open, trembling with fear upon witnessing such a quick and grotesque massacre by someone who did not even seem to be trying.
And the rest of the lower-ranking demons fighting around the large plaza, upon seeing their strongest leaders fall in the blink of an eye, lost all morale and were quickly massacred by Ryan’s soldiers.
"The boss is way too strong."
"Incredible, did you manage to see what he did to those high-ranking demons?"
"No... I saw absolutely nothing. After that circle of fire, everyone was dead on the ground."
Whispers of astonishment and devotion quickly began to arise among the villa’s warriors, who looked at their leader with an almost religious respect after witnessing his display of power.
Ryan ignored his troops’ praises, shook the boiling blood off his sword blade to clean it, and looked at his soldiers with undeniable authority.
"Do not stand around celebrating. Go immediately and help the rest of the squadrons that are fighting," he ordered with a firm voice, imposing discipline within his ranks.
"Yes, Your Majesty!" all the soldiers said in unison, doing a quick military bow and retreating with great speed toward the other conflict zones, leaving him totally alone in the plaza with the freed prisoner.
’Now, where will I go first...’ Ryan thought in complete silence, rubbing his chin as the wind blew the snow around him.
He evaluated the immense war zone, measuring the flow of mana explosions, and fixed his cold strategic gaze on the other seven watchtowers that still stood in the distance.
