Chapter 897: Chapter 897

Nina Monroe said she was leaving the Imperial Capital, and she really did.

Serena Sullivan came to work the next day, and Wyatt Sterling was absentmindedly in her office.

"What’s wrong?"

Serena asked him.

"Nina Monroe really left!"

Wyatt replied. Last night, Serena said Nina Monroe was leaving the Imperial Capital; he didn’t expect her to actually leave, and so quickly.

"Hmm."

Serena responded; she wasn’t surprised that Nina left so swiftly.

Nina Monroe fell out with Mrs. Kane. Although she and Wyatt hadn’t anything happen between them, they did share a bed for a night, and the setup was orchestrated by her closest confidant, Nina couldn’t stay in the Imperial Capital.

Besides, Wyatt could never like her. Instead of wasting time on a man with no hope, she might as well move on and start fresh elsewhere.

Nina’s misfortune really lay in her background.

"Leaving is a good thing!" Serena smiled at Wyatt, "Bro, why are you so upset, you didn’t fall for Miss Monroe, did you?"

"Miss Monroe is a good person. If you genuinely like her, maybe you should try; you never know, mom and dad might relent."

Serena said half-jokingly.

Wyatt shook his head firmly, "I really don’t like her."

To fall for someone, you have to like them at first sight.

He didn’t like Nina Monroe from the first time he saw her and gradually liked her less. Even now, her actions might have changed his view, but because of Mrs. Kane and Felix Lockwood, there remained a thorn between them.

Knowing in advance that there would be a thorn means he wouldn’t foolishly dive in headfirst and date Nina Monroe, ultimately causing discomfort within the Sterling Family.

"Uh-huh!" Serena nodded; her brother was a bit clumsy but very sensible.

It’s better this way—knowing he doesn’t like someone, he won’t give the person any hope, knowing there’ll be many problems together, he chose to stop first.

"Then why do you look so distracted?"

Lowering his voice, Wyatt replied, "She said she liked me."

"Haha."

Serena laughed aloud; she had noticed long ago that Nina liked Wyatt.

If she wasn’t interested in Wyatt, Nina wouldn’t oppose Mrs. Kane, follow her wishes to lie with Wyatt, then set up a counter-plan.

She didn’t want the person she liked to dislike her ultimately.

"Shows my brother is handsome; it’s good when someone likes you."

Seeing Serena still laughing so happily, Wyatt sighed lightly, "I just don’t understand why she’d like me."

"Fortunately, she’s gone."

With her departure, his dislike wouldn’t hurt her much, and he feared Nina Monroe might be too stubborn, insisting on liking him.

"I’ve other matters; I’ll be off now."

After chatting with Serena, Wyatt felt there was nothing much left to say.

"Is it about dealing with the Kane Group?"

Serena asked. Last night, Ethan Grant said that her father’s next move would target the Kane Group.

Maybe acquiring the Kane Group, or getting rid of Mrs. Kane from it directly.

"No," Wyatt said, his face reddening; he replied softly, "Blind date."

"Oh." Serena curled her lips, before she could offer some advice to her brother, he turned and left.

How awkward! She wondered just what kind of girl the Sterling Family had picked for him!

However, given her brother’s appearance and character, finding a wife wouldn’t be hard at all.
