Chapter 1309: Chapter 1304: Who Harmed Madam, and Why Doesn’t Sir Prosecute Her?

When Nicholas Croft returned to the new home, it was already past noon. Upon seeing him walk through the door, Little May quickly got up from the sofa.

"Sir, Miss... she refused to eat lunch, no matter how I tried to persuade her, she just ignored me."

"Got it." Nicholas nodded, changed into slippers, and headed towards the bedroom.

In the bedroom, Sophie Foster was curled up in the hanging chair, hugging her knees, slightly swaying while staring blankly outside. Nicholas closed the door and walked over, "Why isn’t my baby eating lunch, are you waiting for daddy?"

Sophie slowly turned her gaze from the window to Nicholas, looking up at him, her eyes somewhat dazed.

Nicholas’s fingers gently stroked Sophie’s face, her skin was smooth and flawless, like a perfect porcelain doll.

Her eyebrows still had the same shape, her eyes, though cold and unfeeling, still carried their original shadow. Her nose was small and upturned, lips full, and chin a perfect ingot shape.

Having worked in the entertainment industry for many years, Nicholas had grown tired of artificial beauties. He used to love Sophie’s natural appearance. But now, he suddenly felt that alterations were also fine because no matter how she changed, what mattered was that she was his woman.

"What’s wrong, baby, do you miss daddy?" Nicholas asked gently. Sophie, feeling wronged, pouted and wrapped her arms around his waist, nestling into his embrace. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

"Daddy, baby is hungry,"

"Good baby, daddy will take you to eat now,"

Nicholas picked up Sophie, who was clinging to his arms, and strode out of the bedroom.

"Little May, prepare the meal."

"Ready, sir." Little May quickly dashed to the kitchen, set the table with bowls and chopsticks, and then relit the stove to reheat the dishes.

A few minutes later, Little May put the last dish of soup on the table and said to the two already waiting at the dining table.

"Sir, Miss, dinner is served."

"Mm, you sit too." Nicholas responded mildly, took a metal spoon and a rice bowl, and fed a spoonful of rice into Sophie’s mouth, then picked some vegetables, feeding her like a child.

Little May, while scooping rice into her mouth, watched the two curiously. After a while, she finally understood what was happening.

"Miss, if the sir isn’t home in the future, I will feed you."

Sophie took a piece of fish fed by Nicholas, turned and glared at Little May, wrinkling her nose, "No, I want daddy to feed me."

Little May...

Her good intentions were taken as an insult.

She was just doing it for her own good, didn’t want her to go hungry.

"Daddy, can you feed me every day from now on?" Sophie turned to Nicholas, slightly tilting her face with a beguiling look.

"Sure, as long as baby eats more, daddy will feed baby every day." Nicholas picked up the soup bowl, fed a spoonful of soup to Sophie, his eyes filled with warmth. Seeing her boss so gently and patiently coaxing his wife, Little May suddenly hung her head.

Unable to swallow the feeling of guilt, if it weren’t for her negligence... madam wouldn’t be like this now, nor would sir have to work so hard.

"Sir... I’m sorry, it’s all my fault..." Little May opened her mouth self-reproachfully. Nicholas, while feeding Sophie soup, said lightly, "It’s not your fault, someone deliberately wanted to harm madam." Even if the car accident didn’t happen, they would create other accidents in the future.

"Who hurt madam? Why doesn’t sir sue them?"
