Chapter 335: Chapter 334: Worse Than a Beast
"What’s going on? Where’s the Red Dragon?" General Long roared. "Red Dragon, get over here!"
He couldn’t sense the Red Dragon’s presence. He was the only one left, standing all alone. General Long had brought a whole group with him, but now, he was the only one remaining.
"Don’t be a fool. Your pet belongs to me now." Yi Tianyun’s voice drifted over from the side, sounding ethereal and indistinct.
WHOOSH!
A streak of red light shot past, but it struck a giant tree, not Yi Tianyun’s body.
"Impossible! How could the Red Dragon be yours? After all my years of taming it, there’s no way it would follow you!" The fury in General Long’s heart blazed even hotter; he felt like he was about to explode. To spend so much effort raising a dragon, only for it to betray him in the end—how could he not be enraged?
"A joke? Who’s to blame but you for how you treated your own pet? You abandoned it without a second thought, so of course it wouldn’t stay with you. Only when you treat your pet like a friend will it be loyal to you, you idiot!" Yi Tianyun’s voice continued to drift over, his tone laced with heavy sarcasm.
"A friend? Don’t be ridiculous. An animal as a friend? Only an idiot like you would think of something so absurd!" General Long raged. "Red Dragon, if you don’t show yourself, don’t blame me for what comes next!"
As he spoke, General Long took out a small flute. It was tiny, no longer than a finger. Placing it between his lips, he began to play.
A shrill sound echoed and spread throughout the forest. It was immediately followed by the Red Dragon’s agonized roar as it burst from the mists and collapsed to the ground. The Divine Runes on its body flickered erratically. They were clearly a type of restrictive Divine Rune, and the sound of the flute had activated them, causing the Red Dragon immense pain.
It was obvious they relied on this restrictive Divine Rune to keep the Divine Beast completely subservient.
’What’s going on? They actually carved a restrictive Divine Rune onto it?’ Yi Tianyun’s brow furrowed. He immediately shouted, "Red Dragon, back to me!"
The Red Dragon struggled to its feet, turned, and ran toward Yi Tianyun, disappearing back into the mist. As soon as it reached his side, Yi Tianyun recalled it into his pet slot. ’Let’s see if that flute is still effective now,’ he thought.
"I can’t believe the Red Dragon actually listens to you. Are you a Beast Tamer? But even for a Beast Tamer, it should be impossible to tame it so quickly!" General Long was stunned. He saw that even after enduring such pain, the Red Dragon still chose to return to Yi Tianyun’s side at his call instead of coming back to him.
This stunned him. He had previously assumed the Red Dragon had merely been captured or was being forcibly suppressed. He never imagined it had truly been tamed.
This was his mount. Losing his mount was like losing a weapon.
"You don’t need to know." Yi Tianyun didn’t bother to explain.
"Hmph, I refuse to believe it!" General Long played the flute again, its sound spreading throughout the forest.
As the sound of the flute echoed, a light flashed, and the Red Dragon was suddenly ejected from the pet slot! It collapsed to the ground, roaring in agony, instantly revealing their position.
Yi Tianyun was stunned. He hadn’t expected that even storing it in the pet slot would have no effect; it could still be forcefully dragged out. The only way to stop this was to either snatch the flute or remove the Divine Rune from the Red Dragon’s body.
’Neither option is possible right now. No matter what, I have to take out General Long first.’
"Well, well, so that’s where you are! Now die!"
General Long, wielding his Red Dragon Spear, shot toward him. He once again unleashed the phantom Blood Dragon, blasting the two charges of Dragon Power he had prepared in Yi Tianyun’s direction.
ROAR!
Like a real Giant Dragon, it roared as it charged, completely ignoring the Red Dragon lying on the ground as it attacked.
"Damn it!"
Yi Tianyun was not as heartless as him. He quickly equipped the Heaven-Supporting Giant Sword, placed himself in front of the Red Dragon, and swung the blade down hard against the two incoming streams of Dragon Power!

Within the dust-filled area, two weakened streams of Dragon Power suddenly broke through the shockwave, swept forward, and slammed viciously into Yi Tianyun.

Yi Tianyun was sent flying, crashing into a giant tree. The terrifying impact sent him straight through the trunk. He smashed through a second giant tree before finally coming to a stop.
"Let’s see you survive that! And to block for an animal, it seems you really are an animal yourself!" General Long roared with laughter and quickly flew over. Reaching the Red Dragon’s side, he delivered a vicious kick. The terrifying force slammed into the Red Dragon. THUD! The Red Dragon was sent flying, letting out a sorrowful cry.
"You dare betray me? Just wait until this is over. I’ll deal with you properly then!"
General Long was furious. If the current situation weren’t so pressing, he would have stabbed the Red Dragon a few times to properly punish it.
"Celestial Cloud!" Ye Qingxuan rushed over and was relieved to see Yi Tianyun already standing up, completely unharmed.
His Defense Power was already astonishingly high to begin with, and the attack’s power had been greatly diminished, so the force that hit him was quite limited. The incredible impact had sent him flying, but he wasn’t injured, just a bit disheveled.
"I’m fine." Yi Tianyun looked toward General Long and said in a low, cold voice, "In my eyes, you’re worse than an animal! The Red Dragon was always loyal to you, yet this is how you treat a devoted companion... Fine. If that’s how it is, then I’ll personally slay you—you piece of trash who’s lower than an animal!"
"Did I hear you right?" General Long paused for a moment, then burst out laughing. "You want to kill me? You lost to me before, you’re losing to me now, and you’ll always lose to me in the future... No, wait. You won’t get another chance after this."
Before he had even finished speaking, General Long charged forward. Without hesitation, he raised his spear and thrust it forward again, intending to run Yi Tianyun through.
"Qingxuan, stand back. I’ll deal with him!" Yi Tianyun’s gaze was resolute, a cold light glinting in his eyes.
"You..." Ye Qingxuan’s heart clenched with worry, but seeing that Yi Tianyun’s mind was made up, she could only quickly retreat and disappear into the mist.
Yi Tianyun’s cultivation was far inferior to General Long’s. Even if he activated Madness Mode, it would still be incredibly difficult to fight him.
