Chapter 14: Level 10 Theory

Agility increased the upper limit of those functions.

Reflexes.

Muscle response.

Neural reaction speed.

All of them were related to Agility.

From this, it could be seen that players before Level 10 probably would not experience dramatic increases in power.

After all, leveling up only provided one attribute point at a time.

Yet in order to fully utilize a single attribute, players often needed support from two different attributes.

This situation would perhaps only change once players obtained classes.

The issue regarding food was also something Joo Joowon inferred from customer service’s answers.

After all, what kind of game expected players to personally search for food?

Normally, players ate at taverns, restaurants, or other similar locations within the game world.

And the scariest aspect of zombies was not that they ate people.

It was their contamination.

Who said there could not be zombies inside the water?

Zombies did not only target humans.

They targeted every living creature.

Once infected animals were killed, their blood flowing into rivers and water systems could very likely create massive contamination.

Of course, this was still only Joo Joowon’s personal speculation.

After all, the game did not even have things like HP bars, which showed that it did not completely follow normal game rules.

Perhaps it would not become that extreme after all.

Because Joo Joowon directly titled his item "Game Strategy Guide," his listing stood out especially clearly among the many expensive one silver coin listings.

At present, one silver coin was the highest possible price the Marketplace allowed players to set.

Joo Joowon had no idea how the game determined that limit.

At a time when everyone knew absolutely nothing about the game, so the information guides naturally became extremely valuable.

Very quickly, comments began appearing beneath the listing.

[ Are we even playing the same game? Did you cheat or something? What connection do you have with this game? Don’t tell me you’re one of the masterminds behind all this? ]

[ Is this real? Aren’t you just making up random information to fool people? ]

[ Forget the rest, but the third point should be true. After leveling up, I added my attribute point into Strength. Logically, an increase of one point should have been obvious, but even after adding it, killing zombies was still extremely difficult. Later, after equipping a piece of gear that added Physique, my strength suddenly increased by a huge amount. ]

[ Holy crap, this game actually has customer service? Which interface is it on? Why didn’t I see it? ]

[ Fake. I also contacted customer service, and it was exactly like those useless online shopping support agents. Endless nonsense and repeated lines. I couldn’t get a single useful answer out of it. Damn it! Don’t tell me customer service judges people by appearance too? ]

[ Above poster, maybe it actually does judge appearances. Our boss also obtained some information from customer service. The third point is correct, so the other information should probably also be true. ]

[ So can somebody tell me how to contact customer service already?! ]

[ Thanks for the guide, Ashfall. Let me add something about party systems. When cooperating to kill zombies, experience points are distributed based on contribution value, so nobody needs to worry about unfair distribution. Players who lure zombies, kill zombies, or set traps all receive experience according to their contribution. For example, if a zombie is first trapped and then killed, the player who set the trap receives the majority of the experience while the player delivering the final blow only receives a smaller share. Other methods work similarly as well. ]

[ I discovered something too. Equipment that increases Physique can actually function as emergency treatment. My child has congenital heart disease. After being frightened by his father who turned into a zombie, he nearly died. But after putting on a piece of equipment, he unexpectedly recovered without relying on medicine at all! ]

Joo Joowon was also surprised when he saw that comment.

Unless absolutely necessary, he had no intention of teaming up with other people.

This message cleared up one of his doubts and eased some of his worries about fighting bosses in the future.

After all, game bosses usually required countless players attacking together before they could finally be defeated.

If experience distribution was unfair, solo players would not even dare approach them.

However, Joo Joowon also sensed danger from this comment.

The person never mentioned equipment even once, but the level displayed behind their username was already Level 2.

That meant either the person had many teammates, allowing them to reach Level 2 despite experience being divided among many people, or they only had one or two teammates, but those teammates were extremely strong.

Since the experience was distributed by the system itself, they would not be able to funnel all of it into one player alone.

Under those conditions, reaching Level 2 either meant they had a powerful backing or exceptionally capable teammates.

And after killing that many zombies, there was no way no equipment had dropped.

The drop rate for beginner equipment was not low.

It was impossible for someone to be unlucky enough to reach Level 2 without obtaining even a single piece of equipment, right?

Therefore, the most likely explanation was that while experience was distributed equally by the system, dropped equipment was not under system control and instead had to be divided among players themselves.

That made things troublesome.

Who knew whether the system’s rules for loot distribution meant every player who participated in the battle could obtain drops, or if everyone nearby was eligible to take them?

After confirming that many people had seen the information he posted, Joo Joowon stopped paying attention to the comments.

He did not even bother opening the private messages.

Instead, he continued browsing through the Marketplace, trying to find treasure hidden among trash.

What he urgently needed right now was a long ranged weapon.

To be honest, the fire axe’s fighting style was not suitable for him at all.

Not only did it require close range combat, but the axe itself was also fairly heavy.
