Chapter 168: Chapter 166: He Has Always Been a Man Who Moves My Heart (6)
"Sure, Jean, let’s go together. I remember when my brother was filming his debut project, I tried to drag you along to watch, but you refused to go no matter what."
Jean Grant gave a dry laugh. "I wasn’t interested in acting back then. I thought people in the film industry were too flighty, but I don’t feel that way anymore."
"I was just about to go anyway, so why don’t we go now? My brother went out of town for a charity event, and he should be heading to the set around now."
The two of them got up and went to the film studio together.

Having just finished his makeup, Ethan Ellsworth went to the set with Chloe Marshall. The first scene of the day was his scene with Nora Ainsworth.
As soon as they arrived on set, they saw Nora Ainsworth sitting in a chair with Zeke Marshall beside her. When he saw Ethan arrive, Zeke immediately stood up. "Boss Ellsworth, sit here."
Ethan Ellsworth smiled at her. "I know you’re drop-dead gorgeous with makeup on, but I’m still not used to it. Nora, are you nervous?"
Nora Ainsworth placed her teacup on the table. "You’re here, aren’t you? So no, I’m not nervous. I’m actually quite happy."
Chloe Marshall lowered her head and said, "Boss Ellsworth, Nora, let me take a photo of you two together and post it on Weibo."
Ethan Ellsworth nodded. "Okay."
He and Nora Ainsworth moved closer, their heads touching as they smiled together. Chloe Marshall looked at them and praised, "You two are so photogenic. A handsome man and a beautiful woman. I’ll post it on Boss Ellsworth’s Weibo, and Nora, you have to repost it, okay?"
Nora Ainsworth took out her phone. "No problem."
Just as she spoke, Zoe Ellsworth’s voice came from a distance. "Bro."
Ethan Ellsworth looked over, his expression changing in an instant. "What are you doing here?"
Jean Grant, all smiles, cut in. "Hey, I’m here too. Shouldn’t you be asking what *we’re* doing here?"
Ethan Ellsworth’s smile faded slightly. "What are you two doing here?"
Zoe Ellsworth answered, "I wanted to come see you film, Bro. Jean and I happened to be having coffee at a café, so we came together."
Ethan Ellsworth looked at Jean Grant. Her face was a little pale, and she gave him a friendly smile for the first time.
This smile didn’t make Ethan swoon. It just felt surreal.
It felt unnatural, leaving him with a sense of desolation.
"Ellsworth! Nora! Hurry up and get ready to shoot. We’re starting!" the director, Cecelia Willow, shouted.
"Coming!"
Ethan Ellsworth handed his script to Chloe Marshall and walked toward the set with Nora Ainsworth.
Jean Grant looked at Chloe Marshall, walked over to her, and whispered, "Are you and Ethan Ellsworth together?"
Chloe Marshall hadn’t said a word since Jean appeared. Hearing her question, she just nodded.
"Does Ethan Ellsworth love you?"
Chloe Marshall didn’t know how to answer, but she nodded anyway.
"Heh—" Jean Grant couldn’t bring herself to ask more, only saying, "Are you two going to get married?"
Chloe Marshall didn’t answer that question. Instead, she said, "Miss Grant, what are you trying to find out by asking these things?"
Jean Grant turned away. "Exactly what I asked."
"Why don’t you ask Boss Ellsworth yourself? If you ask him, he can give you a clear answer."
Jean Grant fell silent. "No need."
She lifted her head to look at the set, staring at the smiling man, and suddenly asked, "What’s the name of this TV series?"
Chloe Marshall answered, "Love when the sun comes out."
Jean Grant was a bit taken aback. "’Love when the sun comes out’? This is the second modern drama Ethan has taken on, right?"
Chloe Marshall nodded. "Yes. It’s a great show, and he’s co-starring with Nora again, which is why Boss Ellsworth agreed to be in it."
"My brother and Nora Ainsworth have completely broken up. It’s a bit of a shame."
