"Why ask that?" Dale was a little curious.
She didn’t wait for Fang Zhen to answer. After a moment’s thought, she said, "In my world, I suppose I was considered a Legend. I was hailed as one of those closest to godhood. Given enough time, I might even have become a Divine Spirit."
"The thing is, my world has real, existing gods—and more than one."
"They keep the path to godhood under a tight lock. I couldn’t find a viable path for myself. If I had tried to ascend in my own world, I probably would have faced punishment, attacks, and challenges from the Divine Spirits before I even succeeded."
"That’s why I felt the odds of ascending in my world were low. So I decided to use the Hall of Radiance to visit other worlds and gather faith to prepare for my own ascension."
"You’re that powerful?" After hearing this, Fang Zhen saw Dale in a new light.
He’d thought Dale was on his level, or perhaps a little stronger.
But now it seemed Dale’s level was far from low. She must have had a Legend or Epic-tier template.
"Heh. If I hadn’t reached that stage myself, how could I tell you the way to godhood?" Dale said.
"So, have you also mastered a Power of Law?" Fang Zhen asked.
"Oh, you’ve already reached that stage? You’re progressing pretty quickly," Dale remarked.
She explained, "You definitely have to master a Power of Law. And you can only perceive it once your own power exceeds a certain limit."
"Think of it like a bottle. The water won’t overflow until it’s full. Only when you keep pouring water into a full bottle does it spill out. That’s when you realize there’s an external law—the shape of the bottle—constraining the water."
"The process sounds simple, but it’s incredibly difficult in practice. After all, you’re a being living inside that bottle. To make your power surpass the bottle itself... that’s truly a monumental task."
"However, there is a shortcut."
Fang Zhen’s brow twitched. "Is it to go to a lower-level world? That would make it easier to perceive the Power of Law, right?"
"You’re a smart one," Dale said.
Dale confirmed, "That’s exactly it. Imagine you’re the water in a large cistern, and that cistern is your world. Trying to exceed your world’s capacity from within—to make the water overflow so you can perceive the Power of Law—is extremely difficult."
"But if you take that whole cistern of water to a world with the capacity of a mere bottle, the water will constantly spill over."
"As it overflows, you’ll gradually come to understand the shape of that world. And in the process of understanding it, you will perceive a portion of the Power of Law."
"There is one thing, though. The Power of Law you perceive this way will be from a lower-level world than your own, but that’s not an issue."
"The reason this method is a shortcut is because once you’ve perceived a Power of Law, even if you return to a higher-level world, trying to perceive a similar law is far, far better than starting from scratch."
"It can save you decades of bitter effort, at a minimum. And your success rate will be at least two or three times higher."
"And I mean two or three *times* higher, not twenty or thirty *percent*."
Fang Zhen’s eyes grew brighter the more he listened.
’Holy cow, isn’t this method tailor-made for me?’
His most unique ability was being able to travel between different worlds.
Take the Nameless World, for instance. That world was probably one of those small containers. If Fang Zhen just got a little more powerful, he might be able to feel the Power of Law constantly within the Nameless World, allowing him to rapidly comprehend more of them.
And the process was repeatable. Once he had a clear grasp of the laws in the Nameless World, he could move on to comprehending the world rules of the Curse Seal World.
In this way, the speed at which he improved and grew stronger would increase exponentially.
Fang Zhen asked another question, "Then what about your sword, the Golden Sun Flame? What level is it?"
"I’m a Legend-tier Warrior. My weapon would naturally match my level," Dale said.
"Hmm, so by your logic, it must be Legend-tier as well."
Fang Zhen nodded. It seemed that saving Dale had been a very good move.
At this, Fang Zhen couldn’t contain his curiosity. "You were killed by an Evil God in the Radiant Space," he said. "Since you were already a Legend, what level was the Evil God that killed you?"
"Was it at the level of a god, or something else?"
Dale answered, "An Evil God is still a god. How should I put this... a Legend at their peak might be able to pose a threat to a god, but that ’threat’ only amounts to injuring them or causing some minor losses."
"Normally, there’s a massive threshold between a Legend and a Divine Spirit. The realms might seem to be right next to each other, but that threshold is like a heavenly chasm—completely impassable unless you become a god yourself."
"In my world, I was disgusted by the actions of some of the existing gods, which is why I swore that I too would walk the path to godhood."
"But I never expected to be dragged down by a few reckless newcomers from the Hall of Radiance. We entered the Radiant Space, were spotted by an Evil God, and were all killed in a single strike."
Fang Zhen frowned upon hearing this. ’Gods sound incredibly powerful,’ he thought.
’Based on the progression of the dungeons so far, my next steps would likely be Legend and Epic, followed by Gods and Demons.’
’The difference between the Legend and Epic tiers probably isn’t that great,’ Fang Zhen guessed. ’Maybe an Epic is just someone who has performed epic-level deeds.’
