Chapter 1241: Chapter 1236: Just Let the Assistant Take Me Home

A woman in her fifties, because of good upkeep, looks at most in her forties, with skin on her face and hands fairer and more delicate than some young people who frequently stay up late.

"Mom, why are you here?" Hannah Hargrave pressed her phone to go dark and put it on the desk, slightly bent her body as if she were about to stand.

Josephine Hawthorne walked over and put the bag she was holding on the desk, then sat down.

"Nothing special, just came out for a stroll and happened to drop by."

"Nothing special?" Hannah Hargrave frowned in disapproval, "Did you leave Dad with the nanny again?"

Mentioning Henry Hargrave, Josephine shifted her position and lowered her gaze, speaking unnaturally, "With your dad’s current condition, it doesn’t matter who takes care of him; he can’t care for himself, he even needs someone to feed him a sip of water."

Hannah Hargrave furrowed her brows again; though she wasn’t satisfied with her mother’s behavior, she couldn’t say anything.

Taking a deep breath, she clearly didn’t want to continue the conversation, "Mom, you must be tired, would you like coffee or green tea?"

Josephine raised her head with a smile and said, "I’m not tired, just passing by to take a look, I’ll be leaving shortly."

Hannah Hargrave faintly curved her lips and didn’t say anything, Josephine casually turned her head to glance toward the door, and when she looked back, seeing her daughter watching her, laughed lightly and feigned curiosity, "Is your office always this quiet?"

"Mom, I’m working, not here for leisure!" Facing such an immature mother, Hannah Hargrave felt quite helpless. Josephine laughed again, reaching to pick up her bag, ready to leave.

"You go ahead and work, I’ll head back first."

"Mom, did you bring a driver?" Hannah Hargrave casually asked, just a polite remark, but Josephine looked surprised and said, "Oh, thanks to your reminder, I almost forgot. While shopping at the department store, I sent the driver away, looks like I’ll need to catch a cab myself."

"I’ll have a driver take you back." How could Hannah Hargrave bear to let her mother take a cab back, as she spoke, she had already grabbed the landline, but Josephine stopped her.

"Hannah, no need to trouble the driver, don’t you have several assistants? Just send one to take me back."

Josephine took the phone from her daughter and put it back. Hannah Hargrave felt like her mother was hiding something from her, just as she was about to speak, the office door was knocked.

"Come in." Hannah Hargrave leaned back in her office chair, straightened her posture with an air of authority.

Harry Zachary pushed the door open and walked in, holding a cup of coffee, saw Josephine inside and politely nodded, "Hello, Madam."

"Ah, hello, hello." Josephine’s eyes followed Harry Zachary as he moved, seeing him put the coffee on the desk, hurriedly grabbed her bag and said, "Hannah, let him take me back, don’t bother the driver, it’s troublesome."

"Alright," Hannah Hargrave reached out for the coffee, and as she brought it to her lips, she casually instructed, "Assistant Zachary, take my mother back."

Harry Zachary glanced at Hannah Hargrave and then turned to look at the elderly woman standing by his side, and slightly bowed to Hannah Hargrave, "Yes, President."

After speaking, he slightly turned and extended his arm, "Madam, please."

"Mm." Josephine responded, holding her bag with her chin slightly raised as she walked toward the office door. Watching her gracefully elegant back, Harry Zachary noticeably sighed before following.

At the underground parking lot below the company building, Harry Zachary opened the back seat door and had just extended his arm when Josephine had already walked to the front and opened the front passenger door.

"I prefer sitting in front, it offers a broad view."
