Chapter 425: Chapter 258: The Dungeon Opens! ’Starfall into Evernight
Their attributes, such as strength, far exceed those of ordinary aliens. This type of alien usually possesses extremely lethal special skills that cannot be predicted before an encounter.
Evolved-Modified Aliens: Created by modifying superior specimens of ordinary lifeforms.
They possess special evolutionary abilities, with an evolutionary speed that far surpasses normal levels. They can even evolve unique attributes within tens of minutes.
However, their weakness is that their rapid evolution leads to an extremely unstable physical state. They might gain immense strength or other attributes immediately after evolving, but their bodies will collapse on their own after this period passes.
Trait: They have a great interest in anything that can facilitate their evolution and will instinctively seek such things out. This includes, but is not limited to, devouring humans; they will even devour their own kind.
Polluted Soldiers: A type of soldier controlled by aliens.
Most are human and were elite soldiers. However, under the influence of some unknown power and the Mind Control Technique, they have become merciless killing machines. Only a small number of them retain a fragment of their humanity.
The majority of these soldiers have had their natural instincts erased and cannot be restored.
Trait 1: Most Polluted Soldiers have taken a special drug that paralyzes their entire nervous system’s pain receptors. They feel no pain until they are completely dead, and therefore have no fear born from physical agony.
Trait 2: Polluted Soldiers have a special organizational structure that borrows from the hive mind of a certain alien species. The specific mechanics are unknown; please observe and learn for yourself during combat.
Heartless Warriors: Special warriors created by converting human Martial Artists. They are similar to Polluted Soldiers in that their pain receptors have been removed, but they are stronger, possess powerful martial skills, and are utterly fearless.
They may at any time use mutually destructive methods to kill the enemy’s High-tier Powerhouses.
Trait: Fiercely unafraid of death, they lack the basic human instinct to resist it. They have no fear, but they seem to have special weaknesses similar to those of aliens.
Boss: Vice-Speaker of the Eternal Night Council.
The number two figure in the Eternal Night Council. Identity and age are unknown.
Legend has it that this individual was once a peerless powerhouse who eventually became an alien. They are widely recognized as the second-in-command of the Eternal Night Council, second only to the Speaker, and have mastered special techniques of corrupting modification.
Habit 1: The Vice-Speaker of the Eternal Night Council seems to have a special mission, constantly collecting unique lifeforms from the Curse Seal World, including Curse Sealers.
One of their characteristics is to show leniency when facing unique lifeforms. In other words, they will try their best to capture them alive.
The priority of this need even surpasses the protection of lower-ranking members of the Eternal Night Council.
They have an unusual interest in humans who have transcended the mundane and seem to take pleasure in collecting live human specimens.
Habit 2: They prefer to hide behind the scenes, controlling the situation from a distance, rather than leading from the front."
"Dungeon Objectives:
Objective 1: Help the Whig Society defend the core fortress.
Objective 2: Kill the Vice-Speaker of the Eternal Night Council.
Optional Objective 3: Find out why the Whig Society is defending the core fortress to the death.
Optional Objective 4: Find out why the Eternal Night Council is so obsessed with high-quality lifeforms.
Optional Objective 5: Investigate the origin of the Blood Essence Stone: Profane Words that Ellick analyzed.
Optional Objective 6: Obtain the unique special item drop within the instance."
After seeing these objectives, Fang Zhen’s expression turned solemn.
This was probably going to be a tough fight.
Fang Zhen was cautious, but fearless.
He was well-prepared. This battle was winnable.
Fang Zhen donned his Feiyu Iron Wall Full Body Armor. His main weapon was still the Dragon Gall Bright Silver Spear, though this particular one was a spare he had prepared earlier.
His Alien Snake Sword was fitted into a scabbard and hung at his left hip, ready to be drawn at a moment’s notice.
Stored inside his King’s Belt were weapons like the Desert Viper Handgun and an AWP sniper rifle.
His subspace held a large number of Molotov Cocktails, drones, and other bulky equipment.
Fang Zhen mentally reviewed his arsenal. Thinking about all his equipment and skills, his confidence surged.
There’s a saying, "armed to the teeth," and one could say Fang Zhen had achieved just that.
After organizing all his armaments, Fang Zhen took a deep breath and clicked "Confirm" to start the dungeon.
Instantly, the Light Gate in the living room flashed with white light and opened.
Holding his spear, Fang Zhen strode into the living room and stepped through the Light Gate.
Fang Zhen felt a moment of disorientation. When he came to his senses, he saw a vibrant, lush forest before him.
The area in front of him was completely different from the twisted and desolate forests of the Ellick Territory he had seen in the previous dungeon.
This place was full of life, with lush trees providing ample shade. Judging by the types of plants, trees, and shrubs, it seemed to be a subtropical or tropical region. He even saw familiar palm and coconut trees.
The air was humid, and the temperature was warm but not sweltering. Inhaling the warm, moist air was refreshing and soothing to the lungs.
Fang Zhen took a few deep breaths and felt the air was rich with oxygen.
He looked around. If he didn’t know for certain that this was a region in the Curse Seal World, he would have suspected he’d entered the wrong world and ended up on some resort island.
After familiarizing himself with the environment, the first thing he did was use his consciousness to sense the new peripheral on his wrist.
Inside the vambrace on his wrist was a black wristband, a new piece of hardware he had acquired.
When Fang Zhen focused his senses on it, his consciousness perceived a set of spatial coordinates. He could summon two illusory black pillars at any time to open a Light Gate at a specific location.
This was another Light Gate, separate from the main one used to enter dungeon worlds—the new permission he had obtained last time.
With a thought, and with almost no energy consumed, Fang Zhen projected two illusory black pillars in front of him. A Light Gate rapidly formed between them.
Fang Zhen smiled slightly upon seeing the Light Gate.
Then, with another thought, the Light Gate vanished.
The test was complete. Fang Zhen now knew the hardware worked. With this new device, getting around would be much more convenient. He wouldn’t have to run all over the map just to restock his equipment anymore.
Fang Zhen felt even more confident.
He scanned his surroundings, unsure of which direction to go.
His first objective was to find members of the Whig Society and contact someone he knew from the last dungeon, whether it was Gwendolyn or anyone else.
Only then could he get into the Whig Society and find the Curse Sealers’ headquarters.
He had no leads. Just as Fang Zhen was thinking about picking up a stick and trying a "divine pathfinding"—walking in whatever direction it fell—he suddenly heard deep roars and monstrous shrieks from a distance.
Fang Zhen raised an eyebrow.
He immediately tossed out the Crystal Bone. Infused with bone energy, the Red Hare Warhorse appeared instantly. Fang Zhen leaped onto its back and rode toward the source of the roars he had heard.
Fang Zhen galloped for less than two minutes before he saw the situation up ahead.
He saw three Warriors in leather armor, armed with weapons and riding horses, emerge from a path in the palm forest and head straight toward him.
Behind the three Warriors, six or seven Alien Ghosts were scuttling rapidly across the ground, constantly shrieking as they gave chase!
