Chapter 504: A Fake Identity

Following Mr. Zahir’s instructions, Marcus entered his real personal information and passwords before going through one verification after another: fingerprints, DNA, retinal scan, voice print. Every security measure they had was thrown at him, leaving no room for mistakes. By the time the final scan finished, nearly ten minutes had passed.

Mr. Zahir looked up from the terminal. "Mr. Marcus, your sequence number has already been randomly generated. The only thing left is your virtual identity. You can either let the system generate a name automatically or choose one yourself. Which would you prefer?"

Choosing it himself was an easy decision.

Marcus thought for a few seconds before answering, "Let’s go with Marcus Storm."

Mr. Zahir gave him an apologetic smile and shook his head. "I’m sorry, Mr. Marcus, but your virtual identity has to be clearly distinguishable from your real one. Your first or last name can’t be identical to the ones on your legal identity."

Marcus blinked.

’Seriously?’

Making him change both names felt a little excessive.

"Is that an absolute requirement?" he asked, unable to hide a hint of disbelief.

Mr. Zahir nodded apologetically.

Marcus let out a quiet sigh. Fine. Their system, their rules.

"In that case... let’s use Cole Stone."

"Excellent."

Mr. Zahir entered the name, confirmed it, and uploaded the information. About five minutes later, he returned with a completed Titanium Card package and placed several documents in front of Marcus.

Marcus flipped through them one by one. There was the Titanium Card agreement, his newly registered account information, a matching bank card, and, to his surprise, an identification card that looked every bit as authentic as an official driver’s license.

Noticing the confusion on his face, Mr. Zahir explained, "Mr. Marcus, the bank card has been designed to look exactly like an ordinary one, so it won’t attract unnecessary attention during transactions. If you ever need to verify your identity while using it, you may present this virtual ID."

Marcus picked up the card for a closer look. It was astonishingly convincing.

The photo was his. The fingerprints matched his own. Even the biometric information was genuine. Only the name and personal details had changed to the identity he had just created.

In other words, he was holding an entirely new legal identity.

"Mr. Zahir," Marcus asked, looking back up, "is this actually recognized? Could I use it outside of Titan Bank? Would anyone question it?"

"Officially, it’s intended to be used only alongside your Titanium Card," Mr. Zahir replied. "However, when your account was created, the identity information was uploaded through an independent government-linked database that doesn’t interfere with your original records. The two identities exist separately, so there won’t be any conflicts or warnings if it’s verified. As long as you use it within legal boundaries, you won’t have any problems."

Marcus was genuinely stunned. A completely legitimate second identity.

Kingston had gone far beyond what he’d expected. This wasn’t just a convenient privilege. It completely changed what he could safely do in the future.

He couldn’t help smiling to himself.

Having powerful friends really did make life a whole lot easier.

Mr. Zahir’s expression became more serious. "There is one thing I should remind you of, Mr. Marcus. Every Titanium Card account is managed directly by headquarters and monitored by dedicated personnel every day. I strongly advise against using either the account or the virtual identity for any illegal activity. If anything suspicious is discovered, the consequences are extremely severe."

"I understand."

Marcus had no intention of testing those limits. His goal had always been to stay on the right side of the law while taking advantage of the opportunities available to him.

Now that his Titanium Card was ready and he understood how Dominion’s currency exchange system worked, there was no reason to keep converting gold through ordinary banks. From now on, he could handle everything directly online or inside the game itself.

Judging from the conversation, Kingston hadn’t explained to Mr. Zahir why Marcus wanted the account in the first place, and Marcus was perfectly happy to leave it that way.

Before leaving, he had Mr. Zahir register ten additional Diamond-level accounts under his new identity. Once everything was finished, he thanked him, climbed onto his Steel-Horse, and set off.

’I’ll exchange the gold myself inside the game. It’ll be even harder for anyone to trace.’

The thought alone made him grin. Instead of heading straight home, however, he turned toward Crestwood University.

More specifically, toward Willow Moran’s apartment.

He hadn’t had the chance to see her in person since everything that had happened, and after spending so much time buried in one thing after another, he found himself genuinely wanting to.

Tonight, he thought with a small smile, I’ll spend the evening with my woman.

The doorbell rang. A few moments later, the door opened.

Willow stood there, her graceful figure wrapped in casual home clothes that somehow only emphasized her mature charm. Her naturally curvy silhouette, gentle beauty, and refined elegance made her look effortlessly captivating, and the surprise on her face quickly gave way to delight the moment she recognized him.

"Marcus! You’re here!" she said brightly. "What brings you over?"

She stepped aside immediately, inviting him in before handing him a pair of slippers.

Marcus looked at her for a moment, appreciating the warmth in her smile as much as her beauty.

"I missed you," he said honestly enough. "You kept crossing my mind, so I came to see you."

"Flatterer."

She rolled her eyes with an amused smile. She wasn’t naive enough to believe he’d spent every waking moment thinking about her, but hearing those words still made her heart flutter in a way she couldn’t quite hide.

Marcus smiled inwardly.

A sincere compliment, even a simple one, always carried more weight than people admitted. And in this case, it wasn’t entirely empty. He really had missed her.

Seeing the faint blush spreading across her cheeks, breathing in the familiar scent that lingered around her, he reached out without thinking and gently pulled her into his arms.

"So," he whispered with a grin, "did you miss your man?"

The words instantly deepened the pink on her cheeks.

She couldn’t help remembering how determined he’d been, how relentlessly he’d pursued her until she finally let down every one of her defenses. The memories left her face burning.

"You’re something else," she muttered, giving his chest a light tap that carried far more embarrassment than annoyance. "You’re always teasing me."

Even so, she made no effort to pull away.

Instead, she relaxed against him, finding unexpected comfort in the warmth of his embrace and the familiar rhythm of his heartbeat. It had been a surprisingly long time since she’d seen him outside the game, and she hadn’t realized how much she’d missed moments like this.

"Jerk..." she murmured softly, resting her head against his shoulder before adding in an even quieter voice, "At least I still get to see you every night in the game."
