Chapter 1616: Chapter 1616: Is This Targeted at Her?
Fen Qianji kneeled on the ground, gasping for air, his face as pale as paper. If it weren’t for the sword he was leaning on, he might have already collapsed.
"Qian Ji!" Han Yan hurriedly handed over another elixir.
"The previous elixir hasn’t been fully refined yet, you should use it yourself." This time, Fen Qianji refused her offer.
Although he was the main force that cut through the massive wave, Han Yan and Jiang Qiling were also affected and sustained serious injuries. Particularly Jiang Qiling, who collapsed and coughed up blood even before Fen Qianji had fully cut through the wave.
It was only now that they realized how terrifying the Luoshen Abyss was. Without Fen Qianji’s presence, the two of them would not have been able to withstand or cut through the wave, which meant certain death.
Han Yan nodded and handed the Dragon Blood Rejuvenation Pill to Jiang Qiling, then took a healing pill herself. The Dragon Blood Rejuvenation Pill was hard to refine, and she didn’t have many of them, so it was unnecessary to waste them.
"Quickly manage your energy to heal your injuries, there’s still more Sword’s Residual Power ahead," Fen Qianji said.
"What, more?" Jiang Qiling nearly jumped like a cat whose tail had been stepped on.
Just one Sword’s Residual Power almost took her life; how could she survive a few more?
"No need to worry too much, I think I can still handle it. As long as we hang on for a few days, Ye Lanfeng will surely find a way to rescue us," Fen Qianji said calmly.

Though the temple and the Holy Court were enemies for generations, he and Ye Lanfeng had mutual respect, and he could see Ye Lanfeng’s true feelings for Han Yan. He believed Ye Lanfeng would not abandon Han Yan.
"Right, how could I have forgotten him? He definitely wouldn’t let Han Yan die," Jiang Qiling breathed a sigh of relief and began working to refine the Dan Power and heal her wounds.
Before she could recover, a wave of heat surged toward them, making them feel as if their bodies were about to be consumed by the heat.
Han Yan also sensed the anomaly, and both opened their eyes simultaneously.
Before them, waves surged again, but this time, they were flaming red, emanating intense heat.
The ground, once soaked like a swamp by the earlier waves, dried instantly, cracking into large pieces. The soil melted under the intense heat, shimmering with a crystal-like brilliance.
With a rumbling roar, pillars of fire shot up to the sky, raining down fiery lava which converged into rivers, crisscrossing the land.
Volcanoes! Moments ago, it had been an endless flood, but now it was a cataclysmic volcanic eruption.
The most terrifying part was that one volcano after another erupted, each getting closer to Han Yan and the others, threatening that a pillar of fire would soon erupt right beneath them.
"It’s strange, why has it come so quickly!" Fen Qianji stood up again, perplexed.
"What?" Han Yan asked instinctively.
"Based on my experience, the Sword’s Residual Power takes a lot of time to form. If we don’t rush it, they usually come at intervals of several hours. Why has it come so quickly this time?" Fen Qianji questioned.
Hearing this, Han Yan felt a jolt in her heart. Considering the time Fen Qianji had spent in the Luoshen Abyss for months, his experience couldn’t be wrong.
Then why was this interval so short this time? Could it have something to do with her?
It was understandable that she had such suspicions. These forces had originally come to the Holy Continent from the Divine Martial World for her. After their deaths, their Sword’s Residual Power was sealed in the Luoshen Abyss, and once she arrived there, the power seemed to change. If it wasn’t related to her, then to whom?
While Han Yan pondered, the rolling fire waves drew closer. Being swallowed by the earlier waves provided some hope for survival, but being engulfed by these fire waves meant certain death without a trace.
The volcanoes were erupting consecutively, nearing them more and more. Looking around, one could see hundreds of fire pillars shooting into the sky, spewing out lava that converged into rivers.
"Mojia Luo... Yesi Hui..." Fen Qianji murmured deeply, drawing his longsword once more.
Like before, the attack was overwhelming and unparalleled, but this time, his hand was trembling. Even though the Dragon Blood Rejuvenation Pill was potent, it couldn’t possibly have fully restored him so soon.
Han Yan and Jiang Qiling took deep breaths and made their moves again. Although their strength wasn’t enough to make a significant difference, they could at least alleviate some of Fen Qianji’s pressure.
The sword light cut through with a dragon’s roar, and the fiery lava splashed like water, creating a chasm on the ground hundreds of feet long and about ten yards wide. The lava river split, flowing around the sides, extinguishing the fire pillars.
Fen Qianji’s legs gave way as he collapsed to the ground.
Though Han Yan and Jiang Qiling remained standing, they were no less exhausted than Fen Qianji, their hands shaking from gripping their swords.
Their clothes were drenched, initially soaked by the sea during the first Sword’s Residual Power, and now by sweat.

Although they hadn’t been directly hit by this fire wave, their meridians and bones felt as if they had been roasted by flames, causing a burning pain.
Han Yan handed another Dragon Blood Rejuvenation Pill to Fen Qianji, her throat parched, unwilling to say more than necessary.
Fen Qianji didn’t refuse this time and took the pill.
This Sword’s Residual Power had appeared too quickly, and the previous elixirs Han Yan and Jiang Qiling had taken weren’t fully refined yet. Saying nothing, they sat down immediately to resume cultivation and restore their Qi.
"Boom..." A rumble echoed from the sky.
"Nine Heavens Thunder!" Han Yan and Jiang Qiling simultaneously opened their eyes, looking up at the sky.
Quickly, they realized they were mistaken; it wasn’t Nine Heavens Thunder. However, the force was equally formidable.
Massive rocks hovered in the air, some several yards in diameter, others the size of millstones, either rugged or smooth, spinning rapidly, colliding with thunderous crashes.
"Where did these rocks come from?" Jiang Qiling, now steadier than before, asked in surprise rather than fright.
The endless waves had ground all stones to dust, leaving the ground flat as a mirror. Although they underwent a fiery lava baptism afterward, the solidified lava formed small hills, not these stones.
