Not only would it be embarrassing, but it would also be a waste of time for a second mortal coil cultivator to run around investigating a death. Such a mission doesn’t need their great strength.

It is unlikely that the murderer is a second mortal coil cultivator because they are rare, and such people won’t lower themselves to kill a junior who also happens to be a member of the Dyson family.

Even if the murderer is a second mortal coil cultivator, the most the family will do is negotiate a fine. There is no way that they will ask for the life of a second mortal coil cultivator in exchange for the life of the first mortal coil child.

It is not that they can’t. They can, but it will be a waste of their time because no matter what they do, they won’t be able to bring back the child. Also, they will be offending a powerful person who has the chance to reach the third transformation for a dead child.

It is not the way of the Dyson family to do something so inefficient. But they must at least perform some investigation to get to the root of the matter and ensure that their honor is preserved. So they sent out two guards at the ninth transformation of the first mortal coil.

These two guards aren’t young. They are nearly 30 years old or above it. One of them is 29, while the other is 31.

They aren’t young, but they still have the chance to transcend the first mortal coil and reach the second mortal coil. All they need is merits to acquire the force diagram.

The guards of the Dyson family need a lot of merits to acquire the force diagram, merits have been slow to acquire. Fortunately, these two were selected for this mission.

It can be considered their luck. If their investigation goes well, they will earn a lot of merits, which will bring them closer to their goal of transcendence.

The two men and one dog moved through the forest with a purpose. They went in a straight line without deviating from their goal.

They had a piece of the life stone with them, which they used to track Jake’s killer. So they were not looking for a needle in a haystack. They already knew that Jake was murdered, and they knew how to find his murderer.

They walked through the forest and eventually found Jake’s killer. They found the murderer slumbering on a pile of leaves.

The two of them confirmed that the killer was really the entity in front of them. Then they took out their weapons in preparation to kill it.

The murder was a boar. It had eaten a big meal during the night. It was so full that it decided to sleep.

Its mouth is still bloody. And pieces of Jake’s clothes can still be seen stuck to its tusk and fur.

One of the investigators took out a sword while the other took out a spear. The two men flanked the boar and began to approach it.

They didn’t get close to it before it sensed their footsteps. It woke up and glared at them. Then it squealed and dashed towards one of them.

The man it dashed towards was the one with the sword. The man didn’t dare block the rushing boar. Instead, he dodged at the last moment and let the boar crash headfirst into a tree. Then he pierced into the boar’s sides with his small sword.

His attack was a success, but the wound was minimal compared to the size of the boar. The boar shook its head and lunged at the man with the sword again.

The boar was at least three times as big as both men combined. It had great strength, extraordinary vitality, and an enormous size. It wasn’t something a single one of them could handle despite it being at the eighth transformation.

If the boar were at the ninth transformation, the two of them wouldn’t be able to kill it. They would need two more men to have a chance at killing it before their fight draws too much attention.

This is how normal people hunt in the green forest. They hunt in groups.

A single human is likely to die to a beast with equal cultivation. It is because beasts usually have certain natural advantages such as claws, hide, fur, tusks, and size.

If not for the wisdom of man and their ability to craft weapons, they wouldn’t be able to fight back against a beast of equal power at all. This doesn’t change until humans reach the second mortal coil.

At the second mortal coil, both humans are equal. No one has any advantage over the other even without weapons. Humans can fight beasts head-on, naked and with their bare hands.

In the meantime, humans have to be careful when they fight a beast. This is especially the case seeing as they are right in the territory of beasts.

Just like humans will gang up on a beast that enters their towns and cities, beasts will also gang up on any humans that enter their territory. So these two men had to hurry with killing the beast.

Unfortunately, killing a boar is not easy. Aside from their thick hide, their sharp blade-like fur, their long sharp tusk, their great size and strength, their immense vitality, and their tenacity are another reason why they are so difficult to kill. Experience tales at freewebnovel

The two men had to take turns leading the boar into crashing into trees and stabbing it. This was a successful tactic that minimized injury to their person. But it took time and made them exhausted by the time they were done with it.

They were breathing intensely and sweating buckets by the time they were done killing the boar. But they were both in such a good mood that they smiled at each.

One of them said to the other, "It wasn’t what we expected, but this still counts as mission accomplished."
