Chapter 592: Chapter 592: She Should Be Happy!
After Mr. Zhou finished speaking, a layer of cold sweat appeared on Autumn Duval’s face.
The middle-aged man smiled, then turned and left.
The servant beside her was startled by her current appearance and hurriedly handed her a tissue.
"Miss Duval, are you okay?"
Autumn paused, then took the tissue from the servant’s hand, wiped the sweat off her face, and forced a smile.
"I’m okay."
Just as she stood up, not far away, a man in a light blue suit, holding a chubby little boy dressed in a matching light blue suit, was striding towards them.
"Miss Duval, Mr. Shaw is here." Seeing the person coming, the servant beside her quickly spoke up to remind Autumn.
Upon hearing this, Autumn looked up, gazing into the distance.
Yancy Shaw approached slowly, carrying his son, and stopped in front of Autumn.
"Mr. Shaw, welcome!" Autumn Duval, with a smile on her face, respectfully said.
Though Yancy Shaw’s influence had somewhat waned in recent years, he remained a formidable figure in the business world. Naturally, Autumn wanted to seize this opportunity to make a good impression and build a connection.
Yancy Shaw stopped in front of her, glanced around with some confusion, and frowned as he spoke.
"Why are you alone? Where are Mr. Drexler and tomorrow’s groom?"
The wedding was tomorrow, but today, only the bride had come to receive guests—neither the father nor the son of the Drexler Family was present!
This surprised him; he had originally thought that the stubborn old man from the Drexler Family would have shown up.
Yancy Shaw’s abrupt question added a hint of awkwardness to Autumn’s face, but she maintained her smile and explained.
"Uncle Drexler isn’t feeling well today, and Night is quite busy, you know, there are many things a groom needs to prepare for the wedding."
In truth, Night couldn’t care less about this wedding. He hadn’t been involved in any of the preparations and hadn’t even tried on his wedding suit for tomorrow, so naturally, he wouldn’t be here today.
But she had originally thought that Mr. Drexler would be there with her to receive guests, but ever since he saw her in her wedding dress last night, he had been acting oddly and didn’t show up today, leaving her wondering what he was doing cooped up in his room.
This was why she was awkwardly left alone today to welcome guests.
Yet even so, she felt no hesitation, because... all of this was what she had longed for. Once the wedding began, her life would be incredibly glorious!
She would have the man she loved most, and the identity, status, and wealth she desired!
She should be happy!
Thinking about this, the awkwardness on Autumn’s face disappeared, replaced by a joyful smile.
And just then, the chubby little boy in Yancy Shaw’s arms curiously asked.
"Dad, can a bride get married alone?"
As this question was asked, the radiant smile on Autumn’s face instantly seemed to freeze like ice.
Listening to his son’s question, Yancy Shaw’s face showed a few more smiles, then he looked down and asked him.
"Why do you ask that?"
"There’s only a bride and no groom," the little guy glanced around, then said honestly.
Just as Yancy Shaw was about to open his mouth to explain, the little guy’s voice continued to ring out.
