Chapter 396: Chapter 386: Only He Can
Chloe Simpson lay quietly on the stretcher, listening silently to everything around her.
Old Sir of Johnson Family, Soren Johnson, sat upright in the center of the sofa, with Liam Johnson standing beside him, while Gabriella Dyer was seated on the sofa next to the old sir.
"Alexander, from today on, you don’t need to go anywhere. Just stay at home and reflect on yourself. Don’t worry about the hospital for now."
"Alan has already booked a flight ticket and will be back in three days. He can handle the matters at the hospital."
After saying this, the old sir looked at Chloe Simpson: "As for Miss Simpson, if you need to recuperate, you can stay at the Johnson Family to recover."
"After all, it was our Johnson Family’s fault this time. If you need any compensation, just ask. However, don’t harbor any unrealistic expectations."
"Alright, thank you, sir. I will think about it carefully."
Chloe lay expressionless on the stretcher, nodding slightly.
Since the Johnson Family offered compensation, it would be foolish not to take it.
Besides, she needed to think carefully about what kind of compensation she wanted.
Alexander Johnson thought his grandfather would once again do something to the family, but upon seeing the old sir give such instructions, he secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
However, Liam was enraged by his son’s reaction, feeling a surge of anger.
He felt he had raised an inept son.
How could he let himself be brought to such a miserable state over a woman?
Gabriella Dyer, on the other hand, was quite satisfied with the situation.
After all, Alexander Johnson’s era was over.
Given the current circumstances, it would be difficult for him to rise again.
As for Alan Johnson, he was merely the old sir’s illegitimate son.
A child born from an outsider wouldn’t stir up much trouble, especially with the old lady around.
The old lady would never allow a child born from an outsider to take over the Johnson Family.
So, the only possible future heir of the Johnson Family could be her son, Gary Johnson.
It’s time for Gary to come back.
Thinking about her son, Gabriella felt a headache from anger.
Despite her talent in business and never losing out to men in tactics,
how could she have such an unmotivated son?
Since childhood, Gary had a passion for painting and aspired to be an artist.
He spent years traveling worldwide, gathering inspiration, refusing to return home to inherit the family business no matter the circumstances.
In the past, she tolerated it, aiming to deal with Alexander, biding her time.
With the old sir overseeing everything, she dared not act overtly.
Now that Alexander is out of favor with the old sir, he’s no longer an obstacle.
The time has finally come.
She couldn’t afford to let her son indulge any longer.
The only rightful heir to the Johnson Family is her son, Gary Johnson.
Otherwise, the Dyer Clan, having only her as a daughter, would benefit others.
Alexander knees there, saying nothing, just listening to the old sir’s directions.
After everything was settled, he finally spoke slowly, "Grandfather, there’s something I wish to discuss with you."
"Alright, come to the study."
Soren Johnson glanced at Liam and Gabriella before getting up and heading upstairs to the study.
Alexander followed closely behind, heading upstairs as well.
Feeling frustrated with his son’s actions, the sight of the ignited tensions in the living room only fueled Liam’s anger, prompting him to turn and head upstairs to his room.
Gabriella cast a glance at Chloe Simpson but said nothing more.
Her current priority was to urgently summon her son back.
Just as Gabriella reached upstairs, picking up her phone to make a call, there was a knock on the door.
"Who is it?"
"Me."
Upon hearing the voice, Gabriella went to open the door, surprised to see it was Liam Johnson.
Since the past incident, the two had been sleeping in separate rooms.
Aside from putting on a show in front of others, they had long been estranged, sharing a bed in name only.
Liam seldom came to her room.
Seeing Liam at the door, Gabriella was taken aback, furrowing her brow, she asked.
"What’s up?"
Despite everything, Gabriella, the sole heir to Kyohai’s largest private bank, was full of pride in her excellence.
She never yielded to Liam Johnson.
"Bring Gary back."
Liam, seemingly accustomed to this attitude, spoke plainly, stated his purpose for knocking, then turned to leave for his room.
"..."
Gabriella was taken aback.
She stood there, staring at Liam’s departing figure, lost in thought for a long time.
