Chapter 68: Adolescence - 22

’Ah fuck, I probably shouldn’t have done all that.’

Isshun inwardly grumbled, rubbing his stomach.

Teleporting a protein bar into his hand, he finished it off quickly, but the hunger still didn’t go away.

’...I’ll have to ask Mom to make me some extra dinner.’

In daily life, he could sustain his Omniscient Domain and carry out his Vigilante activities without any drawbacks, aside from feeling hungrier more often.

It had to be said, Shunkan Isshun was fundamentally a supercomputer that also ran on energy. However, in comparison to Nejire’s ’energy’, the energy that Isshun needed was calories to fuel his brain.

Now normally, his diet accommodated this issue.

But when doing anything that required multiple simultaneous teleportations, or needed precise teleportations, that need for calories skyrocketed.

Recently, his constant use of precise formulas for Nejire’s costume had dramatically increased his appetite.

He could force his teleportations while hungry, but it was uncomfortable.

For someone whose priority was his own comfort, hunger was something he hated.

He looked down at the unconscious girl in front of him, then took out his phone to take a selfie.

’This feels weird, but it’s the most convenient way to convince the people at the cafe I was the one who saved her.’

He did feel a bit bad for The Crawler, who looked as if he was on a mission to save Pop☆Step. She was probably close to him, judging by the determination Isshun saw through his Domain.

Too bad he needed her to build trust.

Rather, based on the feedback on his Domain, one Pro Hero in the group assigned to arrest her seemed very suspicious.

Though even if the man looked shady, he hadn’t actually done anything.

If adjusting a hat and looking devious counted as probable cause, Isshun would have already arrested him.

Maybe he should have waited a few more seconds to see whether that person would do anything befitting that shady demeanor.

He took out another protein bar and popped it into his mouth, chewing with a grimace.

"Ugh..."

The feeling of his stomach being filled but the hunger not going away was pissing him off.

As he observed Pop☆Step more clearly, Isshun understood what he was looking at.

First off.

She seemed to be under the influence of the parasitic bee in her left eye.

Second.

She had also been injected with a drug, not unlike the bioengineered people at the cafe.

Isshun raised a hand, reaching closer to Pop☆Step’s head. While rebuilding Pop☆Step’s lost left eye was basically impossible for him, since even he couldn’t create something out of nothing, there probably wouldn’t be any lasting effects...?

Not having her left eye didn’t count.

Before he started, he needed to make sure no one could distract or catch him while doing this.

He might be in an abandoned building in an area with little to no people, but from what he observed of the Pro Heroes chasing Pop☆Step, there seemed to be a person with a searching Quirk.

He didn’t know how someone with such a versatile Quirk looked like a bum, nor had he ever heard of Compass Kid until then, but there were probably inherent weaknesses to it.

Still, it’s better to be safe than sorry.

Extending his Omniscient Domain, he concluded that the minimum time he had was only seven minutes before he would need to re-extend it when calculating the potential capabilities of the Pro Heroes within his Domain.

Not applying external variables, which could further reduce that time.

’Then let the surgery begin.’

’She’s gone!?’

Following the other Pro Heroes, Number 6 had originally planned to stop them from capturing Bee☆Pop and wait for the right moment to become the savior!

And if The Crawler tried to intervene like last time, he could catch him along with ’saving’ Bee☆Pop for a perfect debut.

But before the plan could even come to fruition, someone intervened.

"It’s Blink."

The phantom of O’Clock appeared behind him, leaning on a wall.

"Blink has left their domain of influence."

It was unprecedented information.

After all, the chokehold that Blink held within their own sphere was undeniable. Not only was there basically no crime in those areas, but even the value of property in those areas had risen exponentially over the time period.

Blink not moving from their own spheres of influence, even after years had passed, was what gave Number 6 and the Villain Factory the ability to carry out their activities in Naruhata.

It was also what gave All For One the confidence to send Number 6 to Naruhata.

"The next best course of action..." The phantom O’Clock hummed. "Would be to cease activity within Naruhata until further action from Blink."

Number 6 didn’t respond, but barely visible was the bulging of his muscles and reddened eyes.

Number 6’s contingency plans for All Might and Blink were similar, but different in key ways.

As strong as All Might was, he was still human and could be fooled. Number 6 would simply need to act as an assisting Pro Hero and calmly disengage after the event ended.

Blink was a complete unknown, and even their abilities were only speculated. All For One believed Blink had some sort of ability to observe a large area of land in the form of limited omniscience.

When All For One conveyed that possibility through the phantom O’Clock, Number 6 concluded he would need to act naturally, even using the Overclock Quirk to make it feel as organic as possible.

Then he would have to vacate the premises as far and fast as possible, even if that looked suspicious to the other Pro Heroes.

Number 6’s contingency plan for Blink was filled with holes, but it was the best he could do.

After all, Blink had only left his sphere of influence once, for the Sky Egg Incident during the 3-4 years he had been active.

Until they could verify that this was an exception and Blink wasn’t coming back, the Villain Factory’s activities would have to leave Naruhata, and maybe even Tokyo.

’Shit, shit, SHIT!!! That cheater!!!’

Even though Number 6 understood Blink’s general capabilities, that experience left him feeling unfairly outmatched before he could even use his Quirk.

He could only retreat, tail tucked between his legs.

’Since when were Quirks supposed to be this strong?!’

A/N: Well... you guys will get your bonus chap this weekend.

Also, i feel like i’ve overestimated the number of people who actually know vigilantes, so I’ll probably skip the Naruhata Lockdown and end this arc soon, and use Number 6 at a later time.

One more arc or two to build up a few relationships(platonic) and an interlude and then i’ll probably time skip to canon(FINALLY).

Also, I feel like im lowkey locked in for writing rn, this chap didn’t take me that long and im bursting with ideas.

So... two ps goals then!
