Chapter 1240: Chapter 674: No Cluttered Thoughts (Double Chapter)
Yin Weiyin walked slowly through the winding corridors of the Prince Mansion.
She originally intended to seek out Qin Yue, offering him some care, after all, he was her first child, and no matter what, she should show some concern, but unfortunately, the inner courtyard of the Prince Mansion was vast and complex in layout. She was new here, making it difficult to navigate.
The female crown pretended to admire the scenery, asking a passing maid who was carrying clothes where Qin Yue resided with an elegant pose.
However, the maid merely lowered her eyes respectfully, offered her a courtesy bow, and said, "This servant does not know," before hastily withdrawing. She asked two or three more people in succession, who all had similar reactions, either vague replies or directly avoiding her with apologies.
Yin Weiyin understood that this must be due to Qin Qingluo or her loyal Princess issuing strict orders beforehand, preventing her, an outsider, from approaching that child...
Since force would be futile, it would be better to first familiarize herself with the mansion’s layout; there would be other opportunities to strategize in the future.
She simply decided to stroll around, taking note of the locations of pavilions, towers, waterside pavilions, and floral courtyards along the way.
The Prince Mansion was grand in scale, different from the courtyard structures she was familiar with in the Capital City, exhibiting more solemnity and spaciousness.
After turning through several Moon Cave Gates, she arrived near a somewhat secluded courtyard and stopped slightly, her delicate nose gently twitching.
There lingered a familiar scent in the air,
like... Chen Yi’s scent...
Yet Yin Weiyin knew that Chen Yi had gone to enjoy himself with Qin Qingluo last night, so he definitely wasn’t here. Since that was the case, could this be the guest courtyard he usually stayed in at the Prince Mansion?
She looked up with a keen eye. She saw this courtyard, shrouded in green bamboo, arranged with a fresh and elegant touch, exuding an ancient feel amid its simplicity, contrasting with the majestic solemnity of the main buildings she had seen along the way.
The female crown couldn’t help but feel moved, her lips curling into a very faint smile.
Could it be that Chen Yi deliberately requested this guest courtyard from Qin Qingluo for her? Perhaps so; his affection often reveals itself in unknown minute points...
She walked slowly into the courtyard, wanting to look more closely.
The courtyard was quiet, with only the rustle of the wind passing through the bamboo leaves. While observing, she suddenly noticed a slight movement behind her, a presence that did not belong to the tranquil atmosphere of the courtyard.
Yin Weiyin felt at ease, not alarmed, and calmly turned around.
A grotesque face suddenly appeared close to her nose.
Who else could it be but Donggong Ruoshu?
Yin Weiyin didn’t even blink, her tone flat and calm, "Miss Donggong, how do you happen to be here?"
Though she was not very surprised by Donggong Ruoshu’s appearance, considering how Chen Yi’s nature was to protect all the women he knew under his wings, having returned to the Prince Mansion, he naturally wouldn’t leave this stupid girl outside unattended, no matter that nothing serious seemed to have happened between them.
Donggong Ruoshu felt it was boring not to scare her, scratched her head, and instead questioned in surprise, "Immortal Lady Yin? What are you doing here? Did Chen Yi bring you here?" She blinked and suddenly thought of something, then asked, "Then... then why didn’t he bring Lady Lin?"
Yin Weiyin immediately understood though she showed a slightly fitting sense of helplessness, softly saying, "Lin entered recently; in his heart... he might not attach much weight to her yet. It’s normal for him to overlook her."
Donggong Ruoshu nodded, thinking it indeed made sense.
The female crown, taking the opportunity, naturally turned the conversation, appearing considerate and understanding, "But since you mentioned it, Miss Donggong, I will advise him later; it wouldn’t be right to favor one over another."
Though with or without Yin Weiyin’s word of advice wouldn’t change Chen Yi’s mind; his nature is such that he wouldn’t overlook any woman he is concerned about.
But with Donggong Ruoshu’s character of not being able to hold back words, sooner or later she would tell Lin Wanxiao everything, and when the time came, the favor would naturally fall on Yin Weiyin.
Even if Lin Wanxiao wished to confront her over anything in the future, she would at least have to keep in mind the kindness of Yin Weiyin speaking on her behalf as the First Lady today.
Thinking of this, she couldn’t help but nod in appreciation for her subtle and clever handling.
Donggong Ruoshu remained oblivious, simply nodding blankly. Then she seemed to think of something more important, her eyes brightened as she floated over to Yin Weiyin, tugging her sleeve slightly, whispering, "Immortal Lady Yin, has Chen Yi returned? I’ve been hungry recently. I miss him terribly."
Her tone was extraordinarily serious.
Yin Weiyin, upon hearing this, had a glint of confusion in her eyes, not quite understanding what this meant, but she thought it might just be this stupid girl being silly again.
Although she didn’t get along with this stupid girl, one doesn’t hit a smiling face. Who knows what might happen between this stupid girl and Chen Yi; Yin Weiyin, unwilling as she might be, had to be cautious, thinking then saying:
"Hmm, let me take you to find him then."
......
Turns out Qin Qingluo’s broad and muscular back could also relax softly at times, although the lines were still sharp and everywhere were clumps of muscle, even so, it was much softer compared to before.
Perhaps it’s because Qin Qingluo’s frame was so large that Chen Yi immediately felt as if he was sinking.
For a moment, although no words were exchanged, they shared each other’s warmth.
Whether it was because last night was exhausting or their early morning tryout, Chen Yi’s eyelids drooped as sleepiness swept over him, and he genuinely relaxed.
Years ago, this wasn’t possible; when he and Qin Qingluo were engaged in carnal pleasures, Qin Qingluo would often be the body, and he would be the joy, often seeing the Prince’s eyes dazed, with her already shattered Martial Intent heart further ground by himself.
