Chapter 82: Making a Will
At the very least, once he obtained class skills, he would no longer need to rely entirely on weapons.
When that time came, even if his weapons were destroyed, he would still possess the ability to make one final desperate stand.
Or was it possible that class advancement would only become available after the safe zone appeared?
Life was difficult.
Joo Joowon let out a sigh.
He had originally intended to study the talent skill that appeared once Physique reached ten points, but he suddenly noticed that the black mist surrounding his character model on the game interface had disappeared at some point without him realizing it.
Because he had not been constantly monitoring his character panel, Joo Joowon genuinely had no idea when the black mist had vanished.
He carefully reviewed everything that had happened after leaving the house earlier that day and finally found the strange part.
After opening several cocoons, Joo Joowon had originally intended to leave immediately.
After all, he had no abnormal hobbies.
Once he uncovered the truth, someone with his personality would never continue opening more cocoons simply to verify with absolute certainty that his deductions were correct.
There was absolutely no benefit in doing so other than making himself feel even worse.
At the time, he had indeed planned to leave.
Yet after hesitating for a moment, he stayed behind and opened every remaining cocoon.
At the time, his reasoning had been that if any human remains had not yet been completely dissolved, then perhaps one day he could help lay them to rest properly.
At the same time, he could drag out the corpses of the unhatched baby spiders and vent his anger on them a little.
Looking back now, however, that reasoning felt rather unconvincing.
It was not that he had never considered giving them a proper burial.
Rather, specifically separating human remains from zombie remains was not something he would normally do.
Those zombies had not willingly chosen to become zombies either.
They were dead.
Why would Joo Joowon care whether they had been human or zombie before death?
If they were going to be buried, then naturally they would all be buried together.
He would never deliberately separate them into different categories.
Of course, the psychological impact at the time had been enormous.
Under such circumstances, it was perfectly normal for thoughts that differed from his usual way of thinking to appear.
That was what people meant by a momentary impulse.
Yet the result of that single momentary impulse had been a Hidden Quest, a Legacy Treasure Chest, and rewards so fortunate that they almost felt excessive.
Joo Joowon knew his own luck very well.
Every important turning point throughout his life had been filled with twists and difficulties.
Whenever he played games with gacha systems, most of the time he only obtained rewards through pity guarantees.
On the rare occasions when his luck exploded and he pulled something valuable, the rewards still could not compare to the casual pulls of truly lucky players.
His luck was painfully average.
If he relied purely on guessing during multiple choice exams, getting two or three correct answers out of ten questions would already count as a lucky day.
Because of that, it was difficult for Joo Joowon not to connect the disappearance of the black mist with everything that had happened afterward.
Could it be that Byeol had cast some sort of luck increasing buff on him?
But if it really was a luck buff, then why was it black?
The question only lingered in his mind briefly before he threw it aside.
Who cared?
As long as it increased luck, then it was a good thing.
After all, everyone knew that luck was the most intangible and mysterious attribute of all.
Yet at the same time, it was also one of the most important attributes that could never be ignored.
Joo Joowon grabbed Byeol and planted a firm kiss on his head.
After thinking for a moment, he suddenly spoke.
"System, I want to make a will!"
Ever since obtaining the Legacy Treasure Chest, this question had been lingering in his mind.
Since Blade69 had been able to leave behind an inheritance specifically designated for him, then perhaps it was also possible for players to prepare their wills in advance while they were still alive.
After all, a will was something that should be prepared ahead of time.
Not something remembered only at the moment of life and death.
[ Ding! ]
[ The system has detected that player Ashfall wishes to create a will. Would you like to immediately enter the inheritance interface? ]
It actually worked!
A look of delight immediately appeared on Joo Joowon’s face.
"Yes!"
An inheritance allocation interface appeared before him.
The entire interface was gray and dull, resembling the color of a gravestone.
...
[ Primary Heir: _____ ]
[ Available Assets: Player Qualification Token ×3, Free Attribute Points... ]
...
Without hesitation, Joo Joowon entered Byeol’s name.
Then he looked over the list of assets he possessed.
Everything recorded there consisted entirely of items he had obtained after becoming a player.
The food, medicine, and supplies he had scavenged over the past few days were nowhere to be found on the list.
The only comforting discovery was that inheritances were apparently not restricted to players.
When he selected Byeol as his heir, the system had not objected or declared the action invalid.
Seeing this, Joo Joowon immediately began arranging everything carefully.
He distributed every asset one by one and even pre allocated all future Free Attribute Points for Byeol.
That way, even if Byeol remained nothing more than an innocent little cat by the time Joo Joowon died, the system would still automatically assign the points for him.
He carefully balanced the allocation.
Agility, Physique, and Mental Power were divided evenly.
Strength, however, was largely ignored.
After all, for a cat, physical strength was never their greatest advantage.
Even if Strength increased, the effect would likely be limited.
Physique, on the other hand, was different.
Byeol had been sick before.
