Chapter 1184: Kasumi’s Shy Surrender
Kasumi’s heart visibly shattered. The confusion and shock on her face were painful to watch. Her beloved daughters were hitting and scolding the man she had just bared her soul to. Tears flooded her eyes as maternal panic and heartbreak took over.
"Stop it! Stop hurting him right now!" Kasumi lunged forward desperately, pushing Haruna and Yuko away with both hands. She dropped to her knees in front of me, cupping my face with trembling fingers.
"Jack... are you okay? Did they hurt you? Tell me truthfully—does anywhere hurt? I’m so sorry... I’m so sorry this is happening because of me!"
"I’m fine, really," I said gently, wiping her tears.
But Kasumi was far from calm. She turned to her daughters, shielding me with her body. "Why are you two doing this?! Don’t touch him! It’s not Jack’s fault at all! I’m the one who seduced him."
"I’m the guilty one here! Jack is completely innocent—blame me instead!" Her voice cracked with emotion. "Your mother is the indecent one... I should be the one being punished, not him. Please... just leave him alone."
Yuko tilted her head. "Oka-san, you’re really protecting him this much?"
Haruna added softly, "You look like you’re about to cry even more..."
Kasumi kept her arms spread protectively. "Of course I’m protecting him! He’s done nothing wrong. I was the one who started everything. If anyone has to be scolded, it’s me. Don’t hurt Jack anymore... I can’t bear seeing it."
Yuko and Haruna exchanged quick glances and finally dropped their fake anger. They rushed in and hugged their mother tightly from both sides.
"Oka-san, we don’t blame you at all," Haruna said warmly, rubbing her back. "We were just teasing."
"Yeah, it’s obviously all Jack’s fault," Yuko added with a playful grin. "He’s the big bad wolf here."
Kasumi still refused to move from her protective position in front of me. "No more hitting him... promise me."
Haruna stood up and crossed her arms, smiling. "Oka-san... do you love Jack? Be honest with us."
Kasumi’s face turned bright crimson. She looked anxious and nervous, like she was standing on a stage about to be judged. "I... I..." After a long, painful pause, she nodded shyly. "Yes... I do love him. I’ve loved him for a long time."
Yuko grinned. "Hmph, it took you so long to admit it, Jack. I was really starting to worry about you two."
Haruna chuckled. "He even got Aunt Tomiko yesterday, you know."
Kasumi blinked in utter disbelief. "Wait... what? What are you two even talking about? Tomiko too? How... how long has this been going on?"
Yuko pulled her mother into another tight hug. "Oka-san, I’m so happy right now. From now on, we’ll all be together forever... like real sisters."
"Sisters...?" Kasumi repeated, stunned. "You mean... all of us? With Jack? I don’t understand... Aren’t you angry? Aren’t you disappointed in me?"
Haruna shook her head gently. "Oka-san, you’ve sacrificed your own happiness for us for so many years. You always put us first. Now it’s your turn to be happy. Live for yourself. With Jack, everything will be fine—we promise."
I stood up and wrapped my arms around all three of them, pulling them into a big, warm embrace. "Oka-san, Yuko, Haruna... I love each and every one of you," I said sincerely. I kissed them one by one—first Haruna on the lips, then Yuko, and finally Kasumi on her forehead and then her lips.
Kasumi remained frozen in shock, her mind clearly overwhelmed. Haruna laughed softly at her mother’s dazed expression. "Look at Oka-san’s face! She’s so cute when she’s confused."
"You... you girls already knew about this...?" Kasumi whispered, still trying to process everything.
Yuko smiled brightly and nodded. "Oka-san, actually... it was mostly my idea. I wanted all of us to be together forever. No more secrets, no more loneliness."
Yuko then began explaining everything in detail—my special abilities, the power that had bound us together, the promise of immortality, and the beautiful, eternal future we could all share as one family. Kasumi’s eyes widened with every word, a whirlwind of emotions flashing across her face: shock, disbelief, wonder, and a flicker of hope.
She suddenly reached out with trembling fingers and checked my neck, carefully searching for any sign of injury or bandage.
When she found nothing, her expression shifted instantly from concern to realization. She slapped my chest lightly, though there was no real anger behind it—only flustered affection. "You... you were playing me this whole time!"
I chuckled softly and pulled her close again, wrapping my arms around her in a tight, protective embrace.
I could feel her heart racing against mine. "No, my love... if that situation had really happened, I wouldn’t hesitate to make that choice again. I would give anything for you—for all of you. You are worth every sacrifice."
Kasumi buried her face deeper into my chest, her body shaking with soft sobs. Her voice came out muffled and vulnerable. "Will you really love me...? Even though I’m older?"
I tilted her chin up gently so our eyes could meet. Brushing a tear from her cheek with my thumb, I spoke with all the warmth I could muster. "Kasumi... I don’t just love you. You are my heart."
"Every beat is yours. I love the way you sacrifice everything for your family, the quiet strength you carry, and the beautiful woman who has been hiding her feelings for far too long. You are not ’too old.’ You are timeless to me. I want to wake up every morning with you in my arms, to protect you, to cherish you, and to make you feel desired every single day."
Kasumi’s lips quivered, fresh tears spilling down her cheeks, but this time they were mixed with a shy, radiant smile. "Jack... I’ve been so scared. I thought I would lose everything... but hearing you say that makes me feel like I’ve finally come home."
Haruna sighed dreamily from the side, clasping her hands together. "So romantic... I’m getting jealous just watching you two."
Yuko grinned and leaned against my shoulder. "See, Oka-san? This is what we all wanted. Jack has enough love for every one of us. He’s going to spoil us rotten for eternity."
I kept one arm securely around Kasumi and reached out to pull Haruna and Yuko closer, forming a warm, intimate circle. "All of you are my world," I said softly, looking at each of them in turn.
"Haruna, your fire and playfulness light up my life. Yuko, your clever heart and strength bring me endless joy. And Kasumi... you are the gentle soul I want to grow old with—except we won’t grow old. We’ll have forever."
I leaned in and kissed Kasumi again, this time slower and deeper, pouring my affection into it. When we parted, I whispered against her lips, "You are mine, and I am yours. No more hiding. No more tears of doubt. Only love from now on."
Kasumi nodded, her voice barely a whisper but full of emotion. "I love you, Jack... I love you so much it scares me. But I don’t want to run away anymore. I want to stay by your side... with all of us together."
Haruna and Yuko exchanged happy glances before joining in, each stealing a quick kiss on my cheek while showering their mother with affectionate hugs.
The room felt lighter, warmer—filled with the promise of a shared future no one could break apart.
