Chapter 1266: Chapter 693: Instant Flower (Double-Length)
The sword edges intertwined, and a shower of sparks exploded in the dim hall. Even without any defenses in his heart, Chen Yi’s sword still unsheathed, blocking the fierce attack of the opposing sword.
The scattered sparks crackled brightly, brushing past the girl’s eyes filled with murderous intent, and splashed towards Chen Yi, causing his cheeks to feel a bit hot.
The clash of swords came to a momentary pause as Yin Tingxue flipped her wrist suddenly, pressing down on Chen Yi’s sword edge and then thrusting powerfully again.
Chen Yi had not anticipated the sudden assault, but now he reacted, his wrist dancing as well, the sword light flickering, maneuvering around Yin Tingxue’s sword edge to whirl and form sword flowers.
The Sword Intent World silently spread outward, enveloping Yin Tingxue’s sword within moments. Seeing the situation was not favorable, the girl’s strength seemed like a mud ox entering the sea, sinking deeper and deeper. She stepped back, her figure retreating violently, as the dispersed Sword Qi made the hall sizzle.
Chen Yi rarely saw Yin Tingxue wielding a sword. He always protected the girl well, and there were scant opportunities for Yin Tingxue to strike during their journey down Lower Dragon Tiger. More often, he watched her practice swordsmanship, his eyes bright, causing the Little Fox to feel shy. Several times she asked him not to stare, but he always claimed it was the senior brother guiding the younger sister. And what was wrong with that? His words were grandiose indeed, but he was never really focused, more on the sweat droplets on her neck, imagining her damp armpits afterward. When she finished practicing, he carelessly pushed her sweat-drenched self onto the bed, and even recalling it later, it was an unforgettable pleasure.
Yin Tingxue, even after being bullied and thinking he was awful, endured it willingly, feeling a bit aggrieved afterward and persuading him not to be like that. Every time, Chen Yi couldn’t resist her request, as she knew best how to whisper sweet nothings in his ear.
Because of this, when Chen Yi saw Yin Tingxue then, he instinctively had no guard, nearly allowing the previous sword to pierce through him.
The girl took two deep breaths, her eyes tight, her expression icy, staring coldly at the man before her.
Chen Yi was also looking at her, snapping out of his daze, lowering his eyes, holding the sword horizontally in front of him.
"Illusion?"
"Illusion?"
They both spoke almost simultaneously.
Chen Yi slightly furrowed his brow, puzzled for a moment, the girl opposite him seemed to focus her mind too. She vaguely felt that Chen Yi’s emotions mirrored hers.
Yin Tingxue gripped the sword handle tightly, her eyes were full of surprise and doubt, mixed with murderous intent.
He should have already been dead...
Chen Yi saw the girl as if facing a great enemy, puzzled indefinitely, and couldn’t help but wonder if he sincerely wished it so. Had he summoned Yin Tingxue, or was it merely an illusion created by the World of Ignorance before him?
His genuine emotions fell sharply into Yin Tingxue’s ear, the girl’s gaze sharply narrowed, as if realizing something.
Indeed, he truly was dead.
Killed by her own hands; there was no mistake, and the one before her was nothing but a phantom of the World of Ignorance.
Thinking of this, Yin Tingxue gripped the sword more tightly, her body bent slightly forward, like an arrow about to leave the string, ready to strike.
Chen Yi paused slightly, the killing intention in her eyes unexpectedly familiar,
He furrowed his brow, almost instinctively saying, "Yin Tingxue, what’s wrong with you, like your Sister Weiyang, is your backside itchy too?"
As soon as the words fell, the figure suddenly erupted, the sword edge like a stroke of black lightning sweeping in to kill.
In an instant, it was directly at his face. Chen Yi sidestepped to evade, the sword blade grazed across his chest, slashing through the Gang Wind. Before the wind halted, Yin Tingxue’s sword sliced across again, going straight for the throat.
Since when did the Little Fox become... so formidable?
The thoughts flashed by quickly, Chen Yi’s brow furrowed tightly. In such brief exchanges, he could see Yin Tingxue’s Martial Arts Realm was extraordinary. The Sword Dao of Yin Sword Mountain wasn’t a speedy swordsmanship. Even though she had the Heavenly Ear Technique, it couldn’t be honed to such a level in a short time. Just this one sword was already nearing the Third Rank.
Chen Yi raised his sword to block, the clash of swords emitting a harsh scraping sound. He exerted force with his wrist, pressing her sword down by half an inch, then smoothly slashing toward her sword-wielding hand.
Yin Tingxue stepped back and withdrew her wrist, the sword edge rotating, dissolving the attack while simultaneously piercing his heart.
"Are you serious?" Chen Yi blocked and retreated, the sword light weaving a silver web in front of him.
Yin Tingxue didn’t answer, her attacks were even faster.
Her swordsmanship was more fierce than remembered, each strike simple and deadly, without ornamentation. Chen Yi was familiar with Yin Sword Mountain’s swordsmanship, but hadn’t seen such vicious techniques. Now, it seemed that the intent was to take his life.
The sword tip grazed his throat again, Chen Yi finally sunk his expression completely.
He no longer gave ground, the sword momentum changed suddenly, shifting from defense to offense, the metallic clashing sounds dense like sudden rain, and sparks flew in the dim hall.
The two swords opposed each other again, the pair standing face-to-face in a deadlock, the sword blades emitting screeching sounds.
Chen Yi stared into her eyes, coldly saying, "Do you want to kill me?"
Yin Tingxue exerted force with her wrist, shaking off his sword, thrusting directly again: "You should have died a long time ago."
Chen spun aside to avoid, the sword edge grazing past his ribs, leaving a string of Blood Pearl, slightly painful. Yet, he used her forward momentum not yet halted to slice at her shoulder.
Yin Tingxue was slightly slow in her defensive maneuver, her sleeve getting cut open, but Chen Yi quickly stopped the sword momentum to prevent her from getting hurt.
The pair each stepped back half a step, panting and facing each other.
Yin Tingxue glanced at the opening on her shoulder, her gaze growing even colder.
"Illusions don’t bleed." Chen Yi shook the sword in his hand, "I’m not an illusion, and neither are you."
Yin Tingxue tightened her grip on the sword, a flash of confusion appeared in her eyes, but was soon covered by murderous intent. She raised her sword again, the tip trembling slightly, ready to strike.
"Who knows if I’m not in the Illusion Realm?"
