Chapter 682: Chapter 682: You... Knew All Along?
...
The two gradually walked away, while Mr. Drexler remained standing in front of the tombstone, staring at Noah Drexler carrying Summer Shawcross until they disappeared from sight. Only then did he slowly turn his head back to the photo on the tombstone.
"Amber, it seems our son has good taste, just like me." Mr. Drexler showed a rare smile and suddenly spoke as if joking.
As soon as he finished speaking, Mr. Drexler couldn’t help but cough, spitting two mouthfuls of fresh blood onto the tombstone.
"Sir!" Mr. Leaf, standing beside him, was startled and hurriedly went over to support Mr. Drexler.
Looking at the bloodstains on the tombstone, Mr. Drexler’s expression changed slightly.
"Sir, let me help you back first, then the doctor can come to check on you!" Mr. Leaf’s face was full of concern.
But as soon as he finished speaking, Mr. Drexler shook his head and suddenly reached out his hand to him.
"Give me a handkerchief!"
Hearing this, although Mr. Leaf was worried, he dared not say more. He took out a folded handkerchief from his pocket and handed it to Mr. Drexler!
Mr. Drexler took the handkerchief with his wrinkled, trembling hand... slowly, he moved to the front of the tombstone, gently wiping the bloodstains, trying to clean them off.
Unfortunately, the blood seemed to have seeped into the tombstone and couldn’t be wiped clean.
Mr. Drexler sighed, then handed the handkerchief back to Mr. Leaf.
"Sir, let me help you back first, and we can call the doctor!" Mr. Leaf looked at him, his voice choked with emotion.
"No, I want to stay here a bit longer." Mr. Drexler waved his hand, saying softly, but his body was increasingly unsteady, forcing him to hold onto the tombstone firmly.
"This body doesn’t listen to me as it used to." He let out a bitter laugh and mocked himself.
"Sir, please listen to my advice!" Mr. Leaf looked at him, almost in tears.
But Mr. Drexler was unmoved, and he had no other way.
"Mr. Leaf, you’ve been with me since you were eighteen, and now several decades have passed..." Mr. Drexler suddenly turned his head slowly to look at Mr. Leaf.
Upon hearing this, Mr. Leaf nodded gently.
"I didn’t expect that you remembered so clearly, sir."
Mr. Drexler looked at him for a while and then suddenly instructed.
"Of course, you’ve been with me for so many years, once I pass, you should go back home to be with your children. I’ll leave you a house, you can sell it. It should be enough for you to enjoy your retirement... don’t despise it, now the Drexler Corporation is beyond my control. This is all I can give you."
"Sir, what are you saying? You will surely live a long time!" Listening to Mr. Drexler, Mr. Leaf couldn’t help but lower his head, wiping his tears secretly.
"There’s no need to hide it from me, I know my own health." Mr. Drexler smiled again.
Mr. Drexler’s words added more sadness to Mr. Leaf’s face.
"Sir... I’m sorry..." The next second, he suddenly kneeled down with guilt.
"I did something that let down the Drexler Family, please punish me."
Hearing Mr. Leaf’s words, Mr. Drexler showed no surprise, calmly responding.
"Stand up, I already know."
Mr. Leaf’s face was filled with shock, looking at Mr. Drexler in disbelief.
"You... already knew?"
