Hannah Hargrave stood at the door, one hand braced on the doorframe, lips pressed tight, eyes full of suppressed anger. She suddenly coughed twice, "Auntie Wang, bring me the slippers!"
Auntie Wang craned her neck to look to the door, seeing Hannah Hargrave standing there, she put down the utensils, smiling as she walked over, "Oh, madam, you’re back! How come there was no sound!"
Auntie Wang placed a new pair of slippers on the floor. After Hannah put them on, she let out a cold laugh, "You all were so deep in conversation, how could you care about me, the madam?"
"Madam, what are you saying? You’re the hostess; we as maids wouldn’t dare neglect you!"
Auntie Wang stood by, smiling and deflecting, the so-called smiling foxes are just like her.
"Alright, stop with the pleasantries, go eat!" Hannah Hargrave impatiently admonished, shuffling in her slippers to the dining table, giving Sophie Foster a glance before sitting confidently beside her.
"Auntie Wang, get me some rice!"
Hannah didn’t recognize Xiaomei, so she had to rely on Auntie Wang.
Auntie Wang smiled and responded, "Okay, coming, madam."
In the past, when the maids called her madam, Hannah felt it was an honor, but now she found it to be a great irony.
The maids kept calling her "madam," yet they treated Nicholas Croft’s mistress so warmly, flattering and fawning over her, never treating Hannah herself like this!

Auntie Wang placed the rice in front of Hannah Hargrave, "Madam, here you go,"
