Chapter 181: HELP

Ethan stared at them one after the other, only remembering a few faces and held up an eyebrow when he looked at the ones he didn’t remember.

Michael immediately explained to everyone everything that Dave had said which broke Ethan’s mother.

"I know that you all must be worried about me but that’s not the main issue here," said Ethan before turning to Michael. "How long do I have to be here?" he asked.

"At least until your wounds heal," the latter replied and Ethan nodded in understanding but he didn’t have the time to waste until his wounds healed. The thirst to punch Adrian’s scum face urged.

He faced Felix and asked this time, "When you tried to trace Adrian’s van, where did it lead you?"

"To nowhere," he replied.

That’s exactly what I guessed, Ethan thought to himself. They needed a more capable tracking device and Ethan knew that person that was very good in situations like this.

When his men reported to him about Adrian’s movements, it only showed that he went to the club and nowhere else so how was he capable of making his movements untraceable?

"The club," Ethan suddenly said, making everyone’s eyes turn to him.

"What club?" Mr Anderson was the one to ask.

Ethan had been so relaxed that he didn’t tell his men to inspect that club. That wasn’t an ordinary club, he believed. No wonder the report given to him about Adrian’s movements was clean. For the man to go there every day and suddenly have the connections to make himself untraceable, he wasn’t in an ordinary club.

"Adrian visits a club regularly and I believe that he will be there," he replied.

Everyone held a look of confusion on their faces and his mother asked,

"What do you mean by regularly? Did you follow Adrian?"

Ethan shook his head, "No Mom but there was a time that...." He explained to everyone about the coincidences of Adrian leaving the Anderson building when he and Erika left as well and the day he followed them which led him to ask his men to do their jobs. They didn’t do their job well.

’That means that Adrian has been in the city for a long time,’ everyone had the same thought.

"So what you are saying is there is a possibility that Adrian has been going to that club for a specific reason?" Felix asked. When Ethan responded to his question by giving a brief nod, he asked the question that followed, "So all we just have to do is go to the club and snob around?" He received another nod from Ethan as confirmation.

Ethan and Erika had not informed the family members about Adrian’s sudden presence in the city because they thought that the man wouldn’t bring this much trouble to them but apparently, it seemed they had underestimated Adrian.

Everyone glanced at each other with questionable eyes. If the club was going to help with their investigation, then that club would be their first clue.

"We will head to the club in disguise and snob around for that jerk," said Daniel with a determined voice.

"That’s good. I will join..."

"Are you stupid? Didn’t you hear what the doctor said earlier?" Felix questioned Ethan. "You have a bullet in your head so you can’t be involved in this investigation and also, remember that we faked your death to the media so Adrian is probably rejoicing, thinking that you are dead but when you show your face in that club, he will find out the truth," he tried to convince him.

As much as Ethan wanted to ignore Felix’ words, there was some truth to it if he thought about it carefully. The whole media thinks he is dead and Adrian wouldn’t be too cautious about his actions, this was the perfect time to make that fool pay.

"I hear ya," said Ethan. He wouldn’t join in the investigation, not only because he was injured or had a bullet in the head. But because he needed to be in good health so that after he rescues Erika from Adrian’s clutches, she wouldn’t be too worried about him. Oh, Erika! He suddenly remembered her blue eyes that seemed to sparkle whenever she laughed and her blonde hair that shone even brighter under the sun.

This was the first time that they had been away from each other after being together and although they had been together most of the time since they returned to New York, he missed her badly.

That ex-husband of hers who mistreated her several times, cheated on her, and reduced her value as a human suddenly comes back after they had believed that he wouldn’t dare to, kidnapped her.

If Adrian was regretting his actions towards Erika then that shouldn’t lead to him having feelings for her. They were already divorced anyway.

Not that he was afraid that Erika would fall in love with Adrian even though they had been married for 3 years before, he was afraid that Adrian would turn into a psycho and harm her. That, he wouldn’t accept.

The whole family, mostly the young men, discussed the plan to visit the club the next day.

Mrs Anderson didn’t want to leave her son behind but was pulled away by her husband so that she could give him the chance to rest. Even though they were surprised that Ethan could survive with a bullet in the head, they still appreciated the fact that he survived. Hopefully, he will be able to remember them all.

After everyone departed from there and left for their homes, Ethan was handed a new phone and he didn’t waste any time making a phone call to the person whose assistance he needed at that moment.

At a barrack where soldiers were trying as much as possible to breathe in as much oxygen as they could, the atmosphere was functional and regimented, fostering discipline and cohesion among the soldiers.

"I’m disappointed in all of you," a man spats out with a tone filled with disappointment directed to the juniors. He was dressed in an army uniform which was in the color of forestry green to blend with nature. A green cap on his head protects him from the sunlight and heavy black booths that create faint thuds whenever he marches on the ground.
