Chapter 267.1: You Are The One That's Sick
The memories of the man within the ancient mirror flowed into Qi Yuan.
"How come you’re so useless when you are a son of a Yang Spirit?"
Despite his father’s high status, he was nothing more than a second-generation wastrel, living a life of drunken debauchery. As if that wasn’t enough, he was a depraved lecher. Within the sacred land where his father resided, quite a number of women and even men had suffered under his harassment. Still, with his father’s backing, the wastrel's audacity only grew greater.
At some point, he learned that Lord Moon God was the prettiest woman in the Middle Three Heavens, and spoke obscenely about her without restraint. The news somehow reached Lord Moon God's ears. She delivered a blow across several layers of heaven, erasing him on the spot.
His father paid a heavy price and used the Yang Spirit artifact, the Heavenly Kun Ancient Mirror, to rescue and nurture a fragment of his remnant soul. To hide it from Lord Moon God, he cast the mirror into the lower worlds. By a twist of fate, it eventually found its way to the Canglan World.
Qi Yuan had gained quite a bit of understanding about the upper world. "So the upper world is actually this complicated?"
The upper world was a collective term for countless worlds. It consisted of sacred lands guarded by Yang Spirits capable of ruling over dozens or even thousands of worlds. As a side note, some of these worlds were actually weaker than the Canglan World.
Based on the richness of spiritual energy, the upper world was divided into Nine Heavens:
The higher the heaven, the more powerful the sacred lands residing there. As for the Upper Three Heavens, the back-facing man had little memory of them. All he knew was that they were a land of endless warfare.
Qi Yuan murmured, "Divine Moon Palace... the faction where Jin Li belongs..."
He didn’t expect killing the back-facing man would lead him to find out more about the Divine Moon Palace. Lord Moon God was the strongest existence within said faction.
He sighed. "I wonder what connection Master has with them?"
Ruan Yixi had once left behind a Moon Token, a symbol belonging to the Divine Moon Palace. That meant she had a deep connection with that faction.
"Could it be that Master is actually Jin Li?" Qi Yuan guessed, but then quickly shook his head.
Given Jin Li’s personality, if she knew it was him, she would have already come to see him.
"Either way, it seems I have an inescapable fate with this Divine Moon Palace... Back-Facing Man, when I start improving the upper world’s moral climate, I’ll start with your father. I’m actually very generous. I can't stand to see white-haired parents sending off their black-haired children. The best solution is to let the two of you reunite."
He flashed, exiting the ancient mirror.
Then, he shot a glance at it, narrowing his eyes. "If I carry this mirror, won’t that guy's father be able to sense me when I’m nearby? I better not lose this mirror."
The Heavenly Kun Ancient Mirror was a powerful treasure capable of nurturing the soul. Otherwise, the back-facing man would never have survived.
"I could put my Nascent Souls into the mirror. Maybe the versions of myself from the past will awaken."
All the Innate Souls in the Mortal Heart World had become his Nascent Souls. Right now, they were still dormant, unable to display their full power. However, if Qi Yuan reached the upper world, they would likely break through to the Yang Spirit realm given enough time. After all, these Nascent Souls were growth-types.
"Collect." With a wave of his hand, the ancient mirror shrank and went inside him. "With my current abilities, if I went back to Blue Planet, I'd definitely be an amazing doctor. I could perform any transplant surgery!"
Then, it occurred to him that he didn't understand medical theory at all. He didn't even have a medical license. If someone got sick, he wouldn't know what illness they had. Well, the solution was simple.
"Whenever I see a patient, I'll just say they have kidney deficiency!"
One could never go wrong with that. Qi Yuan felt very pleased with his own cleverness.
Following that, he waved his hand again. "Go in."
As if hearing his command, all four thousand Nascent Souls flew into the ancient mirror. Finally, the mirror settled within his dantian. He placed it there to let the Nascent Souls cultivate for a time.
After he was done, Qi Yuan looked at the corpses of the Yin Spirits in Phoenix Palace.
He frowned. "Phoenix Heaven... That's too tragic. All the Yin Spirits are dead. Doesn't that mean there's a funeral banquet to attend?"
Qi Yuan felt somewhat disappointed. The people of Phoenix Heaven would attend the banquet, while he had to head to Dark Sun’s headquarters. He wouldn't even get to eat.

In an unknown world, the female doctor gazed at the young man before her. Her weary gaze showed a hint of sympathy. "Qi Yuan, remember to take your medicine on time."
"I'm not sick. I'm not taking medicine," said Qi Yuan without hesitation.
At that moment, a helpful robot said, "These are candies, not medicine. You're not sick."
Only then did he sit down smugly. He fixed his gaze on the doctor’s eyes, unmoving. Somehow, the doctor felt an inexplicable pressure, as if she were facing one of those legendary figures.
"I'm not sick. You're the one who's sick," he blurted out.
The doctor smiled, not taking his words seriously. "How am I sick?"
"You've been having nightmares recently."
The doctor's hand paused mid-writing. Is this a coincidence?
As he had said, she’d been plagued by nightmares lately, which had begun affecting her mental state. She assumed it was just work stress.
She showed him a smile. "What kind of dream did I have?"
When Qi Yuan's parents were expecting him, they were attacked by powerful enemies, causing brain damage while he was still a fetus. On top of that, he had been raised by robots, lacking parental love. Not only did his personality become extremely strange, but he also developed a severe delusional disorder. How could he know her dreams? They had been so bizarre lately, far beyond anything she could have imagined herself.
Qi Yuan answered calmly, "You dreamed of a red bird. It was dripping with blood, all its feathers stripped away. In the deep pitch-black sky, it flew on, its cry joyful."