Chloe Marshall said nothing. On this matter, she could only discuss it with Nora Ainsworth. It wasn’t her place to talk about it with anyone else.

By the time Nora Ainsworth and Ethan Ellsworth finished filming, it was already six o’clock.
The group went to a nearby restaurant for dinner.
After they finished eating, Nora Ainsworth and Zeke Marshall both went back to the hotel. Ethan Ellsworth drove off to take Zoe Ellsworth and Jean Grant home, leaving Chloe Marshall standing there, unsure whether to go back to the hotel or go with Ethan.
In the end, she decided to just head back to the hotel as if nothing was wrong, but Zoe Ellsworth called out to her, "Sister-in-law, come with us. Mom keeps asking about you."
Chloe Marshall nodded, opened the car door, and sat in the front passenger seat.
When the car reached the city and was heading toward their neighborhood, Jean Grant suddenly said, "Let’s go to your house first. I haven’t been in a long time. I’d like to pay a visit to Mrs. Ellsworth."
Ethan Ellsworth replied hoarsely, "Okay."
When the car stopped in front of the Ellsworth Residence, the four of them got out.
Mrs. Ellsworth hadn’t expected them to come back tonight. Seeing Chloe Marshall, she immediately stood up and said with a beaming smile, "Chloe, you’re back! Have you eaten? If not, Mom will go make you something."
Chloe Marshall smiled. "Mom, there’s no need. We already ate at the film studio."
"Jean, you’re here! Quick, sit down, don’t just stand there."
Jean Grant couldn’t help but feel that her own mother-in-law was a world apart from Mrs. Ellsworth.
She felt a pang of bitterness.
"Yes, Mrs. Ellsworth. It’s been a long time. I was just passing by and thought I’d drop in to see you."
Mrs. Ellsworth pushed the fruit bowl on the table toward her. "Have some fruit."
After speaking, Mrs. Ellsworth looked at Chloe Marshall. "I knew Zoe was going to the set to see her brother this afternoon. Before she left, I even told her to have you come back if she saw you. I didn’t expect you to actually come."
"Mom, I’ll come see you often from now on." Chloe Marshall felt a warmth spread through her heart. This feeling often made her think of Mrs. Ellsworth as her own biological mother.
"Oh, right. Since you’re back tonight, I didn’t prepare any nourishing soup in advance. I’ll go make some now."
"Mom!" Ethan Ellsworth heard this, shot up, and stopped her. "Mom, please don’t make it again. Just thinking about that stuff makes me want to throw up."
Mrs. Ellsworth heard this and said, "Didn’t you say drinking it made you look radiant?"
"It did back then, but now I feel like it’s useless. Besides, having too much of a good thing is bad for you. Please, just don’t make it anymore, okay? Your son is begging you!"
Mrs. Ellsworth laughed. "Alright, alright, if you don’t want it, I won’t make it. You’re strong enough, but Chloe still needs to drink it regularly."
"Next time, maybe. Chloe and I have to get back to the set. We should get going now."
Hearing this, Mrs. Ellsworth grew anxious. "You’ve barely been back for a few minutes, and you’re leaving already?"
"Mom, I’ll come back again when I have time," Chloe Marshall said comfortingly.
"Alright. Well then, son, drive safe."
Ethan Ellsworth grunted in acknowledgment. "Don’t worry, it’s fine. Your son’s driving skills are amazing."
Once they were out the door and in the car, Jean Grant remarked with a sigh, "Chloe, Mrs. Ellsworth is so good to you."
"Yes, she’s like a real mother to me."
Ethan Ellsworth, who was driving, retorted, "Isn’t Marlon’s mom good to you?"
Jean Grant replied, "She’s so-so."
"She has such a rich daughter-in-law, and instead of fawning over you, she gives you attitude? What gives her the right?"
Jean Grant said frankly, "What else could it be? Her son."
Ethan Ellsworth fell silent.
Jean Grant hesitated for a moment, then, completely ignoring Chloe Marshall’s presence, she said, "Ethan, that love letter you gave me... I read it."
