Chapter 1223: Chapter 663: Serving One Husband Together (2-in-1)_2
Min Ning discontentedly pinched his collar, moved a bit closer, and in a rare, soft, and intimate tone asked, "Do you smell the aura of a hero?"
Chen Yi was silent for a moment, and after a long pause said, "All I smell is sweat, you’re stinking me out."
Min Ning was momentarily stunned and suddenly a bit at a loss,
But, seeing his eyes still ablaze, she snapped back and laughed heartily.
She was soaked to the skin, only slightly dry, yet this lustful ghost was clearly in high spirits.
Having been together for so long, how could she not know that Chen Zunming’s experience with women was extensive and wide-ranging, involving indescribable practices learned from who knows where, which even if she had only heard of in passing, left her secretly astonished.
Fortunately, she hadn’t stayed by his side for long, not needing to bear such burden.
With this in mind, Min Ning raised an eyebrow, glancing at Yin Weiyin.
Yin Weiyin slightly furrowed his brow,
Truly a tiger fallen to the plains being bullied by dogs, Min Ning was so carried away, had she forgotten how deeply she and Chen Yi once loved each other?
The carriage traveled for two or three days straight, heading directly into Dragon Tail City.
The journey was unusually calm and uneventful, Min Ning couldn’t help but wonder, as Chen Yi hadn’t slept with her or with Yin Weiyin for these past few days, could it be that Zhou Yitang secretly cut off the Lower Body?
In any case, they ultimately arrived in Dragon Tail City.
The wheels rolled over the last stretch of muddy official road, and ahead it opened up brightly.
A huge and bustling city silhouette appeared, the noise of people rising to the sky, and the heat wave spreading, instantly dispersing the bloody aura of the beheaded flood dragon.
Inside the carriage, Min Ning could no longer contain her curiosity and flung open the curtain, her spirited eyes shining as they scanned the bustling scene outside.
This bustling atmosphere of common life in the city and the rugged style of the Southern Border was exactly to her liking.
The carriage stopped near a relatively spacious crossroads, where shops were lined up and people mingled.
"Wait here," Chen Yi said briefly, pushed the door open, and jumped out. Min Ning, however, was unwilling to wait and immediately followed with crisp and swift movements.
Yin Weiyin hesitated slightly, but also got up silently to follow, not daring to let those two be alone together.
The three blended into the bustling crowd.
Chen Yi’s target was very clear, his gaze scanning the street-side shops like a lantern, and soon settled on a rather magnificent-looking Hundred Weapons Workshop.
The storefront was spacious, with several strands of uniquely shaped copper bells hanging at the entrance, jingling crisply in the evening wind, and inside was brightly lit with all sorts of wares displayed on the shelves: exquisite porcelain, rustic bronze items, polished wooden utensils, and even a few exotic silver items inlaid with jewels.
"What are you doing here?" Min Ning pursued the question.
"Buying you a wine pot, didn’t you lose yours?"
Min Ning was momentarily taken aback, she hadn’t expected Chen Yi to be so straightforward, with much less hesitation than before.
However, it suited her taste more.
"Welcome, esteemed guests! Please come in! Might I ask what you’d like to see? Our shop has everything!" the boss greeted them with a beaming smile.
Chen Yi exchanged pleasantries casually, while Min Ning ignored the boss’s enthusiasm, her gaze landing directly on the row of shelves against the wall that specialized in wine utensils. From exquisite jade cups to large rustic leather wine bags, an array of choices.
After a while, Chen Yi didn’t linger much, walking straight toward an inconspicuous corner.
Hanging there was a gourd, about half a foot high, entirely a warm dark golden color, neither metal nor wood, its surface smooth, and the knot tied simply yet securely.
"This one." Chen Yi pointed at that gourd, his tone indifferent.
Min Ning followed his finger to look, initially slightly stunned.
It was exactly in the direction she had inadvertently glanced at more than once.
Min Ning turned her head to glance at Chen Yi, he only nodded slightly, perhaps due to not having seen each other for some time, her heart skipped a beat, between the two, there was indeed a tacit understanding.
A very faint golden light flashed in Chen Yi’s eyes, so fast it seemed like an illusion.
The boss hurriedly took down the gourd and presented it, naturally heaping praises, Chen Yi paid for it, and the gourd was handed over to Min Ning.
She fondled the smooth surface of the gourd, unable to put it down,
With the new wine pot in hand, Min Ning couldn’t hold back any longer, immediately finding a wine shop exuding a rich aroma at the street side, filling the gourd with the Southern Border’s strong liquor.
The gourd felt slightly heavy in her hand, the sound of the liquor sloshing inside especially pleasing to the ear, she pulled out the stopper, and a strong and rich aroma hit her nose, making her take a deep breath involuntarily.
"Good wine, good pot," Min Ning exclaimed, turning her eyes to Chen Yi, her gaze slightly bright, "How did you choose it?"
