Chapter 784: Chapter 783: Who Is She?
"Madam, we welcome guests from The Sterling Family, but I’m sorry, we cannot welcome her."
The old gentleman was not as polite as the old lady of the Sterling Family. After speaking, he directly asked Ethan Grant to push Serena Sullivan inside and said, "Serena, don’t worry, Grandpa won’t let in anyone who shouldn’t be here."
The old lady of the Sterling Family watched the three of them walk away and prepared to follow them, but Felicity Sterling tearfully called out, "Grandma."
"Felicity."
The old lady of the Sterling Family slowed her pace, "Be a good daughter-in-law of The Walsh Family, don’t be like your mother."
She paused and added, "Otherwise..."
Until now, The Sterling Family has not publicly disclosed Felicity Sterling’s true background.
They didn’t go to extremes, they just hoped to draw a line between themselves and Felicity Sterling, each living in peace.
Felicity understood, and she looked at the old lady of the Sterling Family resentfully, who followed Serena Sullivan inside, tears streaming down even more.
The Sterling Family’s steward came over to ask Felicity Sterling and the old lady of Walsh to leave.
The old lady of Walsh, unlike The Dowager Kane, was not the kind of person who thought only of herself. She could hear that the elders of the Sterling Family didn’t regard Felicity Sterling as one of their own, though she couldn’t understand why they were doing it, but after all, this was the Sterling Family’s own business.
"Felicity!"
After leaving the Sterling Family, Felicity Sterling was still crying. The old lady of Walsh held her hand gently and said warmly, "Forget it, just don’t return to the Sterling Family."
Since the Sterling Family disliked her, she would stay with The Walsh Family from now on.
"You are the one Elliot likes, I will treat you as my own granddaughter."
The old lady doted on her grandson Elliot Walsh very much, and thus felt affection for Felicity Sterling.
Felicity Sterling responded lightly with a "嗯" and watched as the old lady of Walsh let go of her hand and got into the car first, her eyes showing a trace of unwillingness.
Once the heart loses its balance, it only becomes more bewildered.
Suddenly, the honking of the car’s horn sounded "beep beep beep," pulling Felicity Sterling back from her thoughts consumed by anger. She turned her head to see a car pulling over, Mrs. Kane stepped out from inside, smiling at her.
Felicity Sterling didn’t respond with much of a smile, but she saw another girl coming out of the car, wondering who she could be in relation to Mrs. Kane.
The old gentleman of the Sterling Family took Serena Sullivan inside and explained Felicity Sterling’s situation.
Serena Sullivan smiled, she was somewhat concerned.
However, the Sterling Family handled it well, so she didn’t feel uncomfortable.
She steered the conversation to other topics, when a servant came in to inform the old gentleman that Mrs. Kane had brought Miss Monroe.
"Not seeing them!"
The old gentleman coldly said, directly instructing the servant to refuse them in such a manner.
The Ford Family had harmed Serena so many times, yet they still wished to repair relations with The Sterling Family; it was impossible.
Serena Sullivan also didn’t want to see them, so she didn’t stop the servant from turning them away.
"In the future, if anyone from The Ford Family comes, don’t see them."
The old gentleman added another line.
The Ford Family now is not as it used to be; the power largely resides in Mrs. Kane’s hands, whose networking is quite good, yet The Sterling Family still wouldn’t engage with them.
"Who is this Miss Monroe?"
Serena Sullivan thought of this person and asked.
"Mrs. Kane’s niece."
The old lady of the Sterling Family, having heard gossip, talked about matters concerning The Ford Family.
"After The Dowager Kane fell ill, Mrs. Kane brought her niece into the company."
"Her brother is a gambling addict, but this daughter was raised well and had gone abroad for study years ago."
"After gaining power, Mrs. Kane gave her niece substantial authority."
"I heard she’s managing things quite well!"
"Oh!"
Serena Sullivan replied after hearing the old lady’s words, feeling something was amiss about this Miss Monroe.
