The scent of sandalwood wafts gently, permeating from inside the temple to the outside, resembling a white river flowing slowly. Accompanied by waves of Buddhist mantras, it gradually calms the restless thoughts of the people.
The palpable tension among the crowd lessens considerably as they jostle against one another.
Chen Yi briefly recalls that Yin Tingxue had mentioned twice how to emerge from the World of Ignorance: once by experiencing enlightenment and subsequently leaving the Five Poison Dead Tree, and once when she revealed that she had emerged because she had resolved the ignorance.
There is no contradiction between the two,
It's just…
Chen Yi is somewhat puzzled because, if Yin Tingxue had indeed emerged from the ignorance due to resolving it, how come every step along the way, all he sees is the manifestation of her ignorance?
Did she truly resolve the ignorance?
Another point is that, throughout the journey, only her ignorance has manifested, whereas both Donggong Ruoshu and himself have not displayed any manifestation of ignorance. If Donggong Ruoshu were the same, it would be understandable, as this stupid girl has always had a big heart. But for someone like him, who has not been particularly broad-minded since he reincarnated, harboring countless obsessions, he has never seen such a manifestation.
Chen Yi previously thought a few times about manifesting the scene where the group of women shared the same bed, inviting the Lord into his trap. Yet, after thinking for a long time, he couldn't see even the faintest shadow, making it difficult not to notice the anomaly.
At the very least, it should allow him to slightly manifest this blackened Little Fox here. Why is it that the heart's desires tied to the ignorance go unfulfilled?
The only plausible explanation is the Saintess identity of Yin Tingxue, or maybe...
Chen Yi once again surveys the scene, feeling a growing sense of doubt.
"The Bodhisattva is truly manifesting!"
"The Bodhisattva moved again! Such mercy from the Bodhisattva, descending to save people!"
Suddenly, surprised exclamations echo within the hall, and everyone's attention is diverted as the crowd at the front becomes evidently eager, rushing towards the Great Hall.
Chen Yi slightly raises his eyebrows at the mention of "Bodhisattva" at this juncture, urging caution.
Using his movement technique quietly, Chen Yi moves to one side of the hall entrance to a corner, peering through the narrow gaps in the jostling crowd to look inside the Great Hall.
In the depth of the hall, a towering Lotus Platform stands tall, a giant Buddha statue bathed in the collective light of numerous candles.
The Buddha statue, entirely presented in a profound and translucent glazed gold, is distinct from the ordinary golden body seen in the mundane world, with an introverted splendor.
The statue's left hand is placed before the navel, holding a medicine bowl that appears empty yet seems to be filled with nectar capable of alleviating suffering. Its right hand naturally drops, forming the Fearless Seal, with fingers gracefully rounded as if overcoming suffering and saving lives.
Chen Yi has always been indifferent to objects of the Buddhist Sect; when the Little Fox usually chants Buddhist texts, he cannot help but fight off sleepiness, falling into a deep sleep and wasting her sincere efforts. Whenever she occasionally complains about her earnest dedication and his inattentiveness, he would give a carefree smile and act nonchalantly, though deep within, her serious profile and slightly disappointed expression would stir an indescribable sense of guilt in him like a small worm nibbling
Staring at the Buddha statue, Chen Yi gathers his thoughts, and his gaze becomes sharp.
However, having gone through so much, no matter how indifferent, Chen Yi recognizes the Buddha statue before him as the Medicine Buddha Statue, precisely the Buddha Fruit prepared by Medicine Buddha for Yin Tingxue.
The Medicine Buddha Statue manifesting in the World of Ignorance, as well as this dharma assembly, are undoubtedly not coincidences.
As Chen Yi ponders over it, looking at the increasingly numerous people rushing towards the hall, the Bodhisattva being praised for its manifestation truly seems to visibly move.
Chen Yi's pupils slightly contract, and he naturally won't miss this detail, yet as he intends to move closer for a detailed view, a voice comes from behind.
"This female patron, you possess the Buddha's appearance!" A soft exclamation arises from nearby, and amidst the noisy crowd, Chen Yi as a Martial Artist instantly captures it. He turns sharply to see an elderly monk in a kasaya, with a face full of astonishment, scrutinizing Yin Tingxue.
The old monk is entirely gray-haired, draped in a red golden thread kasaya just a few steps away, hands clasped together, with clear eyes full of undisguised surprise, intently observing Yin Tingxue as if witnessing something incredible.
As the old monk begins to move forward, a tall shadow suddenly descends, standing between him and Yin Tingxue, entirely shielding the girl.
Chen Yi speaks in a cold and watery tone, "Leave."
A simple and direct word.
"Bold! How dare you disrespect Master Huiming!"
A young monk behind the old monk immediately glares, taking a step forward to argue.
The elderly monk, known as Master Huiming, gently raises his hand to stop him. His demeanor is calm, and he even instructs the young monk, "Do not be rude, nor violate the precepts. Apologize to this patron."
Although the young monk is dissatisfied, he follows instructions, clasping his hands and bowing to Chen Yi.
Master Huiming's gaze finally shifts to Chen Yi, examining him closely for a moment, with his surprised expression intensifying. He unexpectedly blurts out, "Strange, strange! Patron, you… you also possess the Buddha's appearance!"
(Chen Yi first pauses at this, then chuckles, asking casually if he too possesses the Buddha's appearance. Is the Buddha's appearance so worthless, or perhaps, what kind of Spirit Mountain Treasure Land is this?)
Chen Yi pauses upon hearing this, then a mocking smile curls at his lips. His eyes sweep over the surrounding clamor, his tone playful: "Oh? I also possess the Buddha's appearance? When did the Buddha's appearance become so worthless? Or, is this temple some kind of Spirit Mountain Treasure Land where Buddha's appearances can be picked up everywhere?"
