Chapter 384: Chapter 383: Primordial Cyan Dragon

Yi Tianyun extended his Perception to its limits. Though his cultivation was not low, it was always best to proceed with caution; otherwise, he wouldn’t even know how he died. No matter the situation, he couldn’t let his guard down. Death could come in the very instant he relaxed.

He walked forward, step by step. He could clearly feel the texture of the stone under his feet, pressing against his soles, proving that he was not walking in the Void. These cyan stones were no treasures, just the sort of common rocks you could find anywhere.

As he continued forward, he soon reached the end of the path. There was nothing ahead of him, only an expanse of Void containing nothing at all.

He scanned the area with his Eye of Investigation, and the only thing that appeared before him was the word ’Void.’ The entire area around him was the Void; there was no other path to take.

’Are there no other paths?’

Yi Tianyun furrowed his brow, took a weapon from his inventory, and tossed it forward. The weapon fell straight down until it disappeared from sight. There was absolutely no path ahead. He wasn’t naive enough to believe a road would magically appear if he just took a step forward.

This wasn’t some test of courage, where the boldest could pass. Taking a step forward meant truly falling, never to get back up. Even the ability to fly was useless here; Yi Tianyun felt a force suppressing him, making flight utterly impossible.

’How strange...’

Yi Tianyun turned to look back, but there was no return gate. The way back was completely sealed. This meant he could only advance; retreating was pointless. His only option was to stay on this Cyan Stone Road.

’The Cyan Stone Road... Could it be...?’

Yi Tianyun’s eyes lit up. He quickly returned to the start of the Cyan Stone Road, bent down, and picked up one of the cyan stones. It lifted up with surprising ease. But as soon as he picked it up, the spot it had occupied became a patch of void.

Holding the cyan stone, he walked to the edge of the path and placed it in the void before him. It settled firmly in place. He then stepped on it and stood securely, not falling at all.

’So that’s how it works,’ Yi Tianyun thought. ’It’s not that difficult, really. Anyone who thought a path would appear just by stepping forward would be a real fool...’

Yi Tianyun shook his head. He immediately began picking up the cyan stones behind him and using them to pave the way forward, advancing bit by bit. There were no shortcuts; he had to build the path himself, stone by stone. The faster he could pick up stones, the faster he could progress.

The task was like a trial to temper one’s patience, forcing him to repeat the same dull and tedious action over and over. But it was his only option. As he slowly inched forward, he finally saw a shimmering Light Gate appear up ahead. ’Looks like I’m finally reaching the destination...’

He let out a deep breath and quickened his pace, laying the stones faster. Soon, he reached the Light Gate, lifted his foot, and stepped inside, disappearing from the Void.

After passing through the Light Gate, he found himself in a vast space. The ground was paved with stone blocks, and the area was so incredibly spacious that he couldn’t see its end.

’What’s going on now?’ he wondered. As he scanned his surroundings, a figure suddenly flickered into view before him. It was a handsome young man with a powerful build, clad head to toe in Dragon Scale Armor, exuding a commanding presence.

"Human, welcome," the man said with a slight smile. "It has been a long time since anyone successfully crossed the Cyan Stone Road. They lacked the patience, missed their final step, and fell into the endless abyss, never to return."

That single word, "Human," immediately told Yi Tianyun the man was not a human. He was likely a powerful expert from the Dragon Race.

"Has no one ever been able to pass through here?" Yi Tianyun asked, his eyes narrowing.

"Of course, some have passed. But that was many years ago; I can’t quite recall how long. To date, only two have succeeded. I wonder, will you be the third?" the powerfully built man said with a slight smile.

’Only two have passed?’ Yi Tianyun wasn’t surprised. The rumors in the outside world claimed that no one had ever succeeded, but that was just the public story. Some successes were simply unknown to the world, so such rumors couldn’t be fully trusted.

Still, the trial was undeniably difficult. The fact that only two people had succeeded in so long was proof enough of that.

"Come! Defeat me, and I will let you pass and claim the glory that awaits you!" the powerfully built man laughed heartily.

The moment he finished speaking, the powerfully built man unleashed a tyrannical Dragon Might. A phantom image of a dragon materialized behind him and bore down on Yi Tianyun.

Mysterious Man: Phantom, Undying Body. Cultivation: Eighth Layer of the Core Formation Stage. Body contains terrifying Dragon Power and can transform into a dragon at any time. Wears high-grade Sacred Artifact armor. Comprehensive Combat Power: 12,000,000. Weakness: None. Martial Arts: Unknown. Kill Drop: Unknown.

This mysterious man wasn’t a living person. Just like Elder Xuan, he was a being manifested from pure power. But his cultivation was terrifying—Eighth Layer of the Core Formation Stage, the exact same level as Yi Tianyun.

"Rest assured, my cultivation level is the same as yours. However strong you are, so am I!"

’Every path here adjusts its difficulty to match the challenger’s cultivation, so one would never face an overwhelmingly powerful opponent. However, on the higher difficulty paths, the opponent’s performance, even at the same cultivation level, would be heaven-defying.’

"So I have to defeat you? Bring it on!" Yi Tianyun’s gaze hardened. He swiftly summoned the Ice Divine Bow, aimed at the powerfully built man, and drew the bowstring taut. His pupils were instantly enveloped in a blue light. "Fury of Ice!"

SWOOSH!

A massive Ice Arrow coalesced in an instant and shot toward the man. A large area was instantly Frozen in its wake, and a thick layer of frost coated the stone slabs on the ground!

Seeing this, the powerfully built man let out a great laugh. Dense Dragon Scales immediately sprouted all over his body, and his hands transformed into sharp, hard Dragon Claws—weapons on par with Sacred Artifacts. The changing data from the Eye of Investigation confirmed this: Destruction Dragon Claw, comparable to a high-grade Sacred Artifact!

After his claws formed, he swiped viciously forward. Five sharp beams of light shot out from his talons, slashing down on the Fury of Ice.

BOOM!

The two torrents of energy collided, causing a violent explosion. The entire Ice Arrow shattered, and a frigid qi cold enough to freeze anything swept over the man, enveloping him. A moment later, the powerfully built man walked out of the icy mist, large parts of his body frozen solid.

As he moved, he shook off the chunks of ice that had formed on his body.

"Not bad. Not bad at all," the powerfully built man’s dragon-like pupils shifted as he laughed. "That power is truly astonishing. If I weren’t a bit tougher, I would have lost just now. You have earned the right to know my name. Remember it well. I am Primordial Cyan Dragon!"
