Chapter 2006: Chapter 2006: The Second Apostle
Xiao Zheng killed Andre with almost no hesitation at all.
It wasn’t until they saw Andre’s body explode into a cloud of blood mist at the elevator entrance that Long Qie and the others finally reacted, anxiety flashing across their faces, looking as if they really couldn’t understand it.
Long Qie walked over quickly and said, "Mr. Xiao, y‑you really killed him?"
"Of course. Didn’t you all just see it?" Xiao Zheng pulled a white silk handkerchief from the chest of the now-stunned waiter, wiping the blood off his hands as he said, "With someone like that, I’m not about to spoil him."
"Otherwise, in the future anyone would dare to shout in my face. How the hell am I supposed to live like that?"
With that, he chuckled.
This scene undoubtedly brought an enormous impact to everyone present.
They all felt a rush of satisfaction, but the moment they thought of Hades, still imprisoned in Gabriel’s hands, their hearts instantly sank to rock bottom.
Long Qie sighed and said, "Mr. Xiao, killing him was damn satisfying, sure, but what about the Netherworld King? The envoy Gabriel sent has just been killed by you. If this move enrages Gabriel, what will happen to the Netherworld King then?"
What he said was exactly what everyone else wanted to say to Xiao Zheng.
At that, Xiao Zheng replied carelessly, "Relax. Gabriel absolutely won’t vent on Hades over something like this. On the contrary, once he feels my resolve, he’ll only make sure Hades lives better."
"As long as I don’t show my face, there’s no need to worry about Hades’ safety."
"Why is that?" Brent couldn’t help asking.
"Because I want to kill Gabriel, and Gabriel wants to kill me," Xiao Zheng said. "He’s not afraid of me going to him; he’s afraid I won’t. If I ignore Hades, that’s when he won’t be able to sleep at night."
"Because he’s afraid I’ll grow. He wants to kill me now, at the stage he thinks is the best chance. So as long as I don’t show up, he’ll keep using Hades’ life as leverage to force me into a showdown with him."
Everyone nodded, half understanding, half confused.
Even if some still didn’t quite get it, they all subconsciously let out a sigh of relief.
Xiao Zheng went on, "Just wait and see. Two days at most, and Gabriel will send a second envoy over. When that time comes, you’ll know whether I was lying or not."
"For now, have someone clean this place up. All this blood is disgusting to look at."
He turned around and walked into the elevator as he finished speaking.
Hearing Xiao Zheng’s words, everyone was speechless for a moment.
Disgusting to look at the blood?
No matter how disgusting it is, you’re still the one who did it, aren’t you?
Long Qie couldn’t help shaking his head, then told the waiters to start cleaning. As for the others, they all dispersed, though the only thing they talked about was Xiao Zheng’s domineering aura and the safety of Hades.
When night fell, Song City returned to its former peace.
Everyone was quietly waiting, waiting for the arrival of the second envoy.
At the same time.
On the Ice Plateau, everything was a vast stretch of white. For countless years, this place had been a lifeless forbidden zone rarely touched by humans.
Yet in this deadly land, a palace built entirely of ice and snow had suddenly appeared.
At the very center of the palace sat Gabriel in a cross‑legged posture.
His complexion already looked much better than it had seven days ago, and even his aura was gradually stabilizing. Not far to his left stood a cage carved from solid ice, with Hades imprisoned inside.
Hades’ cultivation was being constantly suppressed by Gabriel; the remaining vital energy in her body was only enough to keep her barely alive.
Just then, the silence in the palace was finally broken by the sound of approaching footsteps.
An old man of about sixty hurried over and knelt before Gabriel. "Reporting to the great Lord Gabriel, news from Song City has arrived. Andre has already met Evil God Xiao Zheng, but, but..."
"But what?" Gabriel slowly opened his eyes and asked.
At that, the old man gritted his teeth and said viciously, "Andre did meet Evil God Xiao Zheng, but in the end, he died at Xiao Zheng’s hands."
Hearing this, a hint of surprise flashed across Gabriel’s face.
After a few seconds of silence, Gabriel asked, "What exactly happened? Didn’t Andre say he was sent by me? Why did Xiao Zheng dare to kill him?"
The old man took a tablet out of his coat and stepped up to Gabriel’s side. "This is the surveillance from their meeting yesterday. Take a look and you’ll understand."
Gabriel took the tablet and started playing the video.
When he finished watching the footage, a vicious glint rose between his brows. "Andre really was trash. He couldn’t even handle something this trivial. He deserved to die!"
Feeling Gabriel’s killing intent, the old man dropped to his knees in terror, trembling uncontrollably.
No one knew how long it was before Gabriel finally calmed down a little and said, "No matter what, we have to bring Xiao Zheng before me. His talent is outstanding. If I don’t kill him before he fully grows, he’ll definitely become a tiger I raised to maul me later!"
"Carlos, there’s only you left at my side now. Are you willing to help me with this task?"
At that, the old man named Carlos pressed his head tightly to the ice and said in a low voice, "Subordinate Carlos is willing to serve the great Lord Gabriel!"
"Then you’ll take over Andre’s job and make a trip to Song City," Gabriel said. "I hope you won’t turn out like Andre. Don’t disappoint me again."
"If the Bright Church is rebuilt in the future, I’ll make you Pope."
Hearing this, Carlos’ heart surged with excitement. "I obey! Please rest assured, Lord Gabriel, I will complete the mission perfectly and make sure to bring Evil God Xiao Zheng before you!"
"Enough, get going," Gabriel said impatiently.
Carlos then knocked his head three times heavily against the ice and finally rose to leave.
Once only Gabriel and Hades were left in the palace, Gabriel stood up and walked to the cage. Looking at Hades sitting inside with eyes closed, he let out a mocking look. "I know you’re already awake. I also know you’re trying to build up strength in secret so you can escape."
"All I can say is that your efforts now are in vain."
"You and Xiao Zheng destroyed the Bright Church, and I will personally kill you both!"
"Without fail!"
Gabriel’s icy voice echoed throughout the palace.
As for Hades, she remained sitting with her eyes closed, as if she hadn’t heard a single word he said...
