Chapter 133: Chapter 131: Did You Go Lay an Egg? (2)

"Not at all. It’s the right thing to do."

As they spoke, they all walked to the main entrance to be interviewed by the media.

With pictures and videos as proof, the truth was undeniable.

In a short time, the internet was in a complete uproar.

When Mrs. Lynch saw the report, she almost collapsed to the ground.

She quickly called the servant accompanying Leon Lynch on his trip. "You must not let the young master see the news about Nora Ainsworth online. Otherwise, don’t even bother coming back!"

After hanging up, Mrs. Lynch paced back and forth in the living room, unable to calm down. Her son had finally managed to break free from that Nora Ainsworth. She would absolutely not let him get entangled with her again.

After thinking for a good while, just as Mrs. Lynch was preparing to go out, the butler came in. "Madam, a young lady from the Sutton Family is here to see the young master."

Mrs. Lynch looked up. "A young lady from the Sutton Family?"

"Indeed. Her name is Maeve Sutton."

"Let her in." Mrs. Lynch turned and sat on the sofa, waving a hand at a servant. "Bring two cups of tea."

As she finished speaking, Maeve Sutton walked in. It was clear she had put on makeup for the occasion and was wearing the latest designer autumn collection.

"Auntie, I heard Leon went on a trip. I couldn’t reach him, so I came to ask when he’ll be back."

Mrs. Lynch gave a dignified smile. "Miss Sutton, is this your first time visiting our home? I don’t believe I’ve seen you here before."

Maeve Sutton smiled back. "Yes, it is. That’s why I made a special trip today."

"Leon just left, and he hasn’t set a return date. However, you could go find him. How about I give you his address?"

Hearing this, Maeve Sutton’s eyes instantly lit up. "Really?"

Mrs. Lynch had seen a lot in her life and could tell at a glance that the girl liked her son. She immediately smiled and nodded. "Of course, it’s true. But I’d like to hear you say it yourself. Do you have feelings for Leon?"

Maeve Sutton nodded. "I’ve liked him for a very long time. I know he likes Nora Ainsworth."

Mrs. Lynch asked, seemingly nonchalant, "You know Nora Ainsworth?"

"Auntie, to be honest with you, Nora Ainsworth and I used to be good friends. But we had a falling out and don’t speak anymore."

"May I ask why you grew apart?"

"It was because of Leon." Maeve Sutton told the truth. "She knew perfectly well that I liked your son, but she still tried to steal him from me. So, we stopped talking after that."

Hearing this, an idea immediately formed in Mrs. Lynch’s mind. "Do you want to marry our Leon?"

Maeve Sutton felt like this was her lucky day. She nodded at once. "Of course, I do. More than anything."

Mrs. Lynch beckoned to her. "Come, sit beside me. I liked you the moment I saw you, and I would be very happy to have you as my daughter-in-law. How about this? I’ll teach you a method that will ensure you marry my son."

Maeve Sutton moved closer, and Mrs. Lynch quickly whispered a few words in her ear.

When she finished, Maeve Sutton couldn’t contain her excitement and grasped Mrs. Lynch’s hands. "This is wonderful! Auntie, thank you so, so much."

Mrs. Lynch reached out and tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear. "It’s nothing. I’m only doing this because I like you. I’m sure you will be a fine daughter-in-law to the Lynch Family."

Maeve Sutton nodded gratefully. "Then I’ll go home and get ready right now. I’ll book a flight over."

"Go on."

Maeve Sutton left the Lynch Family’s home in high spirits. Mrs. Lynch remained seated, her anxiety and panic finally subsiding. She would rather have Leon marry a daughter-in-law she could easily control than have her son marry Nora Ainsworth!

Coming out of the police station, Quentin Grant looked at Ethan Ellsworth. "Want to head to the Grant Residence?"

Ethan Ellsworth gave a wicked grin. "Why not? There’s a good show we can’t miss."

Quentin Grant nodded, then said to Herman Hawthorne, who was acting as their driver, "Back to the Grant Residence."

When the car stopped at the main gate of the Grant Residence, Jean Grant’s Porsche was still there, which meant she hadn’t left.

Herman Hawthorne waved his hand. "You guys go on in. I’ll stay out here."

Quentin Grant opened the car door. "Suit yourself."

The three of them had just stepped into the courtyard when the servants and the butler who saw Nora Ainsworth jumped in fright. They thought their eyes were playing tricks on them. Only after moving closer for a better look did they realize it was really her.

Before they could speak, Quentin Grant waved a hand dismissively. "This has nothing to do with you. Leave us. Go back to whatever you were doing."

As they reached the living room doorway, Mrs. Grant’s cold voice drifted out. "Jean, I will absolutely not agree to this!"

Ethan Ellsworth’s expression dimmed, and he followed them inside.

Mrs. Grant finished speaking and then saw the three of them. The moment she saw Nora Ainsworth, she looked confused. "Nora Ainsworth? Aren’t you dead?"

Nora Ainsworth smiled faintly. "Auntie, I’m not dead."

Mrs. Grant frowned. "Since you’re not dead, Catherine can be released without any trouble."

"Mom." Quentin Grant’s voice was low. "Does Nora have to actually die for her to go to prison?"

"Quentin." Mrs. Grant’s expression was unpleasant. "You know what Catherine’s relationship is to our family. How can I just stand by and watch her spend the rest of her life in prison?"

Nora Ainsworth spoke up at the right moment. "I may not know what Miss Callahan’s relationship is to you, Auntie, but what about me, someone who has no relationship with you? If I hadn’t been so lucky, would I have just been left to die?"

Mrs. Grant was at a loss for words. "But you’re fine, aren’t you? Since that’s the case, just drop it. Tell me what you want."

Nora Ainsworth refused decisively. "I don’t need anything. All I want is for her to pay the price for her actions. Otherwise, if she gets out, I think she might really succeed in killing me."

Quentin Grant took her hand. "I won’t let anything happen to you again."

Mrs. Grant was startled. Only then did she realize that her son’s relationship with Nora Ainsworth was unusual.

"Quentin, isn’t she Herman’s—"

Quentin Grant explained seriously, "Mom, Nora has been my woman since last year. I just never made it public. After everything that’s happened, I think it’s necessary to lay my cards on the table with you and Dad."

Mrs. Grant pressed her temples. "What have I done to deserve this today? Are you two siblings trying to kill me with anger?!"

Quentin Grant took a deep breath. "Mom, I’ve always made my own decisions about my life. You don’t need to overthink it. I’ve also made my position clear on Jean’s matter. I don’t want to get involved in the rest of it."

Mrs. Grant sat on the sofa and looked up at him. "I didn’t really have an impression of Nora before, but just based on how she contradicted me today, I disapprove. Quentin, you know how Catherine feels about you. Are you trying to drive her to her death? Besides, didn’t I tell you? Even if you really don’t want to marry Catherine, that Charlotte Young I introduced you to isn’t bad either."

Quentin Grant’s tone was laced with determination. "The person I’ve chosen will not change."

Mrs. Grant laughed. "Then let me ask you, Quentin, didn’t you say the same thing to me back then for Catherine? For me to approve of you two, you even knelt before me. You’re just temporarily bewitched by her now. When you come to your senses, you’ll realize that tomorrow’s Nora is today’s Catherine."
