Chapter 48: False Samsara

Chapter 48

The duo spent a few more hours conversing about Rayden’s world. Li Yuexin was excited, shocked, and stunned by everything that Li Yu had told her.

Those things sounded more like fiction than reality. Feeling a bit curious, she decided to throw a question at Li Yu. "Tell me, Brother Yu, if the warriors of that parallel world and those of ours were to clash, who would emerge victorious in the end?" she asked.

Li Yu blinked in surprise at the question. He thought for a few seconds before giving his answer. "Honestly, I don’t think the people of the parallel world would even stand a chance," he replied.

Yeah, they had atomic and nuclear explosives back on Earth. They even had machine guns and many other firearms. Yet he couldn’t see that making much difference if the two worlds were to fight.

Heck, this was a fictional world where powerful cultivators could slice apart mountains or reduce them into countless pebbles with nothing more than a swipe of their fingernails.

So yeah, there was no way Earth was winning. After hearing the explanation, Li Yuexin smiled sweetly and nodded. "I see. So we are still more powerful.

Those explosives and flying aircraft you mentioned sound really dangerous, like powerful titanic spirit beasts, but I guess we are still the superior ones." She beamed.

Her smile was so genuine and sweet that Li Yu couldn’t help but be dazed for a second. She is pretty. He couldn’t help but think that. His heart seemed to speed up slightly.

Then he frowned and quickly took his eyes off her. What the fuck am I thinking? He shook his head slightly. Li Yuexin rose from her seat, patted him on the back, and spoke.

"Don’t worry. False Samsara only lasts a few days. You will soon be back to normal. I will go and prepare you some food." She said sweetly before leaving. Her mood genuinely seemed to be very good.

Li Yu only stared at her back as she left. Then he slowly blinked and asked the system in his mind. "Hey, Sys, what does she mean by False Samsara? And what does she mean by recovering? She said it as if I’m suffering from some kind of sickness or illness."

Li Yu couldn’t help but pass the question to his system. As usual, the system’s voice resounded inside his head. "Based on my knowledge, Samsara is used to refer to living many lives through the process of reincarnation. But False Samsara means the opposite of that."

"Based on my analysis, it would refer to a hallucination or dream of some sort, where the person inflicted with this False Samsara believes that they have been born in another world. They grow up in that world, grow older there, and spend a very long time in that reality despite it not actually being real."

"So when they wake up from the False Samsara, they behave as if they have transmigrated and haven’t fully returned to reality, which would seem strange after experiencing such a long illusion." The more Li Yu listened, the more his eyes started to twitch.

"So what you’re basically telling me is that she didn’t believe a single thing I spent the entire day explaining to her? What the fuck? I thought she was the only one who actually believed me. But no. She was just acting as if she believed me. So she thinks I’m delusional as well?"

Li Yu couldn’t help but shake his head in helplessness and disbelief. For Christ’s sake, he had spent several hours telling her the long version of his story, and this was all he got. Why the fuck isn’t any of them believing me? And I’m being such an honest guy here.

Li Yu complained, feeling deeply offended. No one was there to reply to his words except, of course, his system. "Host, no offense, but even I wouldn’t believe a word you say if I were in their shoes." "You don’t even have a physical body, damn system."

The system didn’t even act as if it had heard that. Instead, it continued speaking. "The host has been tested repeatedly and certified as a professional liar. So yes, no one will believe you. Even I, your best friend, don’t believe you. Who exactly do you expect to believe you?"

Li Yu’s brow twitched as he asked the system another question in his mind. "You brat, you wouldn’t believe me even when you know I’m telling the truth?" "Yes, Host, you are correct. A great liar like yourself must never be trusted." Li Yu smiled as he closed his eyes.

This damn system must have been bored. That was why it was trying to stir up trouble. Of that, he was absolutely certain. Still, he wasn’t about to let his day be ruined by his annoying system.

So he informed Li Yuexin that he would be leaving for a while. She seemed hesitant to let him go again. In fact, she even made him swear that he would come back. At this point, Li Yu couldn’t help but think that she definitely possessed the characteristics of a yandere.

After repeated promises that he was not going to miraculously disappear or anything of the sort, and that he would definitely be back before she was done with the meal she seemed to be making specifically for him, he was finally allowed to leave.

Li Yu left the cave, his destination being none other than another cave a short distance away. It didn’t take him long at all. With his monstrous speed coupled with the fact that almost this entire region had been wiped clean by him, there were practically no beasts left in this section of the forest.

He had even expected the stronger beasts from the deeper regions of the forest to send some of their subordinates his way so that he could kill them as well, but it seemed those higher-ranked beasts were wary of him and hadn’t sent any beasts his way again. Not that he cared much.

He was already planning on leaving the Beast Forest. Then he was going to become much stronger. Perhaps after reaching the Foundation Establishment Realm, he would step into the deeper parts of the forest and go on another slaughtering frenzy.

