Chapter 192: Just like the demon lord!

The raw mana pressure leaking from Noah’s form still technically felt like that of an arch magus on a purely structural level.

It hadn’t exploded in quantity, nor did it carry the distinct hallmarks of a higher realm of ascension.

Yet, something hidden deep within the core of that energy was completely different, making the aura highly unusual and bizarrely heavy.

It was as if the quality of the mana itself had been refined into something infinitely more dense and sinister.

As Yaroth desperately tried to analyze the suffocating pressure pressing down on his gray skin, a sudden, horrifying comparison flashed across his mind.

’This human is just like... the demon lord!’ he thought.

The exact same overwhelming sense of absolute majesty, the same crushing authority that demanded total submission, was radiating from the white-masked man standing casually outside the cage.

Even as the thought solidified in his mind, Yaroth couldn’t bring himself to believe the blasphemous conclusion that had just crossed his brain.

A wave of internal denial washed over him, clashing violently with his ingrained pride.

He was, after all, a demon who had spent centuries fighting under a dark banner. He had just compared the presence of a mere, short-lived human to the supreme lord of the entire demon kingdom—the ultimate, god-like being whom he had solemnly swore to serve and protect for all his life.

To compare a mortal to the ruler of the abyss was the ultimate form of treason to his race.

Yet, no matter how much his pride screamed at him to reject the terrifying parallel, Yaroth knew he wasn’t lying to himself.

He could not deceive his own highly sensitive instincts in the presence of such overwhelming power. That was really what Noah’s presence reminded him of.

The chilling, absolute certainty that he was looking at an existence capable of rivaling the apex of the demon kingdom settled deep into his soul, thoroughly shattering whatever tiny fragments of hope he had left.

Noah chuckled softly, the light, mocking sound echoing off the damp stone walls of the dark cell one last time.

He gave the trembling demon one final, amused glance before casually turning his back on the cage.

Without saying another word, he began to walk away, his steady footsteps clicking rhythmically against the floor as he left Yaroth completely alone in the bleak, silent prison.

Yaroth didn’t break his gaze for even a single second, keeping his wide, terrified eyes locked firmly onto Noah’s retreating back.

He kept staring until the white-masked figure completely vanished around the corner of the corridor.

Even long after the man had gone, the demon’s body continued shivering uncontrollably, the metallic links of the heavy suppressing chains rattling weakly against his gray skin.

He slumped heavily against the cold floor, his mind spinning as he thought to himself, ’Lord White... who the hell is he... what exactly is his goal...?’

The sheer mystery surrounding the masked man’s true identity and ultimate intentions felt like a heavy shroud of darkness, leaving the abyssal commander feeling completely out of his depth.

Suddenly, a sharp, icy chill ran directly down his spine, causing his muscles to tense up all over again. A terrifying question forced its way to the forefront of his consciousness, and he thought, ’Is he even... human?’

The mere idea made his skin crawl, yet it was a question he could no longer easily dismiss.

Yaroth deeply doubted that a mere mortal could naturally possess that kind of terrifying authority, but from absolutely everything he had personally witnessed the man do so far, he couldn’t help but wonder.

Including the overwhelming, mountain-like presence the man had just casually exuded over him, he truly questioned whether the person he was dealing with belonged to the human race at all.

This was because the incredible, logic-defying things Mr. White did on a daily basis were things that should be completely impossible for any ordinary person to achieve.

From rewriting the fundamental rules of a shadow back to human to dominating a high-ranking demon commander without breaking a sweat, nothing about the masked man aligned with the known limits of humanity.

Meanwhile, completely oblivious to the existential crisis he had just triggered in the dungeon, Noah casually made his way back up to the private quarters assigned to him by the adventurer guild.

The room was quiet and secure, offering him the perfect privacy he needed after finishing his business down in the cells.

As he stepped inside and closed the door behind him, Noah leaned back and directed his thoughts inward, speaking to the invisible presence bound to his soul.

’Did you do it?’ he thought, silently inquiring about the task they had set out to accomplish during the interrogation.

Right on cue, Kael chuckled deeply within the recesses of his mind, the dragon’s voice dripping with absolute confidence and pride.

’Of course!’ Kael replied smoothly, his mental tone filled with an arrogant amusement. ’Who exactly do you think I am? I’m an ancient dragon! Something like that is incredibly easy for me!’

Noah nodded his head in quiet satisfaction, a small, subtle smile returning to his lips as he processed the dragon’s confirmation.

’Nice...’ he thought to himself, completely pleased with how smoothly everything was falling into place. With the demon thoroughly broken and Kael’s secret adjustments successfully implemented, their grand plans moving forward were perfectly aligned.

Since Kael had evolved so greatly recently, his unique shadow abilities had also gone through a massive, unprecedented leap in power.

The ancient dragon’s connection to the darker elements of magic had grown exponentially stronger, refining his control and allowing him to manipulate the darkness with a level of precision that was simply impossible before his evolution.

Because of this incredible upgrade in Kael’s repertoire, Noah had previously asked him to plant some of his brand-new ’shadows’ directly back inside Yaroth’s prison cell.

Noah wanted to ensure they had a permanent, undetectable anchor established right there before they left the prison.

These specific shadows created by Kael were completely different from the crude, corrupted ones created through the demon’s twisted experiments.

Instead of being mindless monsters meant for raw combat, these shadows were more like highly sophisticated, invisible methods to spy on absolutely whatever was happening in the prison around the clock.