Chen Yi instead asked back, "Min Yuechi, don’t you understand how I think?"
With just this short sentence, Min Ning’s mood soared to another peak, even though life in the Capital City had more bitterness than joy, Chen Yi would always have a way to scratch her itch just right.
"Speaking of which, where’s your apprentice Qing Li?" Chen Yi asked without revealing his intentions.
Min Ning came back to her senses and responded, "Her? After that time, I brought her to a Buddhist Temple for some temporary recuperation. She wanted to come with me, but couldn’t."
Chen Yi nodded slightly, this was just perfect.
It’s easier to fool one person than two.
He indeed hoped Qing Li wouldn’t be around Min Ning beforehand.
Min Ning fastened the wine gourd to her waist, unexpectedly matching her attire. In high spirits, she turned her head to the side and looked at the silent Yin Weiyin, with a hint of pride, she patted the gourd at her waist,
"Immortal Lady Yin, take a look, how’s this gourd?"
Yin Weiyin’s gaze fell on the gourd. Her eyes remained as cool as ever, yet seemed deeper than usual.
Contrary to Min Ning’s expectation, Yin Weiyin did not respond with cold sarcasm, nor was there a trace of her usual aloofness or ridicule. She merely looked at the gourd quietly, quickly glanced at Chen Yi who seemed indifferent, then, with the slightest motion, pursed her lips, ultimately saying nothing, only shifting her gaze away, returning it to the bustling street.
Min Ning’s smug smile faltered slightly.
This reaction... something is off...
Usually, Yin Weiyin would at least ignore it; how could she almost avoid it this time?
A strange feeling crept into Min Ning’s heart.
The three of them found an inn that looked relatively clean to stay for the night.
Their rooms were adjacent, Chen Yi in the middle, Min Ning on the left, Yin Weiyin on the right.
As night fell, the clamor of Dragon Tail City gradually settled down.
Min Ning sat alone at the table in her room, her fingers unconsciously stroking the gourd at her waist. The scent of wine lingered in her nostrils, but the uncharacteristic silence of Yin Weiyin during the day was like a small thorn, piercing her otherwise cheerful mood.
Something isn’t right.
Ever since their reunion, she had been blinded by her happiness, focusing only on getting close to Chen Yi, observing his subtle changes, and enjoying his rare candidness.
But Yin Weiyin... between her and Chen Yi seemed more estranged than back in Capital City.
"Zhu Yu?" Min Ning gently called in her heart, "Don’t you think there’s something strange between Yin Weiyin and Chen Yi?"
From the depths of Heart Lake, Zhu Yu was silent for a moment, then said, "I don’t think so."
Min Ning was taken aback, "Huh? You don’t think so?"
"This is your matter, not mine." Zhu Yu paused, then added, "I don’t know them."
Upon hearing this, Min Ning frowned. Although she got nothing from Zhu Yu, her doubts deepened.
Before, Yin Weiyin and Chen Yi seemed very close, but these days, they are so estranged, they don’t even seem like a couple...
Min Ning didn’t think this was necessarily bad; she indeed desired a lifelong partner, but... this feeling was strange.
Amidst her chaotic thoughts, there came a knock, knock, knock.
Three clear and restrained knocks broke the night’s silence.
The sound came from her door.
Min Ning’s heart skipped a beat; who could it be so late?
Chen Yi? If it were him, he wouldn’t knock so dutifully...
She stood up and walked cautiously to the door, not opening it immediately, and asked in a deep voice, "Who is it?"
There was a moment of silence outside the door, then a cold, water-like female voice sounded:
"It’s me, Yin Weiyin."
Min Ning’s hand on the door latch paused slightly, and confusion surged.
Yin Weiyin?
Why would she come knocking at her door alone, deep in the night?
Having traveled the Jianghu for years, disguising as a man to fight for justice, she had a handsome and heroic appearance; naturally, she had faced awkward situations where women offered themselves, trying to share her bed, all of which she had tactfully or forcefully rejected.
Yet now... outside was Yin Weiyin...
The two had been almost like enemies, and both clearly knew she was a woman. Yin Weiyin coming to her couldn’t possibly be for those romantic intentions...
Suddenly, Min Ning thought of something; it must be Chen Yi who asked Yin Weiyin to come...
What is he planning?
Could it be...
That he wants them... the two of them together?!
This thought was like icy water poured over her, instantly cooling Min Ning’s blood by half.
Chen Zunming’s lustful and greedy behavior must have implications; recalling his scandalous escapades made even the onlookers blush.
These days he hadn’t acted but was he brewing such an absurd matter?!
Outside the door, Yin Weiyin seemed to sense the sudden dead silence within.
She did not urge but repeated slowly and deliberately,
"Open the door,
Min Yuechi, let bygones be bygones... let us serve one husband together."
