Chapter 1244: Chapter 1239: If I Don’t Tell, You Don’t Tell, How Would She Know?
"Madam, didn’t you say to help the CEO take some things back? He’s probably getting anxious since we’ve been out so long," Harry Zachary awkwardly lowered his gaze, not daring to meet Josephine Hawthorne’s eyes.
Even though he sensed her intentions towards him on the way back, he hadn’t expected her to be so direct.
Josephine deliberately feigned confusion, furrowing her brows slightly and gently sliding a hand down her face. "Aren’t I?"
"You really know how to joke," Harry glanced at her before quickly lowering his head again, forcing a smile while secretly trying to pull his wrist free. But Josephine held on tightly, refusing to let go.
With her other hand, Josephine reached over, grabbing Harry’s chin like a man might treat a woman, turning his face towards her. She curved her lips into a faint smile, looking directly into his eyes, as she teasingly asked, "Don’t you understand what I mean?"
"Madam, I’m your daughter’s assistant, please..."
"Oh? What should I do?" Before Harry could finish his sentence, Josephine interrupted, raising her brows with a sly smile. The buttons at the back of her shirt were all undone, loosely draping over her front like an apron, exposing the deep cleavage of her fair skin right in front of Harry.
Though Josephine was a bit older, her front was undeniably impressive, more so than most women. Feeling sorry for him, Harry could only face this scene, wanting to avert his gaze, yet his chin was held firmly by Josephine.
Harry awkwardly licked his lips, instinctively glancing over — it wasn’t intentional, just human nature.
Noticing his discomfort, Josephine curled a meaningful smile and continued, "Though you are my daughter’s assistant, have you ever thought that just with one word from me, you might lose this job by tomorrow?"
"Madam, what do you want?"
Due to his special relationship with Hannah Hargrave, Harry could only pretend to be clueless and evade.
"Isn’t it obvious?" Josephine didn’t answer but asked back, leaning in slightly with a seductive smile as she met Harry’s gaze, "As long as you please me, if you want to be a star, I could immediately talk to Hannah about it. If you find a star’s life too hard, as long as you stick with me, I can ensure you a lifetime of wealth and prosperity..."
Harry...
Still attempting one last struggle, he reached out to remove Josephine’s hand from his chin, hesitantly saying, "Madam, please don’t do this. I’m your daughter’s assistant. If she knew..."
"I won’t tell, and you won’t tell, so how would she find out?"
Once again, Harry’s words were cut off by Josephine, her raised brows carrying an unmistakable air of pressure. You had to admit, she took care of herself well, as even with such expressive gestures, her face only showed a few fine lines.
Harry licked his lips, left without words, as Josephine curled her lips once more and said, "If you don’t want to, you can refuse, but..." Deliberately drawing out her words, Josephine let go of Harry’s wrist, folded her arms, leaned back into the sofa, and indifferently said, "Perhaps you won’t be able to be Hannah’s assistant anymore..."
Josephine’s threat was clear. Harry knew that if he didn’t comply, he would lose his job. As he hesitated, Josephine had already picked up a purse from the sofa, extracting a Gold Card and slipping it into his hand, "There’s half a million here. As long as you follow me, I promise you glory and wealth in the future..."
...
In the CEO’s office at Phoenix Entertainment Ltd, Hannah Hargrave glanced at the time on her wrist. It’s been over two hours, and the assistant hasn’t returned yet. She grabbed her phone, pulled up Harry Zachary’s number, and dialed.
