Chapter 32: Vs Green Bear 2
Mamadou had grown confident in his bite.
His claw strikes, and finally something he had learned recently: throwing, the art of throwing objects.
He picked up stones from among the debris scattered across the ground and hurled them one after another at the Green Bear.
He specifically targeted its eye. Even if its fur was thick and its skin tough, its eye was not. The same applied to its internal organs. In a way, it still followed the structure of a living being.
"And the genius of the century, the man who possesses immeasurable wealth, the head of the greatest multinational corporation, throws the ball!"
Mamadou found himself in the mood for jokes. He was becoming increasingly comfortable with this kind of situation.
He circled around the Green Bear before it could react.
"And it’s a home run, brought to you by the man himself, the GOAT of GOATs!"
[Claw Skill]
The bear retaliated immediately, but since its left eye had been damaged, Mamadou did not need to make much effort to avoid its paw strike.
He drove Osbone into the bear’s left eye.
He had hoped the bear would howl in pain and stumble. He immediately prepared his next attack, but the bear simply swung its paw.
He twisted his body to avoid it.
"Damn, I tend to forget important information during fights."
Yes, and yet the Ark Monkey had already explained the different types of monsters. He should have known after a few exchanges exactly what he was dealing with, but although he had analyzed the fight itself, it had made him forget that fact.
He immediately retreated and repeated the same strategy.
Man, I’m starting to enjoy this crap. The call of battle.
Although it was difficult for him to describe, Mamadou still did not understand that what he was enjoying at that moment was not merely combat itself.
It was the feeling of controlling the fight.
The feeling that he could dictate the outcome.
And more than anything, the sensation of dominating his opponent.
In that regard, he was becoming increasingly suited to a world where the strong ruled and the weak tucked their tails between their legs.
"And here we go again! The handsome young man who used to make every girl fall for him has decided to throw rocks. Was the first hit just luck? No! He has decided to prove that he’s better than Brother Jaeger!"
He shouted his monologue at the top of his lungs while preparing himself.
"The Beast Titan’s stone throw!"
If someone was responsible for his transmigration and ended up writing a book about him, then they could go to hell over copyright issues, Mamadou thought.
Of course, it was not a serious thought.
It was simply his way of coping with fear.
Since he possessed so many joints in his arm and incredibly powerful muscles, the force he could generate when throwing a stone was comparable to that of a sling.
The stone immediately pierced the creature’s remaining eye.
Good, but that’s not enough.
Mamadou slipped between the stone spikes once more.
The fact that the beast continued moving meant it was relying on its other senses.
But since the Green Bear could no longer accurately locate Mamadou’s position, he seized the opportunity.
The moment he reached one of the spikes, he used it as a foothold and launched himself toward the Green Bear.
He drove Osbone into its ear.
He immediately released his hands and locked his arms around the bear’s neck.
He wrapped his tail around the Green Bear’s left arm and his lower limbs around its right arm.
He tightened his grip and immediately activated his Bite Skill.
[Bite Skill]
Crunch!
Crunch!
Crunch!
CRAAAAAAAH!
ARGH!
The Green Bear continued thrashing around wildly, but Mamadou’s body, now remarkably similar to that of a serpent, contracted tighter and tighter.
The more he endured, the more pressure he applied to the monster’s neck.
KREEEEH!
The Green Bear began to weaken.
Mamadou’s attack was undeniably effective.
His arms tightened even more around the creature’s throat.
His fangs sank deeper into its neck.
Finally, the enormous body of the bear collapsed forward, its head slightly misshapen.
THUD!
Mamadou pulled Osbone out of the monster’s ear and slashed across its neck.
SLASH!
He wanted to make absolutely certain it was dead.
Mamadou stared at the bear’s corpse and felt somewhat annoyed.
He had started to get hungry.
After tasting roasted Green Bear meat, there was no appeal left in eating it raw.
And none of the monsters he had encountered on this floor looked appetizing either, starting with the Ratatosks.
But what choice did he have?
He needed to eat if he wanted to continue exploring this place.
Contrary to what he had initially expected, this floor was rather vast.
He did not understand the principle behind it.
However, the Greater Ark Monkey had told him that this was a place where phenomena were distorted.
In a way, perhaps it made sense.
He accepted it.
So he ate the Green Bear raw.
Chomp!
Chomp!
Chomp!
It did not take him long to leave behind nothing but bones.
"Man, is everything I eat really stored in my stomach? Or is my digestive system absurdly fast and completely ridiculous?"
His level had not increased.
He had already more or less guessed that the higher one’s level became, the more experience was required to advance.
However, he could feel that defeating the Green Bear had granted a considerable amount of experience.
He sensed that he was close to leveling up.
If he could find more Green Bears before encountering the Special Monster the old monkey had mentioned, he would gladly play around with them.
His prediction proved correct.
He encountered several more Green Bears.
He fought some of them and avoided others.
Since his level was no longer increasing, he wanted to conserve his SP.
So he decided to search directly for the Special Monster and finally put an end to this business.
"Once I’m done with him, I’ll come back and hunt everything here the way people hunt chickens."
Mamadou looked at Osbone’s grip.
The handle was wrapped in animal hide and tightly secured with tendon strings.
Since he would soon have to confront the boss, he inspected it and tightened everything to make sure it would not come apart in the middle of battle.
After wandering for quite some time, he began to feel that he knew where the Special Monster was located.
