Chapter 1687: Chapter 1687: Yue Siqing’s Unusual Behavior (3)

"Mr. Yue..."

Sheng Wei watched Yue Siqing walk toward the restroom, feeling somewhat uncomfortable.

In the end, she said to Song Yi, "That’s just how he is, Mr. Song, don’t mind him."

"It’s alright, I understand, I have a sister too," Song Yi said, holding a glass of lemonade. "Although they’re not biological siblings, Jinjin does consider him as a brother."

Sheng Wei raised her eyebrows slightly, "Really?"

In fact, she wasn’t sure what kind of relationship Gu Anjin and Yue Siqing had; she just relied on her female intuition, sensing their relationship was somewhat unclear.

Hearing Song Yi say they’re not biological siblings, but Gu Anjin considers him a brother, she didn’t believe it.

"Yes, Miss Sheng, isn’t this kind of relationship between Mr. Yue and Miss Gu obvious?" Song Yi probed.

"I know Mr. Yue sees her as a sister, but how Miss Gu views Mr. Yue, I don’t know," Sheng Wei said with a smile, putting down her glass and looking up. "Seeing her with Mr. Song, I think her little rebellion against Mr. Yue might just be youth."

Gu Anjin splashed cold water on her face to snap out of it.

Her previous plan wasn’t wrong; if Yue Siqing truly ended up with someone else, she’d never see him again.

Not only because of avoiding suspicion but because she couldn’t stand watching it unfold right in front of her eyes without reacting.

She lifted her head from the sink and suddenly froze at the sight in the mirror.

The tall, aloof man stood behind her, his black suit seamlessly matching his demeanor.

Their gazes met in the mirror, and she pressed her lips tightly together, not speaking for a moment.

"Let’s go back," Yue Siqing stepped forward, looking at the pale-faced, exhausted girl in the mirror. "It’s late."

"Why are you here?" Gu Anjin asked softly, wiping the water with a tissue. "It’s not good for you to leave your seat, what about Miss Sheng?"

"Her?"

She lowered her gaze, threw the tissue in the bin, and said casually, "Isn’t she your girlfriend? Brother Siqing, you shouldn’t have come today. I really have nothing going on, nor do I want to interrupt your date."

"You’re overthinking," Yue Siqing said as he stood tall beside her, his thin lips moving slightly. "It’s anything but a date with her."

"You don’t need to lie to me, I can see it," Gu Anjin said indifferently, turning to look at him, "But regardless, you should not have come. It’s quite awkward, and... you’ve interrupted my date."

She spoke each word lightly, yet clearly.

"With him?" Yue Siqing’s voice unknowingly grew cold.

Gu Anjin responded with a nod, meeting his inscrutable gaze, "Is there a problem? Brother Siqing, Grandpa only asked you to take care of me. I don’t think he ever mentioned that whoever I’m with needs your permission, right?"

"There’s no need to repeatedly bring Grandpa into this," Yue Siqing’s expression turned even colder, his tone allowing no room for negotiation, "Come back with me now."

"Yue Siqing!" Gu Anjin gritted her teeth with each word. She had never thought how unreasonable and domineering he could be, "Didn’t you hear me clearly? Whoever I’m with doesn’t require your consent. I’m not going back. It’s you and Miss Sheng who should leave. I’m not going back today!"

"What, are you planning to spend the night out with that guy?" He suddenly closed in, provoked by her words, his face turning livid.
