Recalling the time when we were preparing to go abroad, everyone at home was so busy, yet so happy, because we were getting what we always wanted.
After Li Jiayuan and Xiao Wei had dinner at home, they planned to visit Zhang Zhentian’s house to see Xia Jing. They didn’t intend to take their child with them, not because Li Jiayuan didn’t want to, but because Li Haixiao didn’t want Li Jiayuan to take the child away. Li Jiayuan and Xiao Wei arrived at Zhang Zhentian’s house. Aunt Xu came over to open the door and took a look. Seeing that it was Li Jiayuan and Xiao Wei, she turned around and shouted to Zhang Zhentian and Xia Jing, "Xia Jing, Zhentian, Xiao Wei is here to see you."
Xia Jing and Zhang Zhentian were still discussing what name to give their child, and here came Xiao Wei.
"Xiao Wei, you two are finally willing to come see me. After all this time, aside from running into each other at the hospital entrance that day, have you ever reached out to me? If Xiao Wei hadn’t come back, were you planning to never visit me in your lifetime? Is this how you act as a sister? It’s really rude." Xia Jing said to Li Jiayuan.
"Sis, don’t say that about me. You know ever since Xiao Wei left, I’ve been in a bad mood. If it weren’t for the child, I might not have survived till today! How can you bear to say that about me? I think you should talk more to Xiao Wei; he left for a year and didn’t say anything after going there. As women, how could we possibly feel comfortable about it?" Li Jiayuan, sounding like she’d been wronged, said to Xia Jing. Xia Jing was helpless, she cast a glance at Xiao Wei, and Xiao Wei screamed internally: This is not good!
"Xiao Wei, honestly, is this how you take care of your wife? A wife is meant to be cared for, not abandoned at a whim. You left just like that without considering when you left, Jiayuan was pregnant with your son. Did you leave thinking you didn’t want your child anymore? Is this how you act as a father? If you hadn’t returned this year, don’t you think Nian Jun would harbor resentment towards you when he grows up?" Xia Jing said to Xiao Wei.
Xiao Wei knew that once Xia Jing’s attention was on him, it wouldn’t go well. And it did happen, all because he’d gone abroad; otherwise, he wouldn’t be getting reprimanded now. Xiao Wei shifted his gaze to Li Jiayuan, and Li Jiayuan noticed Xiao Wei looking at her. She stuck her tongue out at him and said, "Why are you looking at me? It’s Xia Elder Sister speaking, I didn’t ask her to say those things. Don’t look at me this way; I have Xia Elder Sister backing me up!"
Xiao Wei was speechless. Did he ever say he was blaming Li Jiayuan? Why was Li Jiayuan nervous? Zhang Zhentian watched from the side, seeing Xia Jing, Xiao Wei, and Li Jiayuan interacting among themselves, he saw Xia Jing smiling happily and felt content himself.
"Alright, stop standing at the door, come in quickly!" Zhang Zhentian, who hadn’t spoken a word the whole time, finally uttered. "Brother-in-law, it’s been a year since we last met, how have things been?" Xiao Wei asked Zhang Zhentian.
Xia Jing saw Xiao Wei did not greet her but directly went to greet Zhang Zhentian. She widened her eyes at Xiao Wei and said, "Lei Wei, what do you mean, not greeting your sister before running off to greet your brother-in-law? What are you trying to do?"
Xiao Wei with an innocent look responded to Xia Jing, "Xia Elder Sister, how can you say that? The topics you and Jiayuan talk about are women topics, not suitable for us men to hear. Hence, I went to chat about men’s secrets with Brother-in-law!"
Xia Jing, hearing Xiao Wei’s reasoning, felt it made sense, so she didn’t oppose him anymore. She said to Xiao Wei, "Alright then, I’ll chat about women’s topics with your wife, while you men discuss yours. Later, I’ll treat you all to a feast, okay?"
"Of course, who wouldn’t be happy for a meal invitation? Thank you, Xia Elder Sister! As long as Xia Elder Sister doesn’t mind me ordering something pricey, I’m good. "Xia Elder Sister, I have no choice but to go to the United States. My company and brothers are there, I can’t abandon them. Plus, while you’re at home, you have Brother-in-law with you, and you have your child too, right? By the way, did you name my little nephew yet? Where is he? I haven’t seen him yet; is uncle not home either?" Xiao Wei asked Xia Jing.
"Well, Xiao Wei, you’ve been in the United States not even a year yet and have already started your company and have your brothers; impressive, you really have potential, keep flourishing. Don’t worry, your sister is here being well taken care of by Brother-in-law, nothing will happen. As for your little nephew’s name, still under consideration. I don’t even know where my dad ran off to. He’s now completely obsessed with his grandson, carrying him around all day. We don’t see him until evening. Unlike you being at home, where you can hold your child every day, how nice." Zhang Zhentian said, feeling somewhat aggrieved.
Xiao Wei glanced at Zhang Zhentian and said, "Brother-in-law, aren’t you mistaken? You can’t hold your child in the daytime, but you get to enjoy your couple’s world together, unlike me, occasionally during the day I still have to take care of Nian Jun, sigh~"

Without needing Xia Jing to elaborate, both Li Jiayuan and Xiao Wei understood and said in unison to Xia Jing, "Sis, don’t worry, I will definitely not let you down!"
After each chatted for a while, Xia Jing and Zhang Zhentian took Li Jiayuan and Xiao Wei out for dinner.
Always thought escaping to the outside would avoid everything here, but that’s not the case.
