Chapter 1394: Chapter 1388: The Old Fox

Calling Dominic Quinn an old fox is no exaggeration; he wrapped up the call with Nathan Moore and immediately dialed Violet Zimmerman.

Joseph Lancaster was injured and hadn’t gone to the company these past few days; Violet Zimmerman stayed home to keep him company.

In the living room, Violet Zimmerman had a medical kit laid out in front of her as she helped Joseph Lancaster change his dressing. Though a simple bandage would suffice, Violet stubbornly used gauze.

Just as she finished changing it, the phone on the coffee table rang. Violet glanced at it; it was Dominic Quinn’s number, so she answered.

The moment she picked up, Dominic Quinn warmly greeted, "In-law, I called the company earlier, and the secretary said you weren’t there, so I rang your personal number. Am I interrupting?"

Violet politely smiled and said, "No, what can I do for you?"

"Ah, well, there is something, but I’m not sure whether I should mention it."

Dominic Quinn feigned hesitation, giving a sense of reluctance. Violet replied courteously, "Just speak openly; we’ll soon be family."

"Alright, alright," Dominic Quinn nodded eagerly. "In-law, here’s the thing; it seems that your son isn’t happy with our families’ alliance. He’s already gone to threaten Vivian and I just received a call from Director Moore of the Moore Corporation,"

At this point, Dominic Quinn paused and tentatively asked, "Shall I play the recording for you?"

Violet’s maintained smile slowly faded, replaced by a stern expression. Nathan calling Dominic Quinn could only be for one reason.

However, she still said, "Go ahead." Her tone was no longer amicable, carrying a clear authority.

Joseph, seated beside her, instinctively leaned in to listen. Seeing this, Violet knowingly moved the phone towards him, then leaned her own head in.

Nathan Moore’s unhurried voice came through the receiver:

...I grew up with Evander, he’s never asked me for anything... As a brother, I won’t hesitate to help...

Hearing Nathan Moore’s obvious threat, Violet gritted her teeth and cursed, "That brat!"

After the call recording ended, Dominic Quinn’s voice came through once more.

"In-law, the alliance between our families is mutually agreeable. Now, Director Moore is clearly threatening me... If I don’t agree to his terms, the funding for the company’s new project development will be severed— as you know, in-law, a funding break means disaster. The Quinn family is not as vast as your Lancaster family. With Director Moore’s approach, I’m really caught in a tough spot!"

Dominic Quinn’s words were not empty threats; there’s a genuine concern about funding issues and a subtle hint for Violet to step in.

Being a businesswoman, Violet naturally understood his implication and smiled, saying, "Don’t worry, we..."

"Is this Mr. Quinn? It’s Joseph Lancaster." Before Violet could finish, Joseph took the phone and held it to his ear, his eyes conveying a professional coldness.

Dominic Quinn was taken aback to find the Lancaster family’s second-in-command next to Violet, hesitating briefly before responding jovially with greetings.

"So, the second master is here too; that makes things easier." In the company, Joseph had considerable authority, and during his brother’s illness years ago, he had been managing the operations.