At least that was his plan for now. Soon, he was able to spot the figure of his kingly clone casually standing guard outside the cave. His face was calm and composed as always. Li Yu reached his side with a boom, kicking up dust and shattering rocks beneath his feet.

This was because he was still struggling to control his rapidly increasing power, though hopefully he would gain better control over it as time went by. The clone looked at him calmly before opening his mouth to speak, his words fluent and filled with the grace befitting of a king.

"All the cores are in there." King Rayden paused briefly before continuing. "Actually, I have been meaning to ask. You are no longer going to be using them to refine your body, right? And they wouldn’t be helping you increase your cultivation realm either.

So why do you need so many cores?" King Rayden couldn’t help but ask with a raised eyebrow. Li Yu walked forward until he could see the shining light of countless beast cores reflecting from inside the cave.

Seeing just how many there were, he couldn’t help but pat his clone on the shoulder. For once, the kingly clone had done something that made Li Yu happy instead of doing something that made him want to kill him. Li Yu entered the cave, with King Rayden following behind while waiting for an answer.

"You see, in this life one must always have many plans prepared ahead of time to ensure greatness. And this is an important piece needed to climb to the pinnacle of this world.

Didn’t I tell you that my plan is a great one?" Li Yu raised his hand toward the massive pile of beast cores, and another system notification appeared before him.

Would you like to store the targeted items? What Li Yu loved most about the storage space was the fact that it only required his intentions and thoughts to activate. Using nothing but his mind, he could select what he wanted to send into storage.

With that thought, he selected the piles of beast cores. Then, with a snap and a mental confirmation of Yes, the beast cores were wrapped in radiant blue light before vanishing entirely. King Rayden stared in awe.

The longer he stayed around the original, the more strange things he witnessed. It was as if Li Yu never ran out of new tricks. Seeing the 1,200 beast cores safely stored within his storage space, Li Yu couldn’t help but feel an inexplicable joy swell within his chest. He was rich. Really, really rich.

With this, he could simply cause a little trouble within the Li Clan and get himself legally disowned. By doing so, he would finally be free. He never really wanted anything to do with Li Yu’s people. Although because of those four, he would need to follow them back to the Li Clan first.

Still, it wouldn’t be long before he left again. And then he would begin his cultivation journey toward madness... Wait. That came out wrong. He meant success.

With thoughts of all the crazy adventures he was going to have after legally leaving the Li Clan crossing his mind, each one more absurd than the last, he finally couldn’t hold himself back anymore and burst into a loud maniacal laugh.

King Rayden couldn’t help but shake his head. "This original..." He sighed. Li Yu suddenly stopped laughing as a thought crossed his mind. Then he turned toward King Rayden and asked.

"Do you trust me? King Rayden raised an eyebrow, many people don’t seem to trust me, you see, and it is kind of hurting me. So if I tell you something, you will trust and believe me, right?" Li Yu’s hopes were high. Li Feng didn’t believe him.

Li Yuexin and the two brothers didn’t believe him either. King Rayden merely stared at him with mild interest. "Tell me first, and then I will decide whether to trust you."

Li Yu nodded and decided to tell his clone the super short version of the story. Which somehow made it even more unbelievable.

King Rayden stared at Li Yu blankly as he listened to the absurd story. A few things were surely true. Many others definitely weren’t.

What did he mean by having the chance to adopt beings capable of shaking existence itself, yet deciding not to get them because they were too expensive? And instead settling for a glass egg simply because it cost less? It made absolutely no sense.

It was most definitely a lie. "So? What are your thoughts? You believe me, right?" Li Yu asked expectantly. At least himself wouldn’t betray him. Or at least that was what he was hoping. But things rarely went according to plan. King Rayden slowly shook his head.

"Actually, no. I don’t believe you." "What?" Li Yu’s face twitched. "What do you mean?" King Rayden calmly scanned his face while his legs subtly began moving backward.

"You might hate hearing this, but let’s just say you are not the most honest person. And your face... It isn’t trustworthy one bit." Li Yu’s twitching face suddenly froze. Then he grinned. "You deserve some beating."

He muttered with a small smile. King Rayden was already moving. Green lightning flashed around his body as he shot backward.

The punch Li Yu threw landed exactly where his face had been a moment earlier. BOOM! A large section of the cave wall caved inward before shattering apart. King Rayden survived by barely a hair’s breadth. But he knew this wasn’t the end. In fact, it was only the beginning.

And just as he expected, Li Yu was already bending forward slightly, his eyes narrowing into slits as he prepared to rush over and beat the crap out of his clone. With a weary gaze, King Rayden shook his head before speaking loudly enough for Li Yu to hear.

"Can we really not do this? Can’t you go a single day without wanting to punch my face?" Li Yu, whose teeth had sharpened into fangs and whose claws were now fully extended, only smiled at him. A wicked smile.

"Blame yourself... for not being able to keep your mouth shut." With that, he charged forward. Soon afterward, a series of booms and loud crashes filled the air.
