Chapter 411: 411 MCU 86

From Wakanda, what I needed was the Heart-Shaped Herb and their cooperation. Their technology wasn’t necessary since I already had superior tech from the Nanoverse. So I planned to take only what I needed when the opportunity arose.

The Heart-Shaped Herb is a plant that only grows in Wakanda, serving as the source of the superhuman abilities of all Black Panthers. Those who consume it gain superhuman strength, durability, and senses on par with a super-soldier.

Of course, I had briefly researched it before. The conclusion was that it facilitates natural cellular synthesis with vibranium. The herb performs this task very smoothly. While further research could have reproduced it, it would take too long, and I didn’t have time to focus solely on that.

So I decided to just take one conveniently. With [Matter Copy], one sample was all I needed.

For now, I simply waited. The artifact stolen from the British Museum looked like a pickaxe, but the metal at its tip was none other than Wakandan vibranium. That was why Ulysses Klaue and Erik Killmonger had teamed up to steal it for their own purposes.

Wakanda also learned of the theft and discovered that the artifact contained their vibranium. Further investigation revealed that Klaue planned to sell the stolen vibranium at a casino in Busan. In response, T’Challa, his lover Nakia, and Dora Milaje warrior Okoye infiltrated the casino to retrieve the vibranium and capture Klaue.

They succeeded in recovering the vibranium and capturing Klaue, but due to the intervention of Everett Ross—a UN agent who had infiltrated for the same purpose—and his team, a gap opened, and Klaue escaped. I planned to exploit that gap too.

I took the Talarian camper van with stealth mode activated and waited at the casino in Busan. It could have been a different location due to divergence from the original, but [Jack Sparrow’s Compass] pointed here, so it was definitely the right place.

This casino was a secret establishment—only vetted individuals from the fish market could enter. I wondered if such places existed in real life.

BANG! CRASH! SMASH!

Shortly after, Klaue and his men burst out of the casino with a loud commotion. They split into multiple vehicles and fled, with T’Challa and his party quickly giving chase. UN agents followed behind them.

Busan quickly descended into chaos. They showed no regard for being in another country. Klaue and his men scattered in different directions, and their pursuers overturned roads and caused traffic accidents—even using vibranium spears to flip vehicles. Klaue, not one to stay idle, leaned out of his vehicle and fired sonic weapons wildly, damaging nearby buildings.

’These bastards don’t care about other countries at all.’

I watched the chase from above with a frown, and finally, Klaue was captured by T’Challa on a coastal road. T’Challa moved to finish him off, but Nakia and Okoye urgently stopped him—too many witnesses had seen the chaos.

At that moment, UN agents arrived, and they ended up detaining Klaue instead of killing him, taking him somewhere—likely a temporary holding facility arranged by the UN.

Everyone seemed exhausted that day, so they just held him in custody. I used my [Transformation] ability to turn into a black-haired Korean, went to a pork soup restaurant, and had some soju with sundae soup for the first time in a while.

"Ahh! This is the taste!"

"Oh my, you’re really enjoying that. Let me give you some more—take your time."

"Thank you, ma’am."

I ate so well that the owner gave me extra meat and broth.

’There’s nothing like Korean hospitality...’

Eating this reminded me of the sundae soup I used to have back when I worked in reality. Back then, that single bowl was a small comfort that melted away the day’s fatigue and filled both my hunger and my weary heart. I never really adapted, though.

Looking back, it wasn’t just my problem. My boss had plenty of issues too. He never stole his subordinates’ achievements, but he often passed his own mistakes onto them. That led to a lot of pointless overtime and redoing work that was already finished.

’That’s why he was stuck as a department head forever.’

I drifted into nostalgia and drank two more bottles of soju. The owner looked a bit surprised.

"Oh my... three bottles of soju with sundae soup. And you’re still fine. You must be a real drinker."

"Haha, I can hold my liquor. Anyway, I enjoyed the meal. I’ll stop by again when I think of it."

After paying and leaving, I rested in the Talarian. I really should visit the modern Korean world someday—food doesn’t taste the same elsewhere.

The next morning, after breakfast, T’Challa began interrogating Klaue with UN agents. But soon, Erik Killmonger appeared, crashed through the wall, and opened fire with a rifle, rescuing Klaue.

T’Challa tried to chase them, but Everett Ross was shot and critically wounded, forcing him to abort and take Ross back to Wakanda for treatment on the Royal Talon Fighter.

That was my moment. I pursued Klaue and Killmonger. They stopped at a clearing outside Busan where scrapped planes were stored—there was a light aircraft already prepared, suggesting they planned to flee to another country.

I jumped from the Talarian, landed quietly, and waited for them to get out of the car. Then I struck Klaue on the neck, knocking him out. Killmonger and his men saw me and opened fire.

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!

"Damn it! No one said the Avengers were involved!"

"Shut up and keep shooting!"

I created an Eldritch Magic shield to easily block the bullets and advanced, knocking out Killmonger’s men one by one.

