Chapter 513: Unfindable

Poor Marcus. Completely unaware of it all, he continued going about his business while, behind the scenes, people were watching him, investigating him, and making plans around him.

Most of all, he had no idea that Blaze Phoenix had already set his sights on him, seeing him as someone he absolutely had to recruit, or control.

In a way, Marcus had unknowingly contributed to the situation himself.

He had always preferred staying in the shadows. He never flaunted his strength, never built a reputation, and never made a spectacle of himself. While being the anonymous number one on Dominion’s Level Leaderboard attracted curiosity and envy, it wasn’t enough to intimidate anyone. Since nobody had actually witnessed the extent of his power, many naturally underestimated him, assuming he was simply a lucky player who had gotten ahead.

Reputation wasn’t built through rankings alone.

If he had publicly walked into the territory of a five-hundred-player guild and wiped them out single-handedly, the entire server would have exploded with discussion. After something like that, very few people would be foolish enough to provoke him.

A tiger that never bares its fangs is easily mistaken for a housecat.

Maybe... maybe it was about time he gave people a reason to stop underestimating him.

Meanwhile, Blaze Phoenix waited patiently for news while organizing the pieces in his mind. The more he thought about it, the more convinced he became that the anonymous player at the top of the Wealth Leaderboard and the anonymous knight leading the Level Leaderboard were one and the same.

His thoughts soon drifted to another mysterious figure: the Rabbit Knight, the absurdly powerful player who always rode the Nightmare Dragon Steed while hiding behind that unmistakable rabbit mask.

They had already confirmed that the Rabbit Knight was the anonymous Temple Knight who occupied first place on the Level Leaderboard and, at present, the only player to have reached level fifty.

If that was true, then there was a very real possibility that the player leading the Level Leaderboard, the Wealth Leaderboard, and even the Mount Leaderboard was the same person.

The possibility alone made Blaze Phoenix’s eyes light up.

His gaze shifted toward the two young women seated beside him as they quietly admired the falling cherry blossoms.

The identical twins looked no older than eighteen or nineteen. Though still young, they carried themselves with quiet confidence and graceful elegance, their slender yet curvaceous figures giving them the refined beauty of flowers in full bloom.

Each sister was striking on her own, with flawless features and a calm, intelligent air that naturally drew people’s attention.

Together, however, they were unforgettable, their identical faces and perfectly synchronized movements creating an almost unreal sight, as though they had stepped straight out of a painting.

The twins were none other than Blaze Phoenix’s personal attendants, Raven and Skye.

After Skye gently refilled his teacup, Blaze Phoenix took a slow sip before asking, "Raven, any news on the Rabbit Knight?"

The twins exchanged an awkward glance, and Raven sighed almost imperceptibly before shaking her head.

"Master, he’s incredibly difficult to track. He rarely enters cities, never stays in one place to grind, and we haven’t found any players who regularly associate with him. Even on the rare occasions our scouts spot him leaving a city, his Nightmare Dragon Steed is simply too fast. We lose him almost immediately."

’That infuriating Rabbit Knight...’ Skye couldn’t help remembering the last attempt to follow him. Not only had they failed to catch up, but they had ended up charging deep into the mountains after him, nearly getting themselves surrounded by high-level monsters before barely escaping. The memory still irritated her.

Despite all their resources, they had learned almost nothing about him. No identity, no companions, no habits, no useful clues whatsoever.

The mission had become increasingly frustrating.

Still, neither sister could honestly say they had done a poor job.

Dominion’s privacy system was exceptionally well designed. Players could wear masks to conceal their faces, while cosmetic outfits completely hid their equipment. Anyone determined to remain anonymous could do so with remarkable ease.

Even so, Skye couldn’t resist complaining. Puffing out her cheeks slightly, she muttered, "That Rabbit Knight is unbelievable. He’s always hiding somewhere, never showing himself. It’s like he’s determined to stay invisible."

Blaze Phoenix glanced at her in mild surprise.

Normally, Raven and Skye showed little interest in anyone outside their immediate duties. Yet whenever the Rabbit Knight came up, both of them became unusually invested, almost as though they had developed a personal rivalry with someone they had never even met. It was obvious they desperately wanted to uncover his identity.

For some reason, that realization left Blaze Phoenix with a faint sense of unease, though he couldn’t explain why.

As Skye continued grumbling under her breath, Raven spoke again.

"Master... do you think the Rabbit Knight could be connected to the player who topped the Wealth Leaderboard?"

Blaze Phoenix smiled confidently.

"Whether they’re connected or not," he said, "we’re about to find out."

"I hope they aren’t," Skye mumbled quietly.

She still wanted to be the one to track down that elusive Rabbit Knight herself.

Just then, a flash of light appeared outside the courtyard.

A figure hurried in before stopping respectfully in front of Blaze Phoenix.

It was Sakura Knight, leader of the Twelve Cherry Blossom Envoys, returning with the results of her investigation.

She bowed immediately. "Master, we’ve confirmed that someone exchanged nine billion gold coins for dollars. However..." She hesitated briefly. "We couldn’t trace where the money ultimately went, nor could we identify the account that received it."

Blaze Phoenix froze. "...Couldn’t trace it?" The teacup stopped halfway to his lips, and the confidence that had filled his face only moments earlier disappeared.

"What happened?" he asked, frowning. "Are you certain?"

This was the one outcome he had never considered.

Sakura Knight nodded. "We activated every high-level contact we have within the banking system, but none of them could access the transaction. Based on what we were able to determine, the recipient appears to be using a Titanium Card."

"A Titanium Card?" For the first time in a long while, genuine surprise appeared on Blaze Phoenix’s face.

As one of the most influential intelligence figures operating within the United States server, he knew exactly what those words meant.

The Titanium Card represented the highest level of financial security available.

Over the years, countless hackers, criminal organizations, and even foreign intelligence agencies had attempted to break through its protection, and not one of them had succeeded.

Even someone as arrogant and self-assured as Blaze Phoenix had no illusions about challenging that level of security.

More importantly, the revelation completely shattered his expectations, and for the first time since he began investigating the mysterious player, he had reached a dead end.
