Chapter 18: Battle Of Titans (1)

**Chapter Eighteen**

"See... I told you, System. They would clash."

Despite the blood covering his face, Liyu still managed to force out a grin. His breathing was ragged and his body was trembling from exhaustion, yet madness still danced within his eyes. "I told you my plan would work," he continued weakly. "And at the end of the day... I’ll win."

The system remained silent for a moment, perhaps relieved that its suicidal host was somehow still alive. For a brief second earlier, it had truly believed everything was over for both of them.

Finally, the system spoke. [Host, I do not know what exactly you are celebrating right now, but I strongly suggest treating your injuries first.]

Liyu’s grin faltered slightly before he nodded. His entire body hurt. Every muscle screamed in agony. His bones felt as though they had been smashed apart and barely stitched back together.

If he wanted his plan to succeed, then he needed to recover as much strength as possible. Still, before leaving, Liyu wanted to confirm something. His gaze shifted toward the two colossal beasts facing each other in the distance.

One was the Dark Scaled King Cobra, its massive body coiled proudly as it hissed with murderous fury. The other was the gigantic saber panther, dark fur rippling beneath layers of explosive muscle while crimson eyes glowed with cold killing intent.

They were the strongest beasts within this region of the forest, the kings of this territory. Both stood at the peak of the Qi Gathering Realm. And more importantly, both were monsters even among monsters.

Liyu had once asked the system when he would become strong enough to face creatures like these without certain death awaiting him. The system’s answer had been simple: reach the Qi Gathering Realm yourself.

Only then would he truly stand a chance against beasts of this caliber. That alone showed how terrifying these two creatures truly were.

So why had he deliberately provoked the cobra king earlier? The answer was simple. If he could not defeat either of them himself, then he would simply make them kill each other. Looking at the two terrifying predators, Liyu could not help but feel curious about who would ultimately emerge victorious.

[Host, you should prioritize healing yourself instead of watching another disaster unfold.]

Liyu waved dismissively. "Relax. They aren’t interested in me anymore." At least, hopefully not.

The saber panther growled deeply, rage filling its crimson eyes. This damned snake had invaded its territory and disturbed its peace. Meanwhile, the cobra king showed no intention of backing down. Its pride simply would not allow it. The serpent’s massive head rose higher, golden eyes glaring down at the panther as though demanding submission.

ROOOOOAR!

HISSSSSSS!

The forest trembled as the two titans charged. The serpent moved first. Its gigantic tail whipped through the air like a natural disaster and slammed directly into the panther during its charge.

BOOOOOOM!

Liyu winced instinctively. "Yeah... that definitely hurts."

But to his surprise, the panther merely skidded backward several meters before lunging forward again. One of its saber like claws slashed across the serpent’s side.

SHRIIIIK!

Scales split apart and a shallow wound appeared. Liyu’s eyes widened slightly. The same scales that had completely ignored all of his attacks were actually torn open. Sure, the injury was not deep, but the fact that the panther managed to damage the cobra at all proved one thing clearly: this beast was no prey. It was a predator equal to the serpent king.

The cobra recoiled violently before crashing into the side of a rocky cliff with a deafening explosion. Dust and shattered stone erupted everywhere. For a moment, the serpent seemed stunned as it glanced down at the black blood leaking from its scales. Then, a furious hiss exploded across the forest.

HIIIIIIIIISSSSSSSSS!

The cobra king had finally become truly enraged. Its golden eyes turned bloodshot as it launched forward with terrifying speed. The saber panther attempted to press its advantage, but the serpent’s tail suddenly whipped forward once more.

BOOOOOOOOM!

This time, the attack landed cleanly. The panther was blasted through the air like a cannonball and disappeared over a distant cliff. Liyu blinked. "Wait... is it over already?" That would honestly be disappointing.

But then something clicked in his mind. No, there was absolutely no way that panther died so easily. And he was right. A massive claw suddenly dug into the side of the cliff. Moments later, the saber panther climbed back upward completely intact, crimson eyes now burning with pure murderous rage.

The beast roared furiously. To be threatened by a mere snake was unacceptable; it would tear this arrogant serpent apart with its own claws.

The cobra king lunged again and the panther rushed forward as well. The two monsters collided violently.

BOOOOM!

The earth cracked beneath them. Their battle was savage beyond words. The serpent tried repeatedly to coil around the panther and crush it to death with overwhelming force, while the panther aimed directly for the cobra’s head with deadly claws capable of splitting mountains apart. The wind howled violently from the pressure of their clash.

At one point, the serpent successfully wrapped itself around the panther and squeezed with monstrous strength. The ground shattered beneath the pressure. Yet the panther simply bit down into the serpent’s body. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺

Crunch.

There was resistance for only a brief moment before its fangs pierced through flesh and scales alike. Black blood sprayed outward. The saber panther ripped away an entire chunk of flesh before grabbing the serpent’s tail and slamming its gigantic body repeatedly into the ground.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The mountain itself shook from the impact. Liyu watched everything with stunned fascination. The two beasts were absurdly powerful. Every movement carried enough force to flatten forests. And just as he had expected, they were evenly matched.

The cobra hissed furiously as it emerged once more, blood dripping from its wounds while rage burned within its golden eyes. The panther slowly stepped forward, its gaze cold and merciless like an apex hunter staring down doomed prey. Then both monsters charged again.

[Host, I believe you are forgetting what is actually important right now.] The system sounded deeply concerned. [Those beasts should not be your focus. One stray attack from either of them could kill you instantly.]