"We’re done. I surrender."

Killmonger threw his gun down and raised his hands, signaling surrender.

"Surprising. I didn’t expect you to give up so easily. I thought you’d fight harder."

"How can I fight someone whose bullets don’t even work?"

"I’m not a monster, but fair point."

I immediately put special super-soldier restraints on Killmonger and his men and loaded them into the Talarian.

"Where are we going?"

"Wakanda. This is about Wakandan artifacts."

Killmonger looked surprised.

"I actually have business in Wakanda too. I was going to ask to be judged there, so it’s a relief you’re taking me straight there."

"Business in Wakanda? What kind?"

"You’ll find out when we get there."

"I hope it’s interesting. I’m looking forward to it."

"You won’t be disappointed."

I already knew from the original, but I pretended not to.

Erik Killmonger (real name Erik Stevens) was born in Oakland, California. His father, N’Jobu, was from Wakanda and was killed by T’Challa’s father, T’Chaka, for trying to reveal Wakanda’s secrets to the world. After that, young Erik grew up alone in America, nursing his revenge against Wakanda while developing a strong conviction to change the oppressed reality of Black people worldwide.

With that background, he trained in various martial arts and combat techniques through special forces assignments, becoming highly skilled in strategy and tactics. He was a remarkably capable person, but his childhood wounds and anger made him ruthless and cruel.

"Ugh... Damn it!"

Just then, Klaue woke up.

"You’re awake, thief."

"Ugh, Jin!!! Damn, the Avengers were involved... Wait, where are we going?"

"Wakanda."

"No! I can’t go there! They’ll execute me!"

"Your fate isn’t my concern. If you’ve stolen and killed, you should face the consequences."

"Dammit!!! Oh, wait! I’ll tell you Wakanda’s secrets! Let’s work together—you want to make more money too, right? Wakanda has more vibranium than you think, and their science is beyond imagination! Let me go! I can help you make more money!"

Klaue was trying to bribe me to save his life.

"I already know. About Wakanda’s vibranium stockpiles and their advanced technology. If I didn’t, I wouldn’t be an Avenger."

Klaue looked shocked.

"Th-then why haven’t you done anything?"

"Vibranium is abundant in Wakanda, sure. But it’s not exclusive to them. And you’re mistaken about one thing—our technology is superior. Wakanda’s king asked us to share technology with them. To us, Wakanda is just a small country with some resources and a friendly relationship."

"Th-that’s..."

Klaue seemed shocked. Killmonger, who had been listening, was also surprised.

"I can’t believe the Avengers have superior technology to Wakanda..."

"Who do you think we’ve been fighting? Aliens. No matter how advanced Wakanda is, they can’t keep up with intergalactic technology. Besides, the Avengers have geniuses from all over the world analyzing and improving alien tech—it’s not that difficult."

"I suppose... You did build Gundams..."

Killmonger sighed and conceded. He seemed lost in thought, wearing a complicated expression. I could guess why—his grand ambition to seize Wakanda’s throne and use its power to liberate oppressed Black people had just become essentially impossible. His mind must be in turmoil.

I had already contacted Wakanda to inform them I’d captured the vibranium thieves and would be bringing them over. They expressed gratitude and welcomed me.

Following the route designated by Wakanda, I landed the Talarian on the landing pad in front of the royal palace.

"It’s been a while, King T’Challa."

"Good to see you again, Jin. These bastards were giving me a headache—what a relief. Welcome."

When I arrived, T’Challa, the Dora Milaje, and T’Challa’s sister Shuri greeted me. At a gesture from T’Challa, the Dora Milaje took Klaue, Killmonger, and their men to prison.

"You’re one of the richest and smartest people in the world. I’ve heard a lot about you. The ship the Avengers arrived on last time was truly impressive. I wanted to take it apart, but I couldn’t—it was such a shame. Anyway, I’ve been wanting to meet someone who could build something that amazing."

Shuri was delighted to meet me and immediately started talking about the Aurea and scientific topics. Seeing that the conversation might drag on, T’Challa cleared his throat to cut her off.

"Ahem... Shuri."

Shuri stopped talking, looking a bit sulky. T’Challa smiled and said,

"This is Shuri, my sister."

"Then she’s the princess of Wakanda."

"Yes. She’s a bit immature, but as Wakanda’s leading scientist, she’s unmatched, and her curiosity is insatiable—I hope you understand."

"I see. Nice to meet you—I’m Jin of the Avengers, Your Highness."

When I greeted her, Shuri finally bowed her head in return.

"Sorry about that. I’m Shuri—I oversee Wakanda’s research labs. I’ll show you around the lab later, and we can talk then."

"Hahaha, it seems she’s happy to meet someone smart enough to keep up with her. And handsome to boot."

T’Challa laughed heartily, and Shuri blushed and stammered.

"That’s not it! I just... well..."

"I’ve never seen Shuri like this. Anyway, come inside. We’ll make sure you’re comfortable, so stay as long as you like."

"Thank you for the hospitality."
