Chapter 8: Ignifax
The Order of Veil consisted of five people.
Lord Malovik, Lady Vespera, Lord Ignatius, Lady Kaelen, and Lord Zephyr.
They were the highest bodies of the school and judged certain matters.
Each of them possessed a distinctive feature - a wild shock of white hair cascaded down Malovik’s back, while Lady Vespera’s sharp, violet eyes seemed to pierce through the dark.
Lord Ignatius’s presence radiated a warm aura, his locks blazing with a fiery red intensity.
Lady Kaelen sat with an elegant, unbothered posture, her silver-streaked hair catching the dim light, while in contrast, Lord Zephyr’s raven-black tresses exuded an air of mystery.
The five lords wore majestic royal robes, adorned with gold embroidery and precious gems, commanding reverence and awe.
Their robes were a deep, rich colour, evoking the night sky and sunset hues.
Within the heart of the school, the Order of Veil convened within the ’Veiled Sanctum’ - a spacious, dimly lit chamber filled with the whispers of ancient knowledge, books and mysterious artifacts.
A large, ornate table stood at the room’s center where the lords sat in judgment.
"Edgar Salmore! You do know that your actions are considered bullying!" Zephyr said, his focus on levitating books and putting them in order in the shelf.
Edgar gave a frustrated sigh. "But he’s not like the rest of us."
"You are right, he is not, but he’s someone better," Lord Malovik said, crossing his arms.
"Tch! Your parents will be aware of this," Lady Kaelen added, her voice cold and absolute.
Edgar’s fists clenched and his jaw tightened.
"Your rewards for the test will be withheld from you. You will not be partaking in the upcoming one and you MUST apologize to Asher when he is awake," Malovik demanded.
"Fine," Edgar confirmed, his voice hoarse.
"But if he had a Sagea all this while, why let him partake in it at all?" He asked.
The lords exchanged glances and nodded.
"Why, you ask? I am pleased to say this Edgar, that, it’s not something that should concern you," Malovik said, locking his gaze with Edgar’s before dismissing him.

Asher remained unconscious for the rest of the day with Remi by his side.
Fang and Rowan had to attend their Sagea training lessons.
Rowan’s focus kept on wavering in the lesson; his thoughts were jumbled up.
"Hey!" Fang called out, hugging Rowan from behind, and his hands wrapped around Rowan’s shoulders.
"Ack! What the hell?!" Rowan exclaimed.
Fang remained quiet as he buried his face in Rowan’s neck.
Rowan flinched and looked around the hallway where people stared at them.
"Hey, drop it, people are staring," He whispered.
Fang pulled away, scratching the back of his head and smiling. "Ah, Sorry, I was going to say-"
"Rowan!!" A girl called.
Rowan turned to see Seraphina, the granddaughter of Malovik.
A small smile appeared on his face.
Seraphina was short and cute, and had perfect curves around her hips and backside with long white hair which cascaded down her back to her waist.
Seraphina owned a white wolf, Sagea. Wolveria.
"I heard about what happened, it’s gonna be alright, all you need is time," she said, tugging his sleeve.
"You are lucky though..." She paused as she saw Fang’s face contorted with shock, anger and jealousy.
’Wow, not even making a move,’ She thought.
Rowan pulled her close, "Who told you?" He asked.
"Whoa! Calm down, rumours are going around."
Fang remained silent and shocked to see what unfolded before his eyes.
’Their bodies were touching,’ He thought.
He felt betrayed by Rowan, who didn’t even look back after getting by Seraphina.
Seraphina led Rowan to the library, where books of knowledge, spells, and magic were displayed.
"I found it," She blurted out.
Seraphina carefully withdrew a mysterious book from the shelf at the end of the library.
Its thick, black cover was unadorned by title or pattern.
As she opened it, the golden pages shimmered in the dim light.
"Oh...wow. I can finally find a way to communicate with Erebus," Rowan said, reaching out his hand to touch it.
But Seraphina pulled back.
"I can’t guarantee you that this will help you communicate with your Sagea, your bond isn’t strong enough yet," She said.
Rowan sighed, trying to grab the book from her. "Just give it already."
Seraphina pulled away again. "On one condition."
"Huh?"
"Don’t ’huh?’ me. What’s going on with you and Fang? Are you guys...." she paused to look around, "perhaps dating?" She asked in a whisper.
Rowan stumbled backwards, caught off guard by the sudden questioning.
"What?! Dating?!"
Seraphina glared.
"No! Listen, I...We would never! What makes you think that? And he’s a guy!!" He exclaimed.
She sighed and handed the book to him. "Well, things are about to get interesting."
With that said, she left to attend a meeting she was called for.
Rowan’s grip on the book tightened.
"Why did she think that?" He asked himself, his voice barely above a whisper.
Fang visited the Arcane ward again, where Remi sat on the chair beside Asher, his hand squeezed in hers.
Fang stared at them for a while, and the thought of him and Rowan together immediately crossed his mind.
’It’s better if it remains hidden,’ he thought.
"I’ll take over now, your class is about to undergo training lessons."
Remi turned around to look at him; her eyes were puffy as if she had been crying.
She felt reluctant to let go of Asher, but she did.
Fang took over, he sighed, staring at Asher who was unconscious and motionless.
"Hey, I have a question," he paused, staring at Asher’s peaceful face as the golden sun rays reflected on his hair which seemed to be brighter than before.
"Has Rowan ever liked a guy?" He asked but got silence as a response.
He let out a sigh, as if he were about to tear up. He clenched his fists and hit them against the hardened part of the bed and lowered his head.
Rowan stood outside the ward, his hands trembling slightly, not knowing how to process what he had just heard.
’How will I face him now?’ He thought.

The Umbrax students had progressed in their training, some had advanced their techniques, and others’ levels increased.
"I expect more from you, Remi Faye," the instructor said.
Remi nodded, but felt seething rage within herself.
She had put all her effort into transparency magic, but in the instructor’s eyes, she hadn’t done enough.
Her stats screen suddenly appeared.
[Congratulations!!]
[Name: Remi Faye]
[Age: 15 years old]
[Level: 112>>>]
[New Level Power up: 115!]
[Mana shield 20% increased stability]
[New power unlocked: Hydrowave]
[Feral Frenzy: Achieved!]
"This...is unexpected," she blurted out. Not expecting to see such results.
Other students began to murmur things like, "You sure she hasn’t got a Sagea as well?"
And others said, "She’s friends with the cheat."
