Chapter 96: LOVE BATTLE
Felix forcefully slipped his tongue in her mouth and he readied himself to get bitten but the bite never came so he continued to kiss her until he suddenly felt a kick in his groin.
"Ahh", he quickly released her and held his balls tightly as he groaned in pain. "Why would you do that?" He asked her as he tried to stand the pain.
"Because am not your property for you to play with in that manner. Next time you try such a thing, you will be loosing a tooth", Monica threatened with a glare. She was about to walk away again but Felix grabbed her hand again.
"Why are you so heartless?" He asked her. "You could have just punched me or pushed me away, you didn’t have to result to this level of violence. If I end up becoming impotent, it’s on you", he said.
"Can you just stop touching me?" She tried to yank her arm away again but it only made it tighten his grip.
Felix placed his hand on her chin to her lift her head up. "Do you really not love me anymore, Monica?" He asked.
"I don’t", she replied as she stared back into his blue eyes. Only she knew how much she wanted him to continue touching her and kissing her but she couldn’t let him know about her thoughts. She didn’t want to seem like an unfaithful girlfriend towards Jake.
"Are you sure about that?" Felix asked her. His hands leaving her arm to wrap itself around her waist.
Felix was about to lean his head again to capture her lips but he was abruptly shoved away from her. "What the heck?" He caused at Jake who was glaring at him.
"How dare you try to kiss my girlfriend?" Jake questioned Felix. Jake confronted Felix, enraged by his attempt to kiss Monica. Monica, caught in the middle, felt a mix of shock and guilt. If only he knew that the both of them had already shared a kiss.
Monica’s world turned into a living nightmare as she found herself caught between two flames. On one side, her ex-boyfriend, Monica, the one whom she still loves. On the other, her current boyfriend, Jake, the one she’d grown to love.
The tension between them was palpable, the air thick with anticipation. Felix, his blue eyes dark and cold as ice, dared Jake to step forward. Jake, his jaw clenched tight, ready to defend his girl.
Suddenly, Jake lunged forward, fists flying. Felix met his attack head-on, their bodies colliding with a heavy thud. They rolled on the ground, grappling and punching, their fury fueling their movements.
Sweat glistened on their foreheads as they fought for dominance.
Monica watched from the sidelines, her heart pounding in her chest. Tears streamed down her face, not just from fear but from the painful realization that she’d brought this upon herself.
She tried to intervene, to stop them, but her trembling legs betrayed her.
Felix and Jake broke apart, panting heavily. Felix sneered at, "You think you’re better than me, huh?"
Jake’s eyes blazed with determination, "I’m not here to prove anything, Felix. I’m just trying to protect what’s mine from the likes of you."
Their fight resumed, this time more intense than before. They were no longer just fighting each other, they were fighting for Monica’s heart. Felix managed to get the upper hand, pinning Jake to the ground. As he raised his fist to deliver a knockout blow, Monica screamed, "STOP!"
Monica, her voice shaking, pleaded, "Please, just stop. Both of you." Tears mixed with anger as she looked from one determined face to another.
Felix hesitated, glancing at Monica before reluctantly backing away from Jake. Derek slowly got up, his chest heaving in and out as he tried to catch his breath.
For a moment, there was silence. The air around them seemed to crackle with tension, the aftermath of their brutal fight. Monica moved cautiously towards Jake, her hand reaching out to touch his arm gently.
He looked at her, his eyes filled with unspoken words. "I’m sorry, Monica," he whispered, his voice hoarse from exertion. "I never wanted it to come to this."
Monica sighed, leaning into Jake’s embrace. "Neither did I," she confessed, her voice muffled by his shirt.
As they pulled apart, Felix turned away, a mix of hurt and anger etched on his face. He muttered something under his breath and stormed off, leaving behind a heavy silence.
Jake wrapped an arm around Monica, pulling her close. "Let’s go back," he said.
With a nod, Monica took a deep breath, letting it out slowly. "Let’s go," she said, her voice steadying.
And so, they walked away from the ruins of their fight, holding onto each other amidst the chaos and uncertainty that followed. As the walked, Monica turned back to look for Felix but he had already disappeared.
The couple returned to the hotel that they had booked for their stay until they returned.
Even though the fight had been settled, that doesn’t mean another won’t arise.
Monica reaches for the wardrobe and retrieved a first aid box to tend to Jake’s angry wounds.
"Please sit down," she instructed Jake and he obeyed. Jake sat on the soft cushion of the bed, his clothes drenched in sweat and dust from when Felix had pinned him to the ground.
Shaking, Monica opened the box and brought out spirits and cotton swabs. She started by wetting the swabs with the spirit before attempting to clean the bruises but he roughly caught her hand, pausing her actions.
She stared at him with wide eyes, filled with questions.
Jake stared at her intently with emotions such as anger, pain etched on his face. He opened his mouth to speak,
"Tell me the truth, Monica. Do you still have feelings for Felix?"
Monica’s heart skipped a beat upon the question that she had not expected Jake to ask but she had to come true to herself.
