Chapter 34: PDA
Peter felt the heavy breeze that passed before him and in a blink of an eye, Ethan has vanished.
Where could he have gone to? Peter asked himself. His boss has never left the office in a haste before, no matter the situation but now he ran like flash in one of those marvel movies. Peter only shook his head and picked up the papers that had fallen down due to the heavy human-made wind.
Ethan on the other hand didn’t care about his image or anything as ran to his private elevator, clicked the floor to where his under ground parking lot was and entered his car after the elevator reached. The driver was not in the car and he didn’t even bother to look for him as he jumped right in and drove away.
The Walters family had already arrived at their mansion and Sophie decided to prepare a huge dinner feast for the family. Erika wanted to help in the kitchen but Sophie chased her away saying that she just got discharged from the hospital and needed to rest.
James was the one who helped his wife also with the help of some of the servants around. Daniel pulled Michael at one corner of the wall and asked, "So what? Did you text him already?"
"Yeah but no reply yet, maybe he is scared", Michael replied with a slightly disappointed look on his face.
"If he didn’t reply, then that must mean that he is on his way here, right?" Daniel asked Michael.
"Are you asking me? I just said he didn’t reply, how do you expect me to know if he is on his way here", Michael asked Daniel back in an agitated tone.
"Calm down. Call his secretary."
"Why?" Michael asked.
Daniel rubbed his forehead like he just received a splitting headache from talking to a kid who couldn’t understand him. "To ask if he is still in the office!" Daniel replied.
"Oh yeah!" Michael responded and then took out his phone from his trouser pockets and phoned Peter. When the line connected, he asked where Ethan was and Peter replied that he wasn’t in his office and he didn’t know where he went. Peter also told Michael about the speed at which Ethan used to leave the office and then Michael hung up on the call.
"What did he say?"Daniel asked Michael immediately.
"He said Ethan has left the office since 2 hours ago", Michael informed.
"Since 2 hours? It’s too long!" Daniel replied. They were the ones who had sent Ethan a message saying that his future father in law wanted to talk to him about his interest in their sister. They exaggerated the whole thing to make it sound like he was going to face a battle and will have to win the challenge of satisfying his future father in law.
Felix noticed his brothers whispering to each other at the corner but he didn’t want to be involved in whatever it was because it could only bring trouble to him.
Erika was in her room upstairs, hugging her pillow tightly and inhaling the fresh floral scent. She has missed her room so much that she has forgotten how it smelled like because of the medicinal smell she had been inhaling since she was in the hospital.
Then she picked up her phone to check if there were any new messages or particularly from Ethan. But there was nothing. She tossed her phone away and then went to take shower.
Erika stood in front of the mirror, combing her hair when a servant came to call her down for dinner.
At the dinner table, the servants were bringing out the dishes that had been prepared. Erika stared at the dining table with her mouth wide open. Her mom wasn’t kidding when she said she was going to make a big dinner feast. There were at least 20 different kinds of dishes on the table and they were also in big portions as well. It was a good thing the dinner table was large enough to occupy every plate.
The brothers have already sat down waiting for their mom and dad since they had gone to take a shower so that they wouldn’t smell like food. When they were also done, they went down and sat down on the table and everyone started eating.
"Wow mom, your food is so delicious!" Daniel complimented his mother.
"Thanks hun", she replied to him.
"Yeah, we have been away for a while now that it feels like I have been starved for so long after tasting this", Michael said biting down on his meal.
"Oh don’t be silly now", Sophie said jokingly.
Erika joined in, "Seriously mom, this is too delicious".
Sophie accepted all their compliments and they continued to dig in until the door bell rang. They all paused their actions wondering who it could be. Micheal and Daniel shared looks.
A servant went to open the door and then Ethan walked him.
Ethan saw that the whole family was having dinner together and felt awkward for interrupting them. He looked at Erika who stared at him in shock. He handed the shopping bags to the servant who opened the door for him and then greeted everyone, "Good evening".
They all replied in unison. All of them looked at each other awkwardly but Sophie who didn’t know anything didn’t feel awkward. Instead she invited Ethan a seat and then served him a plate of food. "Go on, eat", she urged him and Ethan began eating.
James eyes were on Ethan the whole time that he walked in and he noticed the boy seemed to be nervous. He also didn’t miss the eye contact the he and his daughter shared.
Ethan eat but stopped when he noticed that Erika had stopped eating. He brought the dishes closer and started picking out food and placing it in her plate when she has not even finished the first plate yet but he knew that she would though.
This action of his brought him a lot of attention from around the table and Erika as well but he still continued to do it.
James was a little surprised about this sudden PDA and then asked, "Ethan, do you love my daughter?"
