Chapter 196: Ride me now master!
Noah subconsciously compared Kael’s newly upgraded stats directly to his own, realizing with a slight wave of irony how pitiful his personal attributes were compared to his familiar’s monstrous numbers.
Even with all the incredible power-ups he had personally achieved throughout his journey, looking at his own stat sheet right next to the dragon’s was a truly humbling experience.
His own numbers, which would normally look completely staggering to any ordinary human magi, suddenly seemed incredibly small and insignificant when placed side-by-side with the towering pillars of strength that Kael now possessed.
Despite currently being a supreme magus, which was universally known as the absolute most powerful rank a human could ever hope to reach in their entire lifetime, his base stats were still incredibly weak compared to the ancient dragon’s.
He had reached the very pinnacle of human evolution, breaking through barriers that millions of mages could only dream of achieving, yet his physical flesh and bone remained bounded by his species.
Kael’s stats completely outclassed his in every single category, showcasing a terrifying baseline of power that existed entirely on a different tier.
It proved that even the strongest human alive was fundamentally built differently from the absolute top predators of the natural world.
This stark visual comparison made him fully realize the massive, unbridgeable difference that existed between a regular human and a dragon, especially an ancient one at that.
A human had to spend decades training, studying, and breaking through dangerous bottleneck realms just to increase their power step by step.
On the other hand, an ancient dragon was a creature born from the very apex of nature, carrying the ancient lineage of the world’s most dominant species within their veins.
Their natural growth alone granted them a physical perfection and an innate mana capacity that defied human logic, making the natural divide between their two races feel like an entirely different world.
The only possible way he could ever hope to match Kael in a confrontation would be by heavily relying on his highly advanced skills as a supreme magus.
If he were to ever engage in a pure, raw physical fight without any magic to support him, he would be completely obliterated in an instant, unable to even make a single small dent on the dragon’s thick, armored skin.
His punches and physical strikes would simply bounce off those dark, gleaming scales without causing any damage whatsoever.
It was a clear reminder that while his magical authority was absolute, his raw physical body was still entirely human at its core.
Kael chuckled deeply once again, the physical rumble of his massive chest vibrating through the surrounding air as he looked back at Noah with eager eyes.
"Ride me now master! Ride me!" he shouted out loud, his booming voice full of genuine, childlike enthusiasm despite his terrifying new size.
He was practically vibrating with excitement in the sky, completely impatient to finally show off his capabilities to his beloved master.
He shifted his massive body slightly in the air, lowering his broad back to make it as easy and welcoming as possible for Noah to step aboard.
Noah couldn’t help but let out a warm, genuine smile at the dragon’s adorable eagerness, feeling his previous seriousness melt away.
"Fine," he said softly, nodding his head in agreement to the creature’s excited request.
He found it incredibly endearing that despite Kael now being a massive, terrifying force of nature capable of destroying entire cities, the dragon still possessed the exact same loyal, playful personality he had carried since the very first day they met.
Noah gently drifted forward, floating smoothly through the air to the very top of the massive dragon before landing lightly on its broad, scaled back.
The surface of Kael’s back was incredibly wide and sturdy, feeling as solid and stable as standing on top of a stone fortress.
The dark scales beneath his feet felt warm to the touch, humming with a faint, rhythmic pulse of deep shadow energy that felt completely comfortable and familiar to Noah.
He adjusted his stance, securing his balance as he prepared himself for the ride.
Kael laughed happily out loud again, feeling an immense wave of pure excitement wash over him the exact moment he felt his master finally sitting securely on his back.
The massive creature let out a low, satisfied purr that caused the surrounding frost particles to dance in the air. He felt incredibly proud to finally be carrying the weight of the person he cherished most in the world, holding his head high against the wind currents.
This exact moment had successfully brought his ultimate dream to life, a deep desire he had carried from the very first moment he had hatched from that magical egg right in front of Noah.
Ever since he first opened his eyes and looked up at his master, his greatest ambition had always been to grow big enough to carry him through the heavens.
He had envisioned this exact scenario through every stage of his development, wanting to be the ultimate protector and companion.
He had been far too small to realize that grand dream in the past, though, and had been forced to simply watch from the sidelines as Noah rode on the back of Goldie Neckie.
Watching his master rely on other creatures for aerial travel had always ignited a quiet, determined fire inside his heart to grow as fast as possible, a goal that he had finally achieved today.
Now, though, those frustrating days were completely a thing of the past, and Noah could finally ride on his back, and his back alone.
Kael was absolutely thrilled that he no longer had to share the privilege of carrying his master with any other flying creature in existence.
He had officially claimed his rightful place as Noah’s sole, ultimate mount in the sky.
The realization that he was finally big enough and strong enough to fulfill his life’s purpose filled the dragon with a profound sense of satisfaction, and he was completely determined to show Noah exactly what a true ancient dark dragon could do.
