Chapter 1385: Chapter

"This..." Juliana Lancaster turned the items towards her daughter. She had been quite unhappy with Evander Lancaster’s mother’s actions, but now, seeing him put all his possessions on the table for her daughter, what more could she criticize?

"Mom, give them to me." Sophia Hamilton took everything from her mother’s hands and, in a huff, stuffed it all back into her handbag, then stood up and walked toward her bedroom.

"Evander Lancaster, come in here!"

Evander Lancaster looked at his mother-in-law, "Mom, I’m going in first."

Juliana Lancaster nodded, letting out a clear sigh as Evander followed Sophia.

Such a good child, how did he end up with such an unreasonable mother?

As soon as Sophia Hamilton entered the bedroom, she threw the handbag back at him, "Take it back, I don’t care!" Hmph! There was still one card of hers in there — the one with five million; she recognized it.

Evander caught the handbag, and as Sophia was about to head to bed, he pulled her back, hugging her from behind. Though Sophia’s current figure made his arms seem a bit short, it was the thought that counted.

His handsome face pressed against Sophia’s ear, his drooped eyes shimmering with a smile, his seductive voice near her ear, asking, "Really don’t want it? My savings aren’t much, but altogether it reaches eight figures."

Sophia Hamilton quickly calculated in her mind what eight figures amounted to. Hmm? Should be more than ten million. Her heart skipped a beat at Evander’s words, "Year-end is almost here; adding this year’s bonus, it should exceed a hundred million."

"Give it here!" Once Evander finished speaking, Sophia snatched the handbag from him.

Savings over a hundred million — that’s incredible. They say when men have money, they start misbehaving. He can’t have too much money, or he’ll sneak out on her!

"Ha..." In her ear, Evander’s low laughter resonated, deep and magnetic, vibrating her eardrums.

Suddenly Sophia realized her reaction had been a bit too direct. But, he was the one offering, she wasn’t forcing him to give it, so with a taut face, she asked seriously.

"What about the hospital’s legal representative? When will that change to my name?"

Evander Lancaster...

Didn’t expect the pregnant lady to be so greedy, saying with a mixture of tears and laughter, "Honey, it’s not that I’m unwilling. Opening a hospital inevitably leads to medical incidents. If something happens, the one sued would be the legal representative."

Sophia Hamilton...

"Okay, just leave it with you. In case one day I can’t stand you and leave, at least you won’t be begging on the streets!"

"Thanks, Honey." Evander gave Sophia a peck on the cheek, only to be pushed away by her in disdain.

"Let me clarify, I’m not your wife. Your wife is that what’s-her-name, Vanessa; at most, we’re bedmates, no legal protections!"

Mentioning Vanessa Quinn, Evander’s eyes involuntarily tightened, his carefree smile vanished, and he helped Sophia sit on the bed, holding her shoulder seriously.

"Do you trust your man?"

Although unclear why Evander asked this, Sophia nodded instinctively.

"Alright then, stay with Mom for now. Once I’ve handled everything, I’ll come get you!"

Facing Evander’s resolute gaze, Sophia subconsciously nodded, "Okay."

"Just behave, and don’t think too much!" With that, Evander turned and strode out.

"Where are you going?" Sophia asked anxiously, "To do what I should be doing!"
