Chapter 674: Chapter 674: A Terrifying Thought Emerges in the Heart
"Mrs. Shawcross, you don’t look well. Are you feeling unwell?" At this moment, Butler Ye noticed something was off about Summer Shawcross’s complexion and couldn’t help but ask with concern.
Hearing Butler Ye’s words, Summer Shawcross finally came back to her senses and gently shook her head.
"I’m fine, it’s just that after hearing what you said, I feel a bit of regret in my heart."
Hearing her words, Butler Ye also let out a sigh.
"Can I go in now?" Summer Shawcross turned to look at the door in front of her, and then suddenly asked Butler Ye.
In response, Butler Ye nodded immediately and reached out to help her twist open the door.
"But Master Noah probably hasn’t woken up yet."
"It’s okay, I just couldn’t sleep at night and came over to take a look." Summer Shawcross smiled and then walked in.
In the Chinese-style bedroom, only a warm-colored lamp was lit. On the large mahogany bed, an elderly man lay there quietly.
Summer Shawcross slowly walked over, stopping only when she reached the bedside.
Master Drexler lay there with his eyes closed, his face pale and sunken, the whole person seemed to have lost much vitality... He looked even older than before, but Summer knew his actual age was much younger than he appeared.
The current Master Drexler was like a different person from the previously stern old man she used to dislike so much.
The sharpness was gone, leaving only the traces of time...
Summer stood by the bed, staring at the still-unconscious Master Drexler for a moment, recalling in her mind the moment when he risked everything to hold back Autumn Duval to ensure her safe escape, leaving her with mixed feelings.
Being saved by someone you dislike felt like such an awkward, strange experience.
Having stared at Master Drexler for quite some time, she finally couldn’t help but sigh and speak out.
"Old fool, wake up soon."
Saying this, she paused, her expression growing more sorrowful.
"You still have a lot of things to explain, and you haven’t repaid what you owe Noah Drexler!"
Master Drexler owed Noah Drexler too much, and even if he wanted to make amends, he should do it personally.
But after she finished speaking, Master Drexler still lay quietly on the bed, his face thin and wrinkled, bloodless, which suddenly startled her, giving rise to a... horrifying thought in her heart.
Could it be that he has just... left like that?
At this thought, Summer Shawcross felt a jolt in her heart, suddenly bending down at the bedside, slowly extending her fingers, intending to check his breath...
Just as her hand was about to touch Master Drexler’s nose...
The previously closed-eyed old man suddenly opened his eyes.
"You little brat, I’m not dead yet!" A voice full of aged displeasure suddenly rang out.
This sudden movement startled Summer Shawcross, causing her whole body to shiver, and then she slowly turned her head to see that Master Drexler had already opened his eyes.
Her face was filled with astonishment as she withdrew her hand.
"Did you... did you do that on purpose to scare me?" She bit her lip, looking at the old man with some displeasure and asked him.
She had been inside for a while, and he hadn’t made a sound or glanced at her. Why did he suddenly open his eyes and speak up just when she thought something was wrong and reached out to check?
