Chapter 813

The only thing Anton could say regarding the spell battle between the most powerful wizards of this world and the most powerful undead creatures of the Undead Coalition was the apocalyptic massiveness of the effects of their spells. It was truly an eye-opener for him since it brought home the fact that Anton was still a novice compared to those powerful beings.

At first, Anton thought that the most powerful liches, vampires, wraiths, and different undead creatures would use the lower-ranking undead beings as cannon fodder, but just like the Semi-Divine and Divine Rank wizards from the kingdoms of men, the opening spell battle did not involve the lower ranks and was between the most powerful beings of both sides.

The spell battle between the most powerful lasted until the first casualties occurred. Captain Joraniah probably received a command somehow because he suddenly commanded everyone in Team Gorvin to follow him.

They separated themselves from the main army, and Flinx saw that they were not alone in doing so. Under the cover of the Cloak of Shadows spell that was summoned by the captain using one of the Mithril Tablets of Survival spells, they veered off to the left. Tens of teams followed suit, and they, too, used the same tablets to hide beneath the Cloak of Shadows spell.

Teams were assigned to attack the Undead Coalition’s kingdom using different routes. Team Gorvin didn’t bother attacking the lower-ranking undead that they met along the way.

When they reached one of the ziggurats, they encountered their first Supreme Rank liches, and that was when Captain Joraniah and his team started their attack.

Anton did not hold back. First of all, before going into battle, Anton respecialized his Necromancer and his Warlock abilities to a summoning build. He already informed his teammates regarding his plan, so they were aware that he would summon a lot of creatures, including undead. He also told them that they didn’t need to hold back in casting their spells because of the party system; his summons would not be affected by their spells.

He then summoned all his summons from different classes and activated the Fanaticism Aura from his Paladin character. He also started summoning skeleton soldiers and skeleton mages and used the Revive spell to revive the more powerful fallen enemies.

Anton commanded his most powerful summons, like the Valkyrie and the Shadow Master, to guard his teammates. He didn’t want any of them to fall, not because he didn’t want them to die. Every one of them was prepared to die in this battle. He didn’t want any of them to fall so that their firepower would not decrease anytime soon.

He cast his most powerful spells nonstop, targeting those that specifically targeted his teammates.

Anton's summons grew in numbers since he kept summoning once any of his summons fell, and with a lot of corpses around, he could summon skeleton warriors and skeleton mages nonstop until he had reached the maximum number of summons he could have.

The good thing about their team was that they were still under the cover of not just one, but several Cloak of Shadows to increase the covered area. Each one of Team Gorvin had their own Mithril Tablet of Survival spells, so even though the effects didn’t stack, it would increase the covered area depending on each member’s location.

A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.

Anton utilized all his spells from all of his characters, like the Barbarians shouts and war cries, the Assassin Traps, and more, but his main attack spells still came from his favorite character, which was the Sorceress.

He also kept switching his auras from the Fanaticism Aura during the most intense battle to the Prayer Aura for healing, the Meditation Aura for their mana, and the Vigor Aura to make sure that their stamina was always full.

Anton thought that their team had probably killed countless numbers of undead and tens of thousands of higher rank undead, but the battle continued. There was nothing left in Anton’s mind but to focus on casting spells and making sure that his teammates were still alright.

After several hours, there was a need to utilize the team’s plan of allowing some of the members to memorize their spells, and thanks to Anton’s Meditation Aura, it would only take a short amount of time before their spell slots were restored.

The great number of summons that Anton summoned was a great help for the team since they kept diverting the attention of the undead to them instead of focusing on the core members.

Thanks to his different auras from the Paladin’s skill tree, there was no need for Team Gorvin to retreat to rest. Their stamina and mana were always at their peak, and because of Anton’s Meditation Aura, they only needed a short amount of time to have their spell slots full of spells again.

They continued fighting without stopping, like they were some sort of machines with unlimited energy, and thankfully, the battle was so chaotic that they were not specifically targeted by the more powerful undead beings.

Once they conquered a ziggurat, meaning they killed off all the important undead at that specific location, they would move to another one. After twenty-four hours, Team Gorvin still kept on fighting.

Finally, the most powerful undead creatures noticed them. A Divine Rank lich suddenly appeared and targeted their team. It was Helena who first noticed the attack of the Divine Rank lich. She saw that the Divine Rank lich targeted Captain Joraniah and Anton and used her body to block the lich’s spells, and this caused her demise. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮

Each member of Team Gorvin was horrified when they saw Helena’s destruction, but they didn’t stop fighting. They switched to targeting the Divine Rank lich even though all of them knew that their action was futile.

Thankfully, they were rescued by a couple of Divine Rank Wizards from Nermador who started battling with the lich.

Captain Joraniah commanded everyone to flee that location and move somewhere else. They didn’t stop and targeted another ziggurat. They did not even wait to know the results of the battle between the Divine Rank wizards and the lich.

At least, they knew that the Cloak of Shadow spell would not hinder the sight of the divine rank beings.

The captain made sure that they were within the area of attack of the army of the wizards from the kingdoms of men so that Divine Rank undead creatures would not target them specifically. Still, because of their team’s fighting prowess, another powerful divine rank lich noticed them again and targeted them. That attack caused the death of Mishos. Again, the only reason that Mishos was the only one who died was that they were rescued by three Semi-Divine Wizards from New Drennor.

The deaths of two of their members did not stop Team Gorvin. Before the fight started, they had accepted the fact that there was a chance that none of them would return from the fight, but they still did not hesitate and joined in the fight.

Anton was tired of thinking about the Undead Coalition. He just wanted them gone and would give everything he had in this fight, possibly even his life.

The fight continued on, and even after several days, it didn’t stop. There was nothing left in Anton’s mind but to keep casting his spells. He also didn’t stop summoning his summons whenever one of them was destroyed. His summons helped them a lot. He also made sure that everyone was at their peak using the defensive auras from his Paladin characters.

Anton made sure not to think about his teammates who had already fallen. They could not afford to grieve since they were still in the middle of battle. Besides, there was a chance that the only people who would remain to grieve for them were the remaining living relatives that they had.
